Chapter 130: Warming Ginger Soup
Eddy had the urge to just throw this woman away. But as soon as he looked up, he met her innocent and adorable gaze that almost choked him. Every bit of negativity in his heart was swiftly extinguished by his own hands.
He reluctantly sent Holly back.
"Come in and sit. It's raining heavily outside. Wait here until it stops."
Holly's feet touched the ground and she immediately entered the living room.
"You're completely soaked. Let me go upstairs and get you some towels. Wait here."
Eddy looked at the dripping water on Holly's body, creating a pool on the floor. He couldn't help but feel a headache coming on. After advising Holly, he went upstairs.
In the master bedroom, he took down two towels and prepared some hot water in the bathtub.
Holly stood there bored, absentmindedly picking at her hands. When she heard a sound, she looked up.
Eddy was only wearing a thin white shirt, which became even more revealing and enticing after being soaked by the rain, highlighting his powerful and muscular abdomen.
Gulp—
Holly swallowed her saliva.
The next second, a towel covered her head, blocking out all light.
"What are you doing?!"
"Why are you blindfolded?"
Eddy grabbed the towel and roughly rubbed her hair, causing Holly to cry out in pain. However, she couldn't escape from his grip.
Eddy wrapped the towel around her and secured it.
"Wrap yourself up and go upstairs to take a bath."
"Don't let the water on your body drip on the floor. It's difficult to clean up."
Hearing Eddy's nagging, Holly muttered reluctantly.
"So annoying..."
"Hurry up!"
Holly immediately scampered upstairs.
She pushed open the bathroom door, and mist filled the air, enveloping her in a comfortable warmth.
Holly took off her slippers and walked over, curious as she reached out to touch the water.
"You can't tell, but this uncle is actually quite caring."
After a pause, she rolled her eyes.
"Who knows, he might have learned this from many women. Hmph..."
She casually tossed a piece of rose soap into the water, which quickly dissolved and produced lots of fluffy foam.
Holly settled into the water, closing her eyes in contentment.
Meanwhile, Eddy was downstairs cleaning the floor.
Holly's house didn't have any servants, but it was obvious that someone must come to clean and tidy up every day. Otherwise, with the clothes all over the bed and floor in such a mess, it wouldn't be this clean.
"Why is there still a discarded snack bag here?"
"Jelly wrapper..."
"And half a pack of spicy noodles left..."
Although Eddy didn't have a cleanliness obsession, he was amazed by Holly's talent for being scatterbrained.
After quickly and neatly tidying up, he sat on the sofa and waited for her.
He waited and waited for half an hour.
Eddy sensed that something was not right and quickly went upstairs, knocking on the bathroom door.
"Holly?"
"Holly, are you in there?"
"Are you done with your shower?"
There was no sound coming from the bathroom.
Eddy grew anxious. He placed his hand on the doorknob and turned it gently. The door opened easily.
He burst in and saw Holly lying in the bathtub amidst the swirling mist.
Has she caught a cold and fainted from a fever? Eddy's heart suddenly clenched, and he was about to step forward when he heard the sound of a leisurely music playing from beside him. Meanwhile, Holly was sleeping soundly, drooling all over.
"This guy..." Eddy lightly touched the water and noticed that it had turned cold. He immediately turned on the hot water and put his hand into the bottom of the bathtub to release the stopper, letting the water flow continuously.
Perhaps the hot water that was released woke Holly up. Her gaze was blurry as she opened her eyes, and she happened to see Eddy reaching into the water.
Coincidentally, Eddy touched her leg.
"You pervert!" Holly screamed, splashing huge water droplets all over Eddy, soaking him from head to toe.
"Get out! Get out!" Eddy quickly retreated, flustered and panicking.
"Alright, alright, I'm leaving, I'm leaving," he said.
After leaving the bathroom, Eddy's clothes were completely soaked. He sighed heavily and, with a headache, said, "I'm going back now, make sure you don't fall back asleep."
With that, he quickly walked out of the villa.
...
Luann entered the room.
Myron, sitting in the living room watching TV, immediately stood up when he heard the noise. He looked at Luann with a sharp gaze, assessing her from head to toe, relieved to see that she wasn't wet from the rain.
"I have ginger soup simmering on the stove to keep you warm. Sit here and rest for a while, I'll bring it to you," Myron said.
When Luann heard the words "ginger soup," her good mood, from buying a cake, disappeared instantly. She looked at him with a face full of grievances and said, "I don't want to drink..."
"No, you have to drink it," Myron insisted. He pulled Luann to sit down and brought a bowl of ginger soup water from the kitchen.
The aroma was strong and pungent.
Myron scooped up a spoonful with his hand and brought it to her lips.
Luann, with a mournful face, kept moving back.
"I won't drink it, I won't drink no matter what today!" Not having ginger was her last stubbornness!
"Luann, don't make a fuss," Myron said.
"I didn't really catch a cold. I'm wearing the coat you gave me," Luann said with a sigh of relief.
Myron fell silent for a moment and suddenly put down the bowl.
Luann quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
But little did she expect that Myron took a sip himself.
He held Luann's chin and kissed her with a domineering and straightforward manner.
Luann widened her eyes and struggled, her hands pressed against his chest, feeling a trickle flowing into her mouth, exploding with the taste of ginger.
"Do you still not want to drink?" Myron raised an eyebrow, his ink-black eyes filled with a playful smile.
"Then I'll keep feeding you," he said.
Luann immediately snatched the bowl and said, "I'll drink..."
After speaking, she drank it all in one gulp.
Her beautiful features wrinkled, and Luann coughed repeatedly from being choked.
Myron put a candy in her mouth and gently stroked her soft black hair.
"You're a good girl."
Luann was still sulking because of this, sleeping with her back to Myron until she fell asleep.
Myron wasn't in a hurry; sooner or later, she would come over.
Half an hour later, he embraced his sweet-smelling wife and slept soundly.
However, in the midst of the late night, a group chat kept buzzing.
Joshua sat on the railing of the second floor, clutching his vibrating phone, frantically sending out red envelopes.
Each red envelope contained 201 yuan, with one being sent every minute, his intentions clear and straightforward.
"Vote for number two," he declared.
The people he had brought in were those who had not yet voted.
His objective was obvious; he wanted their support.
Since he couldn't openly compete with Luann, he couldn't blame himself for using other methods.
"Director, is the second design yours?" someone asked.
"Oh my goodness! I thought that was Luann's!" another exclaimed.
Behind the screens of their phones, the employees were incredibly shocked. They couldn't believe that Luann's design had surpassed Joshua's.
In reality, there was no comparison between the two...
Joshua felt a bit embarrassed by their remarks.
But it was better to lose face in front of a small group of people than in front of the entire company.
With a determined face, he responded.
"Well, the design for number two is mine, and I hope you all can vote for me."
"If I win this competition, I promise I won't disappoint you all."
