Chapter 72 The Autumn Harvest Grasshopper

Clear and ethereal voice resonated throughout the office. Everyone was dumbfounded.
Including Carlton. They knew that Luann had a cold personality and didn't like being around people.

But...

She was being too impulsive and disrespectful! They were meeting for the second time, and it was for negotiations with the Gilbert Group. Why did she have to make their relationship so tense! Meanwhile, Alisha, who had just entered the room, had no idea that things had escalated to this point. She was momentarily stuck, unable to move.

Dylan's eyes slightly narrowed, and a smirk appeared on his lips.

A sinister smile.

Although his hand holding the contract tightened, his voice remained calm.

The only sound in the air was the crisp folding of paper.

"Luann! What are you doing?!"

"We came here for the company, why are you intentionally causing trouble? Are you crazy?!"

"I knew from the beginning that Luann had ulterior motives! You're hoping to see the downfall of the Gilbert Group before giving up!"

"Manager Dylan, I apologize..."

The employees of the Gilbert Group came out one after another, desperately trying to patch up the leak.

Even Carlton had a serious expression, and he hastily said, "Dylan..."

Dylan clapped his hands together.

"Not bad, not bad."

"It seems like the Gilbert Group isn't sincerely interested in collaborating with me after all."

Alisha hurriedly stepped forward.

"Dylan, my subordinate has a difficult personality. Please don't judge the entire company based on her."
"If we weren't sincere, why would we come such a long way..."

Dylan had a poker face, clearly displeased with this attempt to save face.

Alisha immediately waved towards Luann.

"Why don't you come and apologize to Mr. Dylan right away!"

Luann remained composed, with a faint smile on her face. Her slender and fair fingers lightly tapped on the desk.

"Are you in a hurry?"

"Has your plan failed?"

A flicker of panic flashed in Alisha's eyes, and she scolded in a low voice, "What nonsense are you talking about? Come over here quickly!"

Luann leaned back in her chair, as if it were a soft embrace. The expression in her eyes resembled that of a lazy cat. Within the depths of her black pupils, a chilling light glowed, as if she could see through everything. Alisha felt a chill all over her body, and a shiver ran down her spine.

"Alisha, there are only two ways from the hotel to the Page Group."

"And, we've never encountered any traffic jams."

"You deliberately came late, just to witness me making a fool of myself in front of Dylan, right?"

Alisha was stunned. She felt as if she had been nailed to the ground. How did Luann know?

She did come late on purpose, intending for Luann to embarrass herself so that she could step in and resolve the situation. But she didn't expect Luann to be so stubborn!

It was really extraordinary how quickly everything escalated.

Luann was furious with Dylan, which made him uncooperative. Doesn't that mean her dreams of promotion and salary increase would be shattered?

Someone immediately questioned sarcastically, "What two options? You speak as if you know it well! Do you think this street belongs to your family?"

"And besides, isn't traffic congestion a common thing?"

"Just because you haven't encountered it, doesn't mean others won't!"

Luann lowered her head slightly, hiding the faint smile on her face.

"It just so happens that it does belong to my family."

No one present believed it and burst into laughter.

"If it really belongs to you, I'll gladly be a stool for you!"

The argument escalated. Alisha quickly intervened to calm things down.

"Alright, alright, let's not argue anymore. Luann definitely didn't mean it."

"Dylan, we've been friends for so many years, please do me a favor, okay?"

Alisha pleaded with Dylan with her eyes.

Dylan stroked his chin, with a meaningful expression.

"Don't worry, even if I don't do you a favor, I have to do Carlton a favor."

"After all, this woman is by Carlton side."

Alisha's pupils contracted, looking at Carlton in disbelief. Carlton furrowed his brows but remained silent. Dylan noticed Alisha's reaction and revealed a triumphant smile.

"We've been talking for so long, you must be thirsty, right?"

"Let's have some good wine and continue our discussion."

Alisha reluctantly said, "We don't need wine, and this isn't a bar..."

Dylan ignored her and directly dialed the landline on the table. Soon, several bottles of imported liquor were delivered, each with a high alcohol content.

"This Miss Luann, care to have a drink with me?"

Dylan put a bottle in front of Luann with a thud.

"As long as you finish all the liquor today, I will sign the contract immediately."

Carlton couldn't stay silent. "Dylan, you..."

"Just go along with it."

Alisha interrupted him.

"She did something wrong in the first place, so it's only right for her to take responsibility."

Carlton sounded displeased.

"She's just a young girl, how can she handle such strong liquor?"

"I'll drink for her!"

He said and pulled out the cork, as if he was about to gulp it down. Alisha watched his reckless act, feeling hurt all over her face, as if a giant hand was tearing at her heart. She felt in pain even when breathing. Dylan snatched the bottle from Carlton's hand.

"No need to show off at a time like this."

"And I said she has to drink it herself."

"Miss Luann, please."

Luann raised her emotionless gaze, and a rich smile appeared on her stunning face.

In a fleeting moment, everything came alive again.

"Are you sure?"

Dylan coldly dropped a word.

"Drink!"

Luann's wrist slightly turned, "In that case, we have no need to discuss cooperation anymore."

Dylan sneered, "Do you think this is something you can decide?"

The team leader was Alisha. She was the manager.

"I indeed cannot make decisions on our side."

"But I can be your superior."

"Summon your vice president."

Upon hearing Luann's words, Dylan burst into laughter.

"Summon the vice president?"

"Do you think our vice president will meet just anyone?"

"For such a trivial matter, he wouldn't even spare a glance!"

"He deals with contracts worth billions, why would he bother with your million-dollar order?"

The atmosphere immediately turned icy. Everyone held their breath and dared not say a word.
Carlton sighed silently. Although Luann was attractive and skilled in playing the piano, she had little knowledge in business matters. And yet she dared to say such audacious words.

Even Dylan, who had been with the company for five years, had only met the vice president once or twice. Luann didn't want to waste time talking to Dylan. She took out her phone and dialed a number.

"The office on the left side of the first floor."

"You have one minute to come down and meet me."
