Chapter 402 Hair Scrunchie

Everyone was on the edge, waiting to see what Luann would do next. Would she drop a long post explaining everything, maybe even apologize to everyone, including Mike, for screwing up as a public figure? Or would she call Juliet a liar and tell everyone not to buy her BS?

Finally, Luann posted on Facebook. The internet went wild, thinking the drama was about to hit the fan.

Luann wrote: [Just had dinner at this bomb restaurant. Food was fire. Mr. Curtis kept blowing his nose 'cause it was too spicy.]

In the pic, Myron's nose was a bit red, and his eyes were watery. He looked over, his sharp features softened, like a fierce beast turning into a cuddly kitten.

Users began to comment.

[Am I on the wrong channel?]

[Juliet's getting totally ignored!]

[Does Myron have to look so adorable?]

[Mr. Curtis, you used to be so different!]

[Shouldn't Luann clear things up?]

[Why clear up something she didn't do? Luann wouldn't waste time on a clown!]

[They look so happy. I want a hubby like that too.]

[Am I the only one who noticed the hair scrunchie on Mr. Curtis's wrist?]

After posting, Luann put her phone down. A plate loaded with food was handed over. It was a meal Myron had carefully made for her.

"Hey, watch your hair," Myron said softly.

Luann casually brushed her hair aside and rummaged through her bag for a hair scrunchie but came up empty.

A hand reached over, gathering her hair and braiding it perfectly, then tying it with a scrunchie.

Luann raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised. "When did you learn to do hair?" She remembered the first time Myron tried; it was a total mess.

But now, Myron lifted his chin proudly, the soft light highlighting his jawline. His eyes, full of tenderness, had a hint of seeking approval. "I can do any hairstyle now."

Luann patted his hair. "Great job!"

The next day, Luann went to Aspire Securities like usual. As soon as she walked in, everyone greeted her. "Morning, Ms. Weaver."

"Morning." Luann went to her seat, spun her finger on the chair back, and sank into it. A shadow suddenly loomed over her.

Luann paused her eating and magazine browsing, and said softly, "You're blocking my light."

Joshua gritted his teeth, sat beside her, and lowered his voice. "Hey, what's going on? Juliet's trashing you online, why don't you clear things up?"

He'd been in the thick of it yesterday too, even made a fake account to trash Juliet and back up Luann.

Luckily, people could see through the BS. Even though Juliet had bought fake supporters, most folks still believed Luann.

Luann shrugged, "What she said is true, why should I bother clarifying?"

"Even if it's true, you should..." Joshua froze, "Wait, it's true?"

Luann nodded. "Yep."

Joshua was stunned for a sec. Then he snapped out of it. "You're joking! I know you better than that!"

After all the time they'd spent together, Joshua knew Luann wouldn't pull something like that. She'd helped him out a ton, even when he was a jerk at first.

"I'm not joking." Luann looked at him seriously.

Joshua's jaw dropped, speechless. After a long pause, he finally said, "Anyway, it's your business, I can't butt in. Besides, even if it's true, there's gotta be more to it."

Seeing Luann about to speak, Joshua raised his hand, making a stopping gesture. "Don't tell me. I don't wanna know."

With that, Joshua got up and went back to his seat.

Luann shook her head, a bit helpless.

After lunch, they had a meeting. It had been over a month since their last investment. Aspire Securities had raked in a lot of dough, and it was time to make the next move.

As usual, the team had a list of ten companies to consider. Everyone took turns talking, then looked eagerly at Luann and Joshua.

Joshua cleared his throat, knowing his own skills. But he wasn't banking on Luann. He was here to learn, not to lean. So, he carefully broke down the pros and cons of each company, then asked, "Ms. Weaver, what do you think?"

Luann finally tore her eyes away from her game. Casually, she said, "I think you make a lot of sense."

Her words were so unconvincing it was hard to tell if she was serious or just humoring him.

She added, "But given the current trend, this investment will probably just break even at best."

Joshua humbly asked, "Which company do you think we should go for?"

"I think the sixth one looks good."

"Alright, the sixth one it is!"

This time, no one dared to disagree.

After the meeting, Joshua eagerly approached Luann. "Is this company yours too?"

Luann replied, "Of course not."

"Then why do you think the sixth one is good? Any tips?"

Luann looked at him, surprised. "Just a hunch. You asked me, so I glanced at the list, and the sixth company's name appealed to me the most, so I picked it."

Joshua said, "That's it?"
