Chapter 363 Poor Taste

Joshua would never admit he felt a bit grateful to Luann for her efforts.

To dodge the topic, Joshua switched gears and asked, "How did you know something was off with that jewelry company? You took me to the factory, so you must've known for a while."

Luann shrugged. "I saw their stuff in a jewelry store once while shopping."

"You bought it?" Joshua asked, confused.

Luann looked puzzled. "Why would I buy a fake?"

Joshua was even more confused. "But if you didn't buy it, how did you know it was fake?"

Luann replied, "Do I need to buy it? You can tell it's fake just by looking."

Joshua was silent. If he hadn't gone to the jewelry store last night and bought a set, he might've believed her. He had to get a famous appraiser before confirming it was fake. But Luann could tell just by looking. What kind of skill did that take?

"How many skills do you have?" Joshua sighed. The more time he spent with Luann, the more he felt she had many secrets.

Luann just smiled.

Seeing she didn't want to talk, Joshua raised his glass.

"Well, it doesn't matter to me. I just hope your judgment is right this time, or Aspire Securities might really disappear. Cheers! To our first collaboration!"

The sound of clinking glasses rang out, and the crimson liquid swirled inside.

A pair of sharp eyes glanced in from outside the window.

In a car, Williams, in a black trench coat, sat, leaning back with an indifferent expression, scrutinizing Joshua, who was sitting opposite Luann. 'Is that Myron's brother?'

A faint sound reached his ears. Williams instinctively lowered his head, catching movement under his car.

Without hesitation, Williams started the car and stepped on the gas, not caring if the person under the car would be injured.

The car drove several dozen feet away, just out of the restaurant's blind spot. Even if Luann looked out the window, she couldn't see him.

Williams got out, staring expressionlessly at the 'boy' standing not far away, waving with a dirty face.

"Do you have a death wish?"

Hill smiled slightly, opening her palm. "No, the one with a death wish is you. If the car speed exceeds fifty miles per hour, it might crash and burn."

Williams' sharp gaze swept over her face, a cold, slightly surprised light flashing in his eyes. "Hill."

Hill exclaimed, "After all these years, you still remember me?"

Williams let out a cold snort.

Hill waved her hand. "Come on, just because Adolph ruined Luann's birthday dress and gave me the bow and diamonds, you're still holding a grudge?"

Hill walked over, opened the car door, and sat in the passenger seat. "But you weren't polite either, taking all those things back. Being neighbors with you was no fun. I moved out even though I didn't want to leave Luann."

Williams glanced at her, showing a hint of disdain. "And you ended up like this?"

Hill reclined the seat, leaning back comfortably, and propped her feet up near the windshield. "What do you know? I'm experiencing life. Drive. Let's find a place to catch up."

Williams smirked sarcastically, got in, closed the door, and started the car. The speed soared.

Hill glanced at him. "Aren't you afraid of dying?"

"Do you think you could damage my car in such a short time?" Williams asked arrogantly.

Hill knew her tricks hadn't fooled him. "Turn left up ahead. That restaurant is really good."

She reached for the steering wheel with her left foot. Williams quickly grabbed her ankle and twisted it. Hill nimbly followed his movement, flipping over in the seat, but was still subdued by Williams. Her left leg bent, pinned against her right thigh. She lay there, unable to move, while Williams controlled her with one hand and drove calmly with the other.

The car stopped. He asked, "Is it here?"

Hill was about to look up when he pressed her neck down forcefully. Her face was squished against the seat, slightly distorted, but she remained calm. "Yes."

"You're lying."

"You're talking bullshit!"

Williams applied more pressure.

Hill cried out in pain. "Alright, it's over there, okay?"

Williams said clearly, "Why are you in the Upper West Side? When did you get in touch with her? Tell the truth!"

Hill glanced sideways. "I like coming here. What's it to you?"

Williams released her.

Hill stretched her neck. "Don't worry, I'm not interested in your complicated love life, nor do I want to get involved. Don't flatter yourself thinking I'm here to mess with you. I have no such interest."

Williams pressed, "Then why were you there?"

"My little toy is there, so of course, I have to be there too."

In Williams' mind, Joshua's image appeared. He frowned, a bit disdainful. "Terrible taste."

Hill wasn't annoyed. "Yeah, you have the best taste, but you still have to catch up."

With that, Hill kicked open the car door and jumped out.

Turning back, she reached out. "Loan me ten dollars. I'll pay you back another day."

Williams said, "I don't have any." He might consider moving a finger for one hundred thousand dollars.

Hill looked at him with disdain. "You don't even have ten dollars. No wonder Luann doesn't like you."

Williams remained silent.
