Chapter 90 Strange Dish

Ally and Juliet exchanged a glance, both relieved to be out of the bitter situation.

"I've lost my appetite just by looking at her. I don't feel like eating anymore."

Ally put her chopsticks down, wiped her mouth, and glanced at the time on her phone.

“It’s still early. Do you want to go shopping together?”

Juliet gently shook her head, her tone gentle. "I won't go."

"Alright then, I'll have to leave then. You finish up eating and you don't need to pay for anything. I’ve already spoken to the front desk." Ally hooked her bag with her finger and picked up her car keys.

Juliet smiled softly, hiding a calculating glint in her eyes.

“I know, Boss.”

This place was a restaurant that Ally acquired last year. She meticulously oversaw everything from the decoration to the dishes.

Once Ally left, Juliet’s smile slowly faded away.

She parted her red lips lightly and whispered softly.

"We met coincidentally, wouldn’t it be a shame to leave without saying hello?”

The chopsticks lightly tapped against the edge of the plate, making a crisp sound.

It sent shivers down one’s spine.

Juliet walked out of the restaurant and saw a beggar on the side of the road, dressed in tattered clothes and covered in dirt.

She walked over and kicked him.

The person looked up, a young boy of small stature.

“Do you want to earn some money?”

...

Inside a tastefully decorated private room, a pleasant incense was burning.

The soft blue lighting gave off an intoxicating ambiance.

Luann sat on the couch, delicate fingers scrolling through the dishes on the electronic screen, adding them to the cart.

“I’ve ordered a few dishes. Take a look and see what you want to eat.”

"Mmm."

A response came from behind.

Suddenly, a figure pressed up against her, shrinking the distance between them.

Large hands with distinct joints spread open, resting beside Luann, and the other hand naturally began selecting dishes.

Myron stood behind Luann, encircling her in his embrace.

Luann’s heartbeat instantly soared to 160 beats per minute.

She panicked, wanting to stand up, but found there was no way to escape.

There was a table in front of her, Myron behind her, and his arms sealing both sides.

"You... Please let me out first..."

"Wait a moment, it'll be ready in no time," Myron said casually as he ordered a few dishes and added some desserts. The refreshing scent mixed with a delightful hint of mint and the warmth of his embrace left Luann's mind in a daze, making her feel unsettled.

After ordering, Myron released her and returned to his seat. His expression remained calm and unaffected, while Luann's cheeks flushed red with shyness.

"Oh, by the way..." Myron interrupted her, "your friend, Holly?"

Luann was taken aback, wondering why he suddenly brought up Holly. She nodded and asked, "Yes, what's up?"

Taking a sip of tea, Myron concealed his complex emotions with his long lashes. "Nothing much, just thinking if we should all go out for a meal together," he said, adding, "including Eddy."

Luann didn't immediately understand and asked, "Huh?"

Myron lightly tapped his fingers on the table. Although he disliked how Holly interrupted their time together, she was still Luann's best friend.

It was said that when a girl enters a relationship, she would introduce her partner to her best friend first, seeking their evaluation and approval. Myron, being a man, shouldn't wait for Luann to bring up the topic.

Therefore, he should take the initiative.

As Luann watched Myron lost in contemplation, occasionally nodding, she blinked in confusion and helplessness. Weren't they just pretending to be a married couple? Was there a need to act so intricately?

However, Myron had done her a few favors, and today he was scolded by his grandmother again. At this juncture, she couldn't easily refuse such a request. She could only agree.

"Alright then, you decide on the timing," Luann agreed, and Myron felt even more convinced that his approach was correct. He completely missed Luann's resigned sigh.

The doorbell in the private room sounded as the waiter entered with a smile, serving them their dishes. Myron picked his chopsticks up and started plating the food for Luann.

"You don't have to worry about me, just focus on your own food," Luann said, busying herself.

"Okay," Myron agreed verbally, but every time a new dish arrived, he would still serve Luann first.

Ding-dong! The doorbell rang again, and the waiter placed another dish on the table, ready to leave.

Luann furrowed her brows and pointed at the dish that just arrived. "This dish?"

The waiter, unaware of the situation, asked, "What's wrong with this dish?"

After a brief silence, Luann spoke calmly, "I'm sorry, but the appearance and taste of this dish are both off. Can I request for a remake?"

The waiter's smile stiffened. Had they encountered a difficult customer? Without even tasting it, they started nitpicking?

The waiter immediately explained, "Miss, our chefs are among the world's best, and every dish is prepared with precise measurements and standards. Please trust our chefs and our restaurant."

"Our new restaurant has been open for half a month now, and every customer who has tasted our food speaks highly of it..."

"Eating, there should be no problem at all,"

Myron sat quietly. He knew Luann wasn't someone who liked to argue. Besides, Luann's cooking skills were truly impressive. Even the chef they specially hired couldn't make dishes as delicious as hers.

Yet, she never said anything and always finished her meals without wasting. So, it was clear that she must have proposed this dish because she really disliked it.

"Others are others, and I am me."

"Even chefs make mistakes, don't they?"

"Miss, are you questioning us by saying that?" sighed the server, with a smile gradually turning forced and a slightly displeased tone.

"You judged the dish to be bad without even tasting it. Aren't you being too difficult?"

Hearing this, Myron's eyes sharpened. He raised a cold gaze.

"Is this how you treat customers?"

The server clenched his fist. "Sir, this young lady started causing trouble first, I..."

Luann wasn't angry either and swiftly handed her a pair of unopened chopsticks.

"If you don't believe it, you can taste it."

"I will taste it!"

The server snatched it, just opening it.

Luann then said to Myron, "You go wait at the door."

Myron didn't know why, but he obediently followed her instructions.

After he was in position, the server took a big bite of the dish.

As soon as it entered her mouth, the strong and strange taste instantly exploded in her mouth!

"Eww—"

The dish didn't even last three seconds in her mouth.

Salty, sour, bitter, and stinky.

All these flavors mixed together like a hodgepodge, challenging one's taste buds.

"How is it? Delicious?" Luann remained expressionless, as if she had already anticipated this result.

The server's teeth trembled and she was about to speak, when her gaze suddenly froze.

Incredulously, she tremblingly poked around the dish with her chopsticks as if she saw something, and immediately couldn't control herself and vomited again.
