Chapter 410 Selling the House
The door slammed shut.
Brianna just stood there for what felt like forever before she finally started packing her stuff again. She picked up a photo from the bedside table. In it, the three of them were all smiles. Mike was in the middle, with her and Juliet on either side.
One of her hands was holding onto Mike's arm, and the other was holding Luann, who was standing a bit farther away, looking like she didn't really want to be in the picture.
Tears started falling, one by one. Brianna wiped them away and carefully placed the photo at the bottom of her suitcase. An hour later, she dragged three big suitcases out.
After locking the door of the Weaver Villa, Brianna stood in the front yard for a long time, taking one last look at the place she'd called home for over twenty years.
Brianna had to crash at a hotel first and then start looking for rentals online.
Luann felt a bit thirsty and headed to the kitchen to make herself a glass of juice. When she came back out, she saw Anna and John whispering in the corner.
"Grandma," Luann said, walking over and handing her the juice. "Want some?"
Anna smiled warmly and took Luann's hand. "Luann, I don't need any. I've got something special for you."
Luann's curiosity was piqued. "What is it?"
Anna gave John a look, and he quickly went upstairs and brought something down. It was a property deed and a key.
Anna said, "This is my gift to you." The property deed had Luann's name on it.
Luann asked, "Grandma, what do you mean by this?"
Anna patted Luann's hand, looking a bit mysterious. She leaned in close to Luann's ear. "Luann, I heard that newlyweds need their own space. I've been staying with Myron because I was worried he might do something crazy after his disfigurement. Now that he's better, I need to go back. Your grandpa keeps saying the house feels empty without anyone to talk to."
Luann frowned slightly. "We could still live here; you didn't have to go to all this trouble."
"When you got married in a hurry, we didn't prepare much. This isn't really a new house. A change of place can bring a change of mood. Don't refuse me; it's my heartfelt wish." Anna smiled warmly.
Although Luann was reluctant, she knew Vito probably missed Anna, so she didn't insist. "Alright, Grandma, I'll visit you often."
When she told Myron about it, he didn't react much but helped Anna pack her things. They took her to Curtis Manor and had a meal there.
During dinner, Lily glared at Luann with resentment. Luann looked much better now after all this time! Grace cried every day, locking herself in her room and seeing no one.
"Honey, eat this," Ben said, adding food to Lily's plate.
Seeing Ben's submissive behavior, Lily felt even more frustrated and couldn't help but say, "Mom, I heard you got a house for Luann and Myron?"
"Yep, young couples need a fresh start," Anna said with a smile.
Lily stabbed her food with her fork, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "You really care about them. When we got married, we didn't get such royal treatment; we had to live in the old house. Young people these days are getting more and more spoiled."
Anna chuckled, either not getting the jab or just ignoring it. "Yes, Luann is very precious to me."
Lily frowned. "Mom, there are so many kids in the family; you need to be fair."
Anna replied slowly, "You can't even be fair to your three kids, so don't worry about me."
Lily fell silent. Ben wanted to say something to back her up but couldn't find the words.
Vito, annoyed, said, "What do you want to say? Just say it."
Ben mumbled for a long time before finally saying to Myron and Luann, "I wish you happiness and hope you have a baby soon."
Lily rolled her eyes in frustration.
Anna's expression dimmed a bit. She glanced at Myron and sighed, "It's fine if young people don't want kids."
Watson was the first to object. "Kids are the fruit of love; how can you not want kids? Having a baby soon is the most important thing."
Since Myron was no longer involved in the Curtis family business, all of Watson's hopes were pinned on the unborn child. If Myron and Luann could have a child soon, it would greatly benefit their family.
Anna ignored him. Watson turned to Luann and said, "Luann, I know you're still young, but Myron is almost thirty. When I was thirty, Myron could already walk. Besides, having a child early helps the body recover faster."
Before Luann could respond, Anna slammed her utensils on the table. "What's all the fuss about? If your son is useless, what good does it do to talk to Luann about it?"
Everyone at the table was stunned. They all looked at Myron.
Myron calmly said, "Yes, I can't have children."
Watson was dumbfounded and quickly thought of a solution. "With today's technology, if it doesn't work, Luann can have a test-tube baby."
As soon as he finished speaking, he felt Myron's cold, piercing gaze. A chill enveloped him.
Myron said, "It's easy for you to say when the needle isn't in your body."
Test-tube babies were very painful and difficult for women. Myron's body was fine. Even if he had a problem, he wouldn't let Luann suffer.
Watson replied, "Every woman goes through this. Besides, having a child would complete your life."
Myron's face turned cold, anger flashing in his eyes. "No need. If you want a child, have one yourself." With that, he grabbed Luann and left the villa.
