Chapter 419 Charity Gala

Luann's new place was in a sweet spot, with cute little yards in the front and back. Myron had gone all out and planted a ton of lavender, leaving Luann no room for her own plants.

"We still have the greenhouse," Myron said, noticing Luann's pout. He smiled, took her hand, and led her to the greenhouse.

It was huge, probably a few thousand square feet. Luann finally cracked a smile.

It had been a while since Luann last streamed, so she announced she'd be going live that afternoon.

[You still remember us?]

[I'm so touched, I'm about to cry.]

[Why no big updates lately? It used to be one after another, and now it's so quiet. It's kinda weird!]

Everyone jumped into the stream only to see someone digging in the distance.

[Did I click the wrong stream?]

[What's going on? Did Luann move to the countryside?]

[That has to be Luann.]

[Isn't she gonna come over and say hi?]

Turns out, Luann had just started streaming and spent the whole time digging, moving closer and farther from the camera.

[She's really good at this.]

[I'm new here, what exactly is she doing?]

Luann dug for an hour, and everyone watched for an hour. The viewer count kept climbing.

[My mom asked why I'm watching Luann dig.]

[Is she really that good at planting?]

[The door opened, who's here?]

Myron walked in, holding a glass of room-temp lemonade. He walked up to Luann and gently wiped the sweat from her forehead with a towel. "Why didn't you call me when you started working?" he asked, concerned.

Luann's smile was bright, her eyes clear. Her bangs were damp with sweat, making her look a bit playful and cute. "Planting stuff is something I gotta do myself."

Myron grabbed her wrist, not letting her pull away. Seeing her red palms, his face darkened. "They're a bit chafed."

Luann quickly said, "It's nothing. It doesn't hurt at all!"

Myron, without a word, pulled her to leave. "Let's go put some ointment on."

"No, I'm almost done." Luann didn't move, her big, bright eyes blinking pitifully at him, like a cute little kitten. Then she stood on tiptoe and gave Myron a quick kiss on the cheek.

Myron's expression softened. "Then I'll stay with you."

Luann nodded. "Okay."

Then she remembered something. "I think I'm still live streaming. But it's been so long, there probably aren't many people watching."

Luann walked over and picked up her phone. Over a hundred million people were online.

[Showing off your love live?]

[I've been single for so long, I don't even know what having a girlfriend feels like.]

[I'm curious, what is Luann planting?]

The comments were flying by so fast that Luann could only respond to the ones she saw, "We're not showing off, this is just our daily life! I've had lunch, how about you guys? I'm planning to plant sunflowers, don't ask why, just because I want to!"

[Luann is truly one of a kind! Even her planting is so unique!]

[I'm so pumped, make sure to show us when they bloom!]

[Are you planting sunflowers because you're the designer for Sunflower?]

[Will there be a discount if we buy Sunflower products from you?]

[Luann, are you going to the charity gala this weekend?]

Among the flood of messages, Luann spotted this one. "Yep, I'll be there."

[What charity gala? How come I don't know about it?]

[It's a big event with a bunch of celebs and business folks.]

As Luann was smiling and reading everyone's comments, John suddenly showed up. "Mr. Alvin Curtis and Ms. Emma Curtis are here, waiting in the front hall."

Myron asked coldly, "What do they want?"

"Seems like it's about the charity gala."

Hearing this, Luann quickly said goodbye to everyone and ended the stream.

As soon as she got to the front hall, Emma excitedly rushed over and grabbed Luann's arm. "Luann, do you know about the charity gala? Are you going? If you go, can you take me with you? Ernest will be there! But I definitely can't get in."

Emma pretended to wipe away non-existent tears, pouring her heart out to Luann.

Sitting on the couch playing with his phone, Alvin looked up helplessly and said, "Just take her with you, or she'll nag you to death."

Emma had actually known about this two days ago and had been wanting to find Luann. But since Myron was now her nominal teacher, and she had previously offended him, she didn't dare come alone. So she kept pestering Alvin to accompany her.

"Alright." Luann agreed, it wasn't a big deal anyway.

Hearing this, Alvin immediately stood up. "In that case, I'll join in the fun too. I'll see what your favorite celebrity looks like."

Emma snorted, "Definitely much more handsome than you!"

Alvin rolled his eyes.

"How's your sister doing lately?" Luann brought up Grace.

Emma shook her head. "Same as always, doesn't want to see anyone. She even went out recently, and Mom doesn't know where she went."

Luann raised an eyebrow. It seemed this had hit Grace pretty hard. But she was never one to stay quiet. She was probably plotting something behind the scenes.

Luann reminded them, "Alright, you two get ready in the next couple of days, and remember to wear formal attire to the event."

Emma lowered her voice. "Luann, can you help me pick out a couple of pretty dresses? I don't trust Alvin's taste. I want to look my best when I meet my idol."

Alvin retorted, "I'll definitely be the most dashing guy there. Just wait and see!"

On the day of the gala, Luann drove to pick them up.

Emma was wearing a dress Luann had chosen, with high heels, walking unsteadily, clearly not used to them.

Luann asked, "Where's Alvin? Isn't he with you?"

Emma shook her head. "He said he went to get styled, but he should be here soon..."

Before she could finish, a voice came from behind. "Hey, I'm over here, bring the car around."

Luann turned around to see Alvin with his hair slicked back, shining in the sunlight, and a suit he had modified into a hip-hop style. It was quite an eyesore.
