Chapter 121 A Pretty Vase

Luann stayed in a leisurely manner. There was nothing on her face except calmness.

On the other hand, Myron glanced at her meaningfully.

Then he instructed the driver, "Go to the outskirts."

"Yes sir."

Alvin scratched his head in confusion, his face full of bewilderment.

"Brother, why are we going to the outskirts at this hour? Coming and going will take an hour, let's not waste time..."

However, Myron completely ignored him.

Luann suddenly closed the screen and tossed the tablet back into Myron's arms.

On it were all the projects and work that Joshua had completed over the years, as well as detailed lists of every single drawing he had ever designed.

"What's wrong? Is there something you don't understand?" Myron asked, his voice filled with significance.

The slender fingertips lightly tapped on the screen.

Everyone's information was stored in his mind.

As long as Luann asked, he could give a detailed answer.

"No need, no need to look," Luann calmly said.

Alvin turned his head from the front and replied, "Yeah, brother, these verbose things give people a headache."

"Besides, sister-in-law doesn't seem fit for this kind of work either! Otherwise, she wouldn't have stayed at Wilber's company for two years, working quietly and unnoticed.”

Luann nodded thoughtfully.

"That's true, I think I'm better suited for slacking off."

Alvin chuckled, taking the stance of a spectator.

"Scared?"

"It doesn't matter if I'm scared or not. Joshua intentionally gave you a hard time, wanting you to see the gap between the two of you. He deliberately spread the news, waiting for you to go over."

"And besides, sister-in-law, it was your request. It wouldn't be good to back out at the last moment, right?"

Luann vaguely sensed that something was off.

"How do you know all this in such detail?"
Alvin shrunk his neck and cleared his throat.

"Who...who let you win so much of my assets yesterday!"

"To tell you the truth, I was fully aware when Joshua passed on the message. I never stopped him!"

"Well, are you scared now?"

Luann responded lightly, "Oh."

"Why are you just saying 'oh'?"

Luann looked at him helplessly. "You act like you can stop him."

Alvin "..."

The car quickly arrived in a remote area, and the surrounding vehicles became sparsely scattered, turning the streets empty.

Unexplainably, Alvin felt an ominous premonition in his heart.

His cellphone rang at the right moment.

Alvin picked it up and his face immediately tensed up.

"It's a call from Joshua. I suppose he's urging us."

The slender five fingers spread in front of him.

Alvin handed him the phone.

The next second.

The call ended.

The phone was turned off.

Myron said calmly, "Alvin, get out of the car."

"Huh?" Alvin met his sharp gaze and didn't dare to show any disobedience. He obediently got out.

Bang!

The car door closed.
Myron's voice was cool. "Go back to the company."

Alvin froze outside the car, his hands clutching the door, shouting in despair.

"Brother, brother, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Don't leave me here!"

"In this deserted place, how am I supposed to go back?!"

Accompanied by his wailing, he swallowed a lungful of exhaust fumes.

"Cough, cough, cough..."

"Isn't it just teasing sister-in-law? You're being too petty!"

Luann turned her head and watched Alvin's figure, which was getting farther and gloomier.

Her chin was grasped.

Her gaze was forced onto Myron.

"Do you think he's good-looking?" Myron asked quietly.

"He's okay."

"Is he good-looking, or am I good-looking?"

Listening to this deadly question, Luann silently handed him the small mirror from her bag.

Myron casually put it in his pocket.

Gently, he adjusted his position.

"Do you feel sorry for him?"

"What's there to feel sorry about? The road is straight, not a single curve. It's still daytime, and he'll see a car within an hour at most. He's not gone forever," Luann replied.

Myron nodded slightly.

The car quickly stopped in front of the headquarters building.

As Luann was about to open the door, her wrist was grabbed by a cold hand.

She turned around to see Myron's concerned gaze.
"It's not too late to change your mind."

Luann smiled faintly, "No, I said we'd compete fairly, so we'll compete fairly."

Myron sighed helplessly, feeling slightly worried.

He wrapped his arm around Luann's slender shoulder and walked briskly towards the entrance.

The employees were discussing amongst themselves.

"Is that Luann? She's so beautiful!"

"Why is she hugging Myron? Could it be that they..."

"That's impossible, right? Myron is so ugly, how could someone as beautiful as Miss Luann like him!"

"Shh, quiet down!"

"Cough, you didn't hear anything..."

"Did you hear? Luann is here to compete for the position of our design director!"

"I've known that for a while, I'm so excited!"

Creak

The door made an unpleasant noise.

Everyone in the meeting room turned to look at the entrance.

Before Luann even entered, she could already feel the gazes of more than a dozen people on her.

There was suspicion, contempt, and indifference.

A mix of various emotions, quite chaotic.

Luann stepped forward and greeted Mr. Curtis, whose face was stern and full of authority, "Hello, Chairman."

Mr. Curtis raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised as he looked at her.

He thought Luann would get closer to him and call him grandfather or something.

He didn't expect her to handle it in such a formal manner.

But it didn't matter, Myron had already instructed him.

Just a little trick to open the back door, that's all.

It would be a piece of cake!

Today's competition seemed daunting, but it was just a formality.

These shareholders had been reminded by him countless times; their ears practically numb.

Luann then bowed respectfully to the shareholders, with a humble and natural smile.

There was no deliberate flattery, no obsequiousness, and no sense of superiority.

All there was, was a calm and serene aura.

"Hello, esteemed shareholders."

An old man with slightly graying hair glanced at her with an unpleasant expression, his tone unapologetically filled with disdain.

"So, you are Luann?"

"You do have good looks."

"However, our company doesn't lack flower vases."

Myron's face darkened.

Mr. Curtis, who had been staring at Myron, suddenly had a thin layer of sweat on his palm, and his cane thumped as it hit the ground.

"Old Yen! What are you saying!"

This person was named Evan, Mr. Curtis' good friend.

He had a hot temper and led a righteous life, but didn't like this kind of thing.

If it weren't for Mr. Curtis's repeated requests, he wouldn't have agreed to such a despicable cheating method!

However, even though he reluctantly accepted, it didn't mean he would be kind to Luann.
"Hmph, I have the right to say whatever I want, what business is it of yours?" he retorted.

"We're all gathered here today, can't people speak?"
