Chapter 425 Which Was More Interesting

Luann's fans were just hanging around, waiting for the charity gala to wrap up without any drama.

After that whole mess with Luann and Mike, nobody really knew what went down, but everyone figured it was best to keep things chill. It also kept Luann out of the spotlight for the wrong reasons. But, of course, some folks just couldn't resist stirring the pot.

[Spending all that cash on yourself is cool, but when it comes to giving, you get stingy?]

[They were just bragging about their amazing relationship, even giving each other a heart-shaped island. If they're so loaded, why not donate more? Watching those kids suffer while you live it up, how do you sleep at night? No nightmares?]

[Forget it, talking to these shameless people is pointless.]

Luann's die-hard fans couldn't stay quiet anymore. They clapped back without missing a beat.

[Some people just love to talk. If you're so great, why haven't you donated a cent?]

[Luann's money just falls from the sky, huh? She can just give it away like that?]

[I didn't know donating money was a moral duty. I always thought that whether you give a buck or a hundred, it's still a good deed.]

The haters fired back right away.

[Are you kidding? I'm broke, barely scraping by, how could I donate? Don't joke, I'm still waiting for someone to help me out.]

[So sad, are you disabled? Can't make money? And you think you're all that?]

Things got heated, with neither side backing down. Then, out of nowhere, Ernest dropped a message.

Ernest: [I really don't want to see donations go from voluntary to mandatory, it loses its true meaning.]

[Is he sticking up for Luann? No way. What did I just stumble upon? Are these two connected?]

[Elodie posted just now, and then Ernest right after. Does Luann have some serious connections?]

Ernest and Jimmy were both floored when they saw the message and quickly checked Elodie's Facebook. Sure enough, there was her post from two minutes ago.

Elodie: [Jealous because the money didn't go to you?]

Jimmy frowned. "Why is Elodie defending Luann? Isn't she usually beefing with everyone in the industry?"

Ernest was just as shocked. "Yeah, I've talked to her a few times, and she's always been pretty cold. She doesn't seem to have many friends, and nobody really wants to deal with her."

Jimmy's eyes narrowed. "Well, this just proves we're on the right track."

While they were talking, Elodie's assistant Mira also noticed Ernest's post. "Does Ernest know Ms. Weaver? Why did he suddenly post that? It's so random."

Elodie glanced at the screen and smirked, looking totally unbothered.

Mira was confused. "What's with that smirk?"

"Just someone trying to score some resources," Elodie said, seeing right through Ernest's game.

Mira was shocked. "No way. Isn't Ernest doing pretty well?"

Elodie leaned back on the sofa, looking super relaxed. "Ernest is a newbie who debuted two years ago, with no connections. He's got a pretty face, but his acting skills are iffy. If he doesn't land some high-quality roles soon, his fame's gonna fizzle out."

Even though Elodie wasn't that old in the industry, her experience made a lot of people call her a senior professional. She could read people like a book. One look, and she knew what someone was hiding.

So, if someone wasn't on her level, she didn't bother with them. That was why she had a rep for being pretty aloof.

Mira got more worried. "If Ernest really has those intentions, won't it mess up Ms. Weaver and Mr. Curtis's relationship?"

Even though she hadn't met the two, she was still concerned. "Elodie, should you warn Ms. Weaver?"

Elodie looked at Mira.

Mira was quite naive and simple-hearted, without any scheming thoughts, which made her very likable to Elodie. So, she explained, "There's nothing to warn about. Given Luann's status and fame, if she wanted to have a young companion, there'd be no shortage of volunteers,, and it wouldn't be Ernest. Plus, she's smart."

With such a handsome and rich husband at home, Luann would have to be crazy to think about keeping a lover on the side.

Mira scratched her head, still puzzled.

Luann got home in the early hours. As soon as she walked in, she smelled food.

Myron came out of the kitchen with dishes, smiling gently at her. "You're back just in time. Come wash your hands and eat."

Luann changed her shoes and ran over, hugging him from behind. Her voice was playful. "How did you know I was hungry?"

"You never like these events, so you probably didn't eat much." Myron gently patted her hair and said softly, "Go on."

"Okay." Luann rubbed her face against his head, quickly washed her hands, and started eating.

After eating, Luann took a shower. When she came out, she found Myron already sitting on the bed. He was wearing a thin silk nightgown, the fabric smooth and cool to the touch.

Luann smiled, wrapped in a bathrobe, and walked over slowly.

Myron had his head down, reading a magazine.

"Is the magazine more interesting, or am I more interesting?" Luann's slender fingers pressed on the page, her pink fingertips exerting a little force.

Myron's Adam's apple moved slightly. Just as he was about to get up, Luann pressed his shoulder down. She swung her long leg over and easily sat on his lap.
