Chapter 489 Spousal Competition
In the quiet hallway.
The sound of footsteps echoed as shoes hit the floor.
The door was gently pushed open.
Adolph, dressed in a fitted white coat, carried a medical tray with several bottles of medicine on it.
"Still not resting?"
Elodie, half-lying on the hospital bed reading a magazine, looked up at the sound, placing the magazine on her knees and slightly clasping her hands.
Her small face was as radiant as jade, and her complexion had improved significantly.
"Yeah, it's been a long time since I've had such leisure. I don't want to give up this quiet time."
In the past, she was busy every day with schedules and filming, wishing she could turn twenty-four hours into forty-eight.
Chaotic routines were a common occurrence.
But now, during the day, Mira chatted with her, occasionally watching shows and gossiping.
At night, when Mira went to sleep in another ward, she would enjoy reading magazines.
Adolph adjusted his silver-rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose and walked forward unhurriedly, helping her change the nearly empty bottle of medicine.
He then handed her a few books.
"These should be to your liking."
Elodie was slightly taken aback.
"Thank you."
"But how did you know I would like these?"
Adolph just smiled without speaking.
His observational skills had always been good.
Elodie didn't overthink it.
"Alright, get some sleep early." Adolph advised, smiling lightly as he left.
After leaving the ward, he contacted Luann.
[How's it going? Have you arrived?]
Luann quickly replied to the text: [Yes, I'm already resting at the hotel.]
[Tomorrow is the new bidding, make sure to be in good spirits.]
[Don't worry, Adolph.]
Luann took a shower, and when she came out, she found several messages from Myron.
[Finished with the Sunflower project?]
[You've worked hard these past two days.]
Luann rolled on the bed twice, smiling lightly.
Her pale pink fingertips gently tapped on the screen.
[It's all done.]
Myron quickly responded: [Then take a couple of days to rest. I'll send you my address later; I still have a few days of work here.]
Luann yawned: [Okay, okay!]
After ending the chat, Luann put down her phone and fell asleep.
She didn't even see the city address Myron sent an hour later.
She had been busy shooting the Sunflower promo and then rushed over here, so she was exhausted.
Luann was woken up by the alarm clock.
She lazily turned over in bed, her face buried in the pillow, and a muffled voice came out: "Honey, I'm so tired, carry me to wash my face."
Her words were mumbled, clearly not fully awake.
Eight o'clock sharp.
In the meeting room at the bidding site, representatives from each company were already seated.
Only two companies' seats were empty.
"MLO Company didn't show up at the last bidding. I wonder if they'll come this time?"
"Wow, I can't believe that mysterious company is actually the Miller family's. It's unbelievable."
"What? The Miller family? What's going on? How do you know?"
"Hehe, about half a month ago, I made a deal with another subsidiary of the Miller family and saw Adolph. I recognized him as the one who came to the last bidding."
"Oh my god, that's incredible!"
"So, which do you think is more powerful, the Miller family or MLO Company?"
"Is that even a question? Of course, it's the Miller family! The Miller family has a strong influence in half of Aeldora."
"I don't think so. MLO Company is a relatively new company, with a history of just ten years, yet it can rival the Miller family. It's clear who's more powerful."
"Tsk, that's only because the Miller family's real boss hasn't stepped in. Adolph is just a vice president."
At this point, everyone fell silent.
Because they heard some movement at the door.
All the other companies were already present, so the next person to enter had to be from either the Miller family or MLO Company.
As the door was opened by two bodyguards.
A tall, distinguished figure appeared in everyone's sight.
Myron, dressed in a well-tailored black suit, wore the exquisite cufflinks Luann had bought for him. His broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long legs, along with his exceptionally young appearance, left many people stunned.
His aura was cold and imposing, and his eyes, filled with authority, swept over everyone present.
Andrew stood behind him, "Mr. Curtis, shall we go in?"
Myron responded with a faint "hmm" and walked to his seat, sitting down.
Andrew then spoke softly.
"MLO Company, present."
Everyone gasped, sneaking glances at Myron with a mix of curiosity and fear.
So, this was the legendary, mysterious president of MLO Company?
He was so young!
After snapping out of their daze, people began to greet Myron.
Myron remained cold and indifferent throughout, showing no significant reaction.
When the clock struck 8:30.
The bidding officially began.
"What’s going on? MLO Company didn't come last time, and now the Miller family isn't here?"
"What are these two companies up to?"
Everyone was intimidated by Myron's presence, whispering among themselves without letting him hear.
Myron leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes slightly.
His long, slender fingers, with distinct knuckles, rested on his leg, tapping lightly and leisurely.
"Alright, the time has come. Let's start the bidding."
Everyone nodded in agreement, having no objections.
As the bidding began, Myron's offers were decisive, quickly securing the project.
Andrew breathed a sigh of relief.
He had expected a tough battle today, but it turned out to be so smooth.
"Sorry, sorry, I'm here..."
The door was slammed open by Luann, her hair slightly messy, and beads of sweat on her forehead.
Her sudden and swift appearance left everyone stunned.
Luann's words were cut off because she saw Myron sitting in his seat?
Luann blinked, a bit confused.
Myron looked at her, a faint smile curling at the corner of his lips.
He hadn't expected Luann to rush over to find him.
He had only sent the address last night, and she was already here today.
She probably hadn't rested much and must be exhausted.
Luann awkwardly took two steps back.
"Did I go to the wrong room?"
But the address Adolph gave her was this one!
Wait a minute.
Aren't those nameplates on the conference tables the names of other companies?
Luann quickly realized a serious problem.
Her gaze fell on the table where Myron was sitting.
"MLO Company?"
