Chapter 381 Are You Sleeping?
Today, Luann's all about flaunting her love. She quickly posted more pics.
[Is the island ready?]
[Luann looks stunning, and Myron's so handsome!]
[My boyfriend's perfect. Doesn't game, smoke, drink, or fight. He doesn't exist.]
[Model couple!]
Luann loved reading the comments.
Then she noticed something. "Huh? Why do I have so many followers now?"
Myron checked. "Seventy million."
"Yeah, it wasn't this many before."
Myron smiled. "If people knew you founded Sunflower, you'd have even more. Now, stop reading and wash up for dinner."
"Okay," Luann replied.
Some folks were envious, and some were just plain jealous.
Juliet was about to sleep when she saw the news. Seeing Myron's romantic proposal to Luann, she almost ripped her bedsheet.
"Juliet." Wilber came upstairs with a bowl of hot soup.
He sat by the bed, stirring and blowing on the soup. "My mom made this for you. Since we signed the marriage agreement, we're officially a couple. How about letting her live with us to take care of you?"
Juliet's eyes stayed glued to the screen. 'Why does Myron give Luann such an expensive island?'
"Juliet, don't worry. My mom's understanding. She won't hold past grudges against you. And now that you're carrying my child, she'll be sincere." Wilber kept talking, reaching for Juliet.
In a fit of anger, Juliet pulled her hand back and pushed him away.
Caught off guard, Wilber spilled the soup all over himself.
"Juliet, what are you doing?" Wilber stood up quickly, the soup scalding him.
Juliet snapped out of it. "Oh my God, Wilber, I didn't mean to."
Wilber's face darkened.
Juliet grabbed tissues to help, but he avoided her and went to the bathroom.
He took off his dirty clothes, showered, and came out in pajamas.
Juliet knelt on the bed, looking at the broken bowl, tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Wilber. I was reading news about Luann and lost control."
Wilber sighed at Juliet's upset expression. "Forget it."
He called a servant to clean up. After everything was tidy, he asked, "What happened with Luann?"
Whenever there was news about Luann, Wilber read it.
He felt both regret and hatred. He regretted almost ending up with Luann and hated that someone as heartless as her wasn't worth it!
"Myron bought an island and proposed to her. It was so romantic I watched it a few times. Then I thought, even though our relationship is good, our marriage was rushed. We got married because of the baby. If it weren't for that, you might not have been in such a hurry."
Wilber's eyelid twitched. She had a point. If he were still healthy, he'd definitely pursue Holly. But he wasn't.
"Don't say that. My feelings for you aren't just because of the baby. It's just a proposal. I'll give you an unforgettable ceremony too," Wilber said, stroking her hair.
Juliet nodded. "But about the soup, I'm sorry, Wilber. I let your mom down."
"It's okay. We'll have her make more tomorrow," Wilber replied.
"Okay." They talked as they turned off the lights and got ready to sleep.
In the dark, Juliet couldn't sleep. She snuggled into Wilber's arms and whispered, "Wilber, are you sleeping?"
Wilber's body quivered, and his heart pounded with a faint sense of unease.
Juliet chuckled. She knew all his reactions by now. "Wilber, we haven't had sex in a long time. I really want it." Her hand moved down his chest.
Before she could touch him, Wilber grabbed her hand firmly, different from his usual teasing. "Juliet," he said, trying to stay calm. "You're not past the first trimester yet. The doctor said it's too dangerous. Let's wait a bit longer for the baby's sake, okay?"
Juliet pouted. "But I really want it, Wilber."
Wilber gritted his teeth. "Be good. I'll take you shopping for bags tomorrow."
"Wilber, but I really..."
"Go to sleep."
Juliet's eyes widened in disbelief. All her interest vanished. She turned over, feeling sulky. 'Do I really need Wilber? If he's not willing, there are plenty of other men lining up!'
At dawn, Juliet got a call from James.
James looked exhausted. After compensating Sunflower with so much money, the company blamed him a lot. "Juliet, I've got you a few endorsements for some niche brands. Since you don't have many scenes in the movie, take some time to shoot them."
Juliet smiled. She knew James was giving her endorsements because of Grace's failure. He didn't have any other talent available, and she was the only one who could easily be promoted to stardom.
"Thank you, James."
"Yeah, the movie is urging you to come back. You've had two days off. It's time to return to the set," James said. "Once this movie is released, you'll have a chance to make a comeback, understand?"
"Got it," Juliet replied.
James nodded and surprisingly, personally sent her off before she left.
