Chapter 431 Wanting a Divorce

The café was buzzing with the smell of fresh coffee. The door to the private room swung open, and in walked Grace, decked out in full gear.

Even though the online chatter about her had died down, if she got spotted, someone would definitely snap a pic.

"Grace," Juliet called out from the sofa, a smug smile on her face. She slid a cup towards Grace's spot. "I know you love mocha."

Grace took off her mask, her face blank. She picked up the cup and took a sip. "How've you been?"

Juliet leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands, her voice brimming with excitement. "Pretty good. That contact you gave me was gold. I've already landed a supporting role. Filming starts next month."

Grace nodded. "That's great. Keep it steady, don't rush. With me out of the picture, James will definitely clear the path for you. I'll hook you up with some directors. You'll get a good spot for sure." By then, Juliet could also help her make a comeback in the entertainment world.

Juliet chuckled lightly, "I'll never forget what you've done for me."

Just then, her phone lit up. Wilber's name flashed on the screen. She quickly hung up.

Wilber called again. Juliet frowned and turned off her phone.

Grace's eyes narrowed, catching a glimpse of Juliet's screen with clear disdain. "Why's he calling you?"

Juliet was taken aback by Grace's question, realizing Grace knew Wilber too.

At that party, Juliet had fallen onto broken glass after Holly pushed her. She'd been too busy dealing with her injuries to know what went down between Grace and Wilber. Plus, the Curtis family had hushed it up so fast, she hadn't heard a thing.

"You and Wilber used to be a thing, right?" Grace knew all about Luann, Wilber, and Juliet.

Juliet's eyes darted around, feeling a bit uneasy. Her contract with Dawn Talent Agency said no dating. If Grace found out, she'd have leverage over her.

Juliet tried to sound casual. "Yeah, we were a couple. Then Luann kept butting in and pulled him back. He was obsessed with getting her back."

Grace sneered, "He won't be thinking that anymore."

Luann knew something was off with the drink but didn't warn Wilber, leading to what happened between him and Grace. Later, she messed up his manhood. Luann was behind it all. So, Wilber could never get back with Luann.

Juliet asked, confused, "Why?"

Grace replied, "Because he can't be a man anymore."

Juliet's eyes went wide.

The doorbell rang persistently. But there was no movement inside.

Juliet lay back on the sofa, legs crossed, slowly eating half a watermelon. Her phone on the table kept flashing with missed calls and unread messages.

Messages popped up frantically on the screen.

Wilber: [Juliet, let me in! We need to talk!]

Wilber: [I know you're upset about losing the baby, but you have to believe, I'm even more heartbroken.]

Wilber: [I wanted us to have a baby too, but now that things are like this, we should focus on our future instead of dwelling on the past.]

Wilber: [Juliet, please, let's meet.]

Wilber typed with one hand while pressing the doorbell with the other. He was angry and anxious, wanting to kick the door open, but he couldn't. It would only scare Juliet away.

Juliet was already unwilling to forgive him because of his mother's mistake, so he didn't dare to push further. He had no leverage now.

Juliet glanced at the messages, recalling Grace's words, and quickly typed a response: [There's nothing more to say. Your family has disappointed me too much. Let's get a divorce.]

Wilber's face turned pale when he saw the message. He started banging on the door instead of pressing the doorbell. "Juliet! Don't divorce me! I'll agree to anything you want, buy you anything you want, do you hear me?"

Juliet rolled her eyes at his shouting, put on her Bluetooth earphones, and leisurely played some music.

Wilber's voice became hoarse from shouting, but Juliet didn't come out. He sat dejectedly on the steps in front of the door, his head buried in his knees in frustration.

His phone rang at that moment. Without looking, Wilber answered immediately, overjoyed, "Juliet, you finally..."

Before he could finish, a steady male voice came from the other end, "Wilber, come back. I have something to discuss with you."

Wilber's face immediately darkened. "If it weren't for Mom, would Juliet and I be in this mess? Now the baby is gone. Juliet won't talk to me, and she even wants a divorce!"

Micah sighed, "If you want to win Juliet back, come back quickly. I have something important to discuss."

Wilber hesitated for a moment and stood up. He took one last look at the closed door behind him and decided to go back and hear what they had to say.

When he got home, Wilber only saw Micah sitting on the sofa. Madeline probably knew her presence would upset him, so she hid in the room.

There was only a contract on the tidy table. Micah pushed it in front of Wilber.

Wilber opened it and was stunned. "This is a Gilbert Group stock transfer agreement?"

The company Wilber had started was actually separate from the Gilbert Group. Over the years, he had no shares in the Gilbert Group.

The Gilbert Group was built by Micah and Madeline when they were young, and since he was their only child, Wilber hadn't cared about the shares. After all, they would finally give the shares to him.

Wilber asked, "What does this mean?"

"Wilber, although Juliet lost the baby, I still want to say, whether you believe it or not, your mother would never do such a thing," Micah quickly changed the subject, "I've been thinking, given your condition, even if you never have children, you shouldn't be without a partner. It might be difficult to find another wife, but if you offer Juliet some benefits, maybe she'll stay with you."
