Chapter 322 Skilled in Disguise
When Luann and Myron emerged from the Curtis family, it was already pitch dark.
Randy, usually brimming with arrogance and disdain, now followed behind them eagerly.
"When are you coming over to my place? I'll whip up some delicious grub and we can enjoy a few rounds together," he suggested, his mouth parched from incessant talking.
"Myron's appearance has recovered, and you both have won such a big award. We really should have a great celebration!" Randy rambled on, his mouth dry from all the talking.
When Myron and Luann got into the car, Randy continued to wave persistently.
"Drive slowly and be careful on the road," he called out, watching them leave with a longing gaze before finally getting into his own car.
The driver had been waiting for him for quite some time.
"Mr. Torres, are we heading home?" the driver asked.
Randy didn't respond but instead slapped his forehead forcefully, muttering, "I was so careless that I almost caused a big problem!"
The driver silently started the car.
"Thank goodness I acted swiftly. I hope Luann and Myron won't hold it against me," Randy mumbled. "I'll find another opportunity to invite them for a meal and apologize sincerely. Maybe I can still secure their projects."
" If I really offend Avoida, I'm done for," Randy continued, growing more regretful and fearful . He took out his phone and suddenly remembered something.
"Damn it!" he exclaimed. Opening Facebook, he saw that the video he had posted was already trending. 'How could he have forgotten about this?'
Randy frantically tried to delete the video, but it was too late. Major media outlets had already re-shared it.
"Damn it, what do I do now?" Randy stomped his foot in frustration.
"I shouldn't have been so impulsive and asked Grace to send me the video!"He muttered.
At the time, he had only intended to teach Myron a lesson, never expecting that both of them would win awards.
[Is it really that impressive to just win first or second place?]
[Yes, it is. If you think you can do better, go ahead.]
[Even if they won awards, they shouldn't have done such a thing. Besides, Ross also made the list. Although he's not as impressive as them, he still contributed.]
[Say what you want, but I support Luann and Myron. The officials haven't said a word, but here you are criticizing. This video might be taken out of context!]
[Exactly, the harsher the criticism now, the more embarrassing it will be later!"
[Some people just can't help meddling. What does this have to do with you?]
[Ross has been a senior professor at our academy for many years, known for his honesty and integrity. It's a shame that he had to suffer like this abroad.]
[Yeah, I wondered why Ross didn't return to school immediately after coming back. He must be devastated.]
[Yeah, it was originally a good thing, but it turned out to be embarrassing and ended up being spread abroad. If I were Ross, I'd feel humiliated too.]
[Are you all mind readers? How do you know what Ross is thinking?]
Randy stared at the chaotic comments, unsure of what to do. His hand trembled, accidentally clicking on the next full interview video. In the video, a reporter questioned Luann about the time she spent on her painting.
After watching the video, Randy was dumbfounded, he exclaimed, "She finished the painting in just a day?"
"Is that possible for a human? "
Randy belatedly realized that Luann had silently marked him down in her mind. Outwardly polite, but in reality, it was a different story. Otherwise, Luann wouldn't make excuses about not having the energy to paint for him.
"It's over. It's completely over," Randy lamented, his face contorted in despair.
"Could Grace have deliberately played me? She's with the Curtis family. How could she not know where Myron and Luann were? She intentionally fed me information about Ross's movements and that inexplicable video."
"Well, well, daring to scheme against me. Lily's child is quite something!" Randy slapped the seat in anger, saying. But now, even if he regretted it, it was too late.
As soon as Luann and Myron returned home, they received a message.
"Mr. Curtis, we've located the IP address of the person who posted the video. The original video has been deleted, but the online uproar continues. What do you think we should do? Do you need us to take action?"
Myron opened the message and saw it was Randy's address. Moreover, Randy had also mentioned the incident when he came over in a rage today.
Lounging on the sofa, Luann yawned and remarked, "Randy's timing for posting that video was impeccable."
Myron was silent for a moment before uttering three words, " It was Ann."
Luann raised an eyebrow, "You guessed it?"
Myron met her gaze. "Yes."
Luann acknowledged with a slow stretch, "But she seems so gentle and kind, not like someone who would do such a thing."
Myron's tone was calm and unruffled, "she was just skilled in disguise."
Luann laughed, "Like your father?"
Myron's gaze turned deep. "Mom suggested you return to work at the company, but Dad refused."
"I always felt there was something mysterious about them, not like a normal couple," Myron said, his eyes flashing with a cold glint.
Luann continued, "Moreover, I once followed him by chance and saw him enter a..."
"What he does or has done has nothing to do with me," Myron interrupted her.
Luann shrugged lightly, "Alright."
After a moment of silence, Myron suddenly asked, "What is Ann's purpose?"
Luann shook her head, "I don't know, but Ross definitely wouldn't be that foolish. He knew that offending us won't end well, which is why he sneaked away at the time."
"But as Ross's character, I'm sure he wouldn't do something like this."
"Because Ross was doing well as a professor at the school. Barring any accidents, he could continue for another ten years or so. Plus, he made the list again, making him a star at the school."
"Many would envy him, and his photo might hang in the school for decades, even a century."
"If Ross chose to completely irritate us, it would be equivalent to destroying his own future."
