Chapter 84 We Don’t Make Appointments

Holly looked bewildered.

“Husband?”

“You mean Myron?”

Adolph raised an eyebrow. "Hmm."

“And who is the lover?”

Adolph put his glasses back on.

“The gigolo she hired.”

“By the way, the reason I called you here this time is to have you properly assess and see how Myron treats my baby.”

Holly nodded and made an OK gesture.

“Got it, no problem.”

“I’ve told you everything I needed to. I’ll be going now, bye-bye.”

She waited at the airport entrance for half an hour until a stunning red sports car stopped in front of her.

Eddy sat inside, looking at Holly, who was dressed coolly in a tank top and shorts, and whistled at her.

Holly glanced at him sideways,

Eddy immediately moved a few meters to the side.

Holly put her hand in her pocket and took out two American bills, throwing them inside.

“The parking lot is up ahead, hurry up and go, don’t block my view.”

Eddy raised his lips, revealing a handsome smile, resting his arm on the steering wheel and tapping his fingertips twice.

“Miss, please get in the car.”

Holly frowned with disgust.

“Sorry, uncle, we’re not interested.”

Eddy's face immediately darkened.

“Uncle?”

“Do I look that old?”

Having seen countless women fall under his charm throughout the years, this woman not only looked disdainful, but also found him old?

“I guess you must be around twenty-six or twenty-seven?”

“Compared to me, surely you are old.”

Holly teased him, making Eddy unable to help himself but emphasize,

“But you’re mistaken, haven’t you heard of the saying that a man is at his prime at thirty-one?”

Holly made an expression as if disgusted by him.

“Still claiming you’re not old.”

“All these old-fashioned sayings are from my father’s generation!”

“Go away, go away, don’t taint my vision. If I keep looking at you, I’ll go blind!”

Holly turned around with her suitcase in hand, determined to stay away from this man.

Eddy quickly got out of the car and grabbed her wrist.

Holly shook violently as if electrocuted, “Don’t make me chop off my hand!”

“Chopping off someone’s hand is illegal,” Eddy laughed.

“I meant chop off my own!” Holly shouted angrily. “Dirty, dirty, completely dirty!”

“Hey, you don’t have to despise me like this, right? We have met before. If we dig deeper, it seems like you still owe me a favor.”

Holly paused her movements and looked up to earnestly examine his features, her big eyes sparkling.

An inexplicable anticipation arose in Eddy’s heart.

“Mister, could you stop kidding around?”

“Do any bars want an old man like you?”

Recalling how she had been to numerous bars, calling countless young men to sing, play, and accompany her, randomly picking one would definitely be better than this person.

Eddy’s mouth twitched, veins popping on his forehead.

So this girl had mistaken him for that kind of person?

“Go, go, go, go away, you’re not my type.”

“Then who is your type? Luann?” Holly’s foot stopped in mid-air.

Her neck seemed to have been wound up, turning to see the man's darkened face.
“You... You were sent by Luann to pick me up?”

“Otherwise?”

Holly immediately burst into laughter, looking sweet.

“Sorry, sorry, it was a misunderstanding!”

She thought this man was approaching her for a conversation!

“You’re just a driver, you should’ve introduced yourself when you arrived. There was no need for all this drama, seriously...”

Holly shook her head and walked towards the sports car.

“By the way, help me grab my luggage... Ah!”

Before she finished speaking, Eddy grabbed her wrist and pulled her back.

His suppressed voice carried some discontent.

“You ungrateful piece of work!”

“Who do you think you are calling me ‘the driver’? ”

Holly held onto his arm, barely steadying herself.

“Then you are...”

Adolph's words echoed in her mind.

Holly immediately understood and patted his shoulder firmly.

“Oh, I see now! I really appreciate your help.”

Eddy's brow furrowed, looking at her face full of sympathy, sensing something amiss.

“What do you mean by ‘appreciate’?”

Holly sighed as if seeing through everything.

“I know it’s’ hard for you to make room for her husband!”

“Just to please Luann, you even came to pick me up in person.”

Eddy became more confused as he listened, feeling like he was trapped in a maze with no way out.

Adding to that, Holly’s gaze made him feel uneasy all over.

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

“I am Myron’s friend, and Myron has been taking care of Luann these last few days while she’s injured. ”

“I received a call this morning while on my way to the hospital to see Luann, asking me to pick you up on the way.”

Holly was more and more shocked as she listened, unable to help but cover her mouth.

“Oh my, so you’re actually friends!”

“By doing this, are you treating Myron well?”

When she sees Luann, she should really have a serious talk with this girl.

Even if it's a gigolo, he should at least get a younger one and someone who's far away!

Eddy: “?”

He took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing his anger, and gritted his teeth as he spoke two words.

“Get in!”

“Oh...”

The car started slowly.

Holly fastened her seatbelt and turned her head to look at him.

“How much money does Luann give you every month?”

Eddy didn't understand.

“Why would she give me money?”

Holly blinked her eyes twice, “She...she’s freeload...freeloading?”

Eddy pursed his lips and didn't want to bother with her anymore.

For the rest of the journey, the two of them didn’t exchange a single word.

Bang!

Eddy forcefully put Holly’s suitcase on the ground. “VIP ward, 5th floor, room 3.”

“Oh.”

Holly walked to the door of the ward and pushed it open.

Myron, who was reading a magazine, looked up.

Holly was startled by his appearance and instinctively took a step back, stepping on the threshold.

Myron closed the magazine, stood up naturally, and walked towards the door.

Holly reached out and closed the door, her face full of disbelief.

“So...that person is Myron?”

“He does have a somewhat...”

Holly shrugged lightly, implying her meaning.

“Well, don’t say that in front of him.” Luann reprimanded softly.

“Oh, you’re defending him?” Holly teased.

“He has scars on his face, and he must have suffered and heard many hurtful words over the years.”

Holly nodded repeatedly, speaking candidly, “Don’t worry, I’m not a fool.”

Luann finally relaxed.

She knew Holly was straightforward and always spoke her mind, without any ill intentions.

But if she was cunning, she would be in trouble.

It's annoying how her mind keeps going. Holly held Luann's hand and glanced worriedly at the decorations in the hospital room.

“Luann, why are you hospitalized?”

"When your second brother called me about it, he scared the life out of me."

"Last night... Did you sleep well?"

"Didn't... have nightmares?"
