Chapter 471 Help with the Inspection

Elodie groggily woke up.

She felt a jolt around her.

In her ears, the lively murmur of numerous voices could be heard.

Mira was tightly clutching her hand, crying like crazy, as if she had some incurable disease.

Seeing her awake, Mira exclaimed in delight.

"Elodie, How are you feeling?" Mira said.

"We're already downstairs at the hospital, and we're going to give you a full-body checkup right away."

"Don't worry, everything will be fine, it definitely will." Mira voiced.

Elodie's head was spinning. The noise around her made her feel even more disoriented, as if all the blood was rushing to her head.

Soon, she was lying on a stretcher being carried out.

All she could hear was the sound of wheels rolling on the ground.

She was uncertain of how many floors they had risen.

Suddenly, it became exceptionally quiet. The smell of disinfectant in the air inexplicably calmed Elodie's racing heart.

"Director, help. Please save her."

Adolph was standing expressionlessly on one side of the operating table, dissecting a prosthetic limb.

Hearing this, he looked up.

From afar, Mira glanced over, her heart momentarily faltering.

The man who was busy in the kitchen yesterday was now wearing a pristine white lab coat, with his figure tall and slender.

His gloved hands were holding two delicate scalpels, which gleamed sharply under the light.

His silver-rimmed glasses framed his attractive eyes, giving him an air of sophistication.

Seeing that the patient lying there was Elodie, a hint of interest flashed in Adolph's eyes.

He stabbed the scalpel into the abdomen of the prosthetic limb.

Although it was fake, it still made Mira shiver.

'Why has this man suddenly become so terrifying?' Mira mused.

The staff who had accompanied Elodie hurriedly explained, "This is the new spokesperson we hired at Sunflower. She suddenly fainted during the shoot, and we don't know why. We thought, since the boss has a good relationship with you, we brought her here. Mr. Miller, you must cure this lady."

Adolph responded indifferently, "You can leave."

"Okay." The staff responded.

As the staff was about to leave, they worriedly said to Mira, "Don't worry, he's the best doctor at Unionia. He owns this hospital. He's the director who can solve any difficult and complicated cases."

Mira was stunned, suddenly recalling what Adolph had said to Elodie yesterday.

'Oh my god. It turned out to be true.' Mira was surprised inside.

At that time, she thought Adolph was talking nonsense and even scolded him a bit angrily.

Mira instantly felt embarrassed.

Adolph walked over unhurriedly.

His lab coat swayed gently with his steps and he asked, "She fainted?"

Mira nodded repeatedly, "Yeah, Mr. Miller, please take a look. What's the matter with Elodie? Could she be seriously ill?"

Adolph's lips curled slightly. His long eyelashes drooped, hiding the glint in his eyes.

"I noticed yesterday that she didn't look well. She might be seriously ill. Let's do a comprehensive checkup first to confirm. I'll write the order, and you can go downstairs to find another doctor." Adolph said.

Adolph's words made Mira's heart skip a beat.

"Why find another doctor?" Mira asked. She hadn't forgotten what the staff had just said.

Adolph was highly skilled and Luann's brother, so naturally, it was more reliable to have him.

Adolph leaned elegantly against the edge of the table.

"An actress needs to be cautious. Some procedures are not suitable for a male doctor like me to perform." Adolph replied.

Mira immediately understood, blushing as she looked at Elodie.

Waiting for her response, Elodie was silent for a moment, her cold voice calm, "In the eyes of a physician, gender is of no consequence."

Adolph raised an eyebrow and voiced, "Alright then."

"Since Ms. Rivera said so, I won't refuse." Adolph continued.

After speaking, he took out a new mask and put it on.

Mira couldn't help but marvel in her heart.

He was so handsome and had that stoic beauty, completely different from the gentle, soft demeanor of yesterday.

Mira didn't know how to describe it. This stark contrast made her heart race.

Even Elodie glanced secretly at Adolph a few more times.

Elodie was much more rational than Mira, knowing that staring was impolite, so she quickly looked away.

The thirteenth and fourteenth floors of the hospital were equipped with the best facilities.

Not just anyone could come up here. So it was particularly quiet.

Blood routine, liver and kidney function, blood lipids, blood sugar, and a series of other tests awaited Elodie.

She didn't expect the comprehensive checkup to come so suddenly.

"The next item is an electrocardiogram." Mira suddenly bent down, leaned close to Elodie's ear, and whispered, "I've had an ECG before, you might need to take off your bra."

Elodie calmly nodded.

Entering the room, Adolph went to turn on the machine.

Elodie sat there, her face pale, taking off what needed to be taken off.

"Lie down." Adolph's clean voice came over.

Elodie followed his instructions.

Mira was pacing anxiously outside, afraid that Adolph might do something to Elodie inside.

One could hardly blame her for overthinking; Elodie possessed such captivating beauty that resisting temptation was nearly impossible.

Besides, Adolph wasn't that old, full of youthful vigor, if he really was tempted.

"No, god!" Mira shook her head.

"What am I thinking?"

"He's a doctor, doctors are noble. How could I have such dirty minds." Mira pondered constantly.

Adolph didn't make any inappropriate moves, only necessary contact, and didn't touch Elodie more than needed.

But after this procedure, he suddenly asked, "Do you have a sex life?"

Elodie was taken aback, with her ears inadvertently turning red.

"No," Elodie replied.

Adolph's gaze swept over, with a flurry of surprise.

Attaining her stature in the entertainment industry while remaining untainted was, indeed, a rarity.

Elodie frowned and voiced with somewhat angry, "Why are you looking at me with such disbelief?"

Adolph shrugged lightly, "Sorry, just a bit surprised. Then we'll do an ultrasound instead."

"Okay," Elodie responded

After completing all the procedures, Adolph told Elodie to stay in the hospital for treatment.

"Please hurry, I have a shoot later," Elodie said urgently.

She thought it would be quick. It was already past five and still not done, and waiting for the results would take more time.

Adolph glanced at this career-driven Elodie and uttered, "Are you choosing money over your life?"
