Chapter 354 On the Same Front
Joshua thought it was totally unfair.
He experienced how Luann had felt when she was framed.
But he couldn't stand up to Vito. So he just took it quietly.
Joshua packed his stuff into a big box, feeling down.
As he left, he stared at his office for a while, looking conflicted.
This felt like a real goodbye.
In a sports car outside, Grace watched Joshua leave, looking pitiful. After hearing the report from the person next to her, she sneered.
"Joshua's been kicked out and sent to Aspire Securities. That place is dead. He's just wasting time there."
Grace smirked. "Good."
She thought, 'Betray me with Luann? Even if he's my brother, I won't tolerate it.'
Joshua walked to the parking lot.
By his car, a boy was sitting cross-legged, eating a sandwich. "Hey, scram."
Joshua kicked Hill's leg in disgust.
Hill winced and smiled. "I'm watching your car. How about a tip?"
Joshua's mouth twitched. "Are you that desperate for money?"
Hill wiggled a finger. "No, just seeing how much I can beg in a day."
Joshua swore. "Begging? You're just extorting people!"
Hill looked surprised. "Hey, I'm a beggar with ethics. No cheating or extortion here!"
Joshua's mouth twitched again. "Really?"
It had clearly happened to him!
Hill put down the sandwich, stood on tiptoe, and hugged Joshua's neck.
"You've helped me a lot. I'll be your buddy. Let's not fuss."
Though Hill was dirty, he didn't smell bad.
Joshua looked confused.
Hill often came for food, sleep, and a shower, but he always ended up dirty again.
"Get lost! Don't touch me!"
Joshua was in a terrible mood after getting fired.
Hill noticed. "What's up? Not happy?"
Joshua didn't answer.
"Want me to help?" Hill waved his wrist. "I'll beat you up so you'll forget what just happened."
Joshua gritted his teeth. "Are you nuts?"
"No, just speaking from experience."
Joshua muttered "lunatic" and opened the car door.
Hill got in quickly.
He sat up straight and buckled his seatbelt.
Joshua couldn't take it anymore. "I'm busy. I have important stuff to do!"
He still needed to find Luann to figure out what to do!
"No problem. I don't mind," Hill said, blinking his big eyes.
"How come someone like you hasn't been beaten to death yet?" Joshua gritted his teeth. Why couldn't Hill understand?
He was so clingy and really annoying.
"Alright, drive," Hill said, closing his eyes. "Wake me up when we get there."
Helpless, Joshua drove to Myron's house.
Knowing Myron's a clean freak, he didn't call Hill when they arrived.
But Hill seemed to sense it and opened his eyes. "We're here?"
"No."
"Lying is a bad habit."
"You're annoying."
"Thank you."
Hill opened the door and got out, heading inside.
Joshua stopped him. "If you want to die, go in."
Hill shrugged off his hand.
Joshua shook his head. "Don't blame me for not warning you."
When Hill appeared dirty in front of Myron, Myron's face turned grim.
He was about to have Hill thrown out when he saw Hill waving at Luann.
Myron asked coldly, "You know each other?"
Luann responded, "Yes."
Joshua, who had just walked in, didn't think much of it. After all, Luann had seen Hill begging at the company entrance.
"Why are you here?" Myron's tone was very displeased.
Joshua's eyes wandered. He and Myron had never gotten along. If it weren't for Vito's order, he wouldn't have come here.
"I got caught in the trap too." Joshua told Luann everything that had happened at the office.
He thought Luann would be very angry and complain with him after hearing it.
Unexpectedly, she just responded calmly. "So when are we going to the new company?"
Joshua was a bit surprised. "Are we really going to that lousy company? We were framed. We should find the person who set us up and get our positions back! I don't want to go to Aspire Securities."
Luann nodded. "Alright, if you don't go, I will."
Joshua was utterly baffled, thinking, 'The Luann I know wouldn't go out of her way to cause trouble, but she wouldn't let others bully her either. What's going on today? She's acting strange. Ever since she was framed, she's been different—no resistance, no rebuttal, just accepting being dismissed.'
"Don't you feel wronged? We didn't do anything wrong."
Luann's words were somewhat meaningful, as if she had guessed the reason. "But as long as we're at the main company, we'll face being framed. It's better to go to another company and be the general manager ourselves, then no one will bother us."
Joshua was silent for a moment. "That makes some sense."
Luann responded, "Then pick me up tomorrow at 8 AM, and we'll go to the company together."
Joshua nodded decisively. "No problem! I'll be there on time!"
After saying that, Joshua felt a moment of daze, thinking back to when he first met Luann—they were at odds.
Now, they were on the same side, working hard for the company together.
Just thinking about it made him a little excited!
Myron, who had been silent, finally spoke, "Do you two think I don't exist?"
