Chapter 377 The Scent of Perfume

Luann gawked at her phone, totally floored. "Myron's got some serious nerve!"

"Screw it. I'll just grab some takeout," she grumbled, ditching the chef's cooking.

After munching down her food, she crashed for a nap. When she woke up, it was already past six, and the sky looked all gloomy.

Her phone showed over twenty missed calls from Holly. Right then, Holly called again.

"Luann! Why the heck haven't you answered? It's urgent!" Holly sounded like she was losing it.

Luann yawned, still half-asleep. "I was dead tired and passed out. What's going on?"

Holly hesitated, then let out a big sigh. "You need to brace yourself for this."

Luann blinked. "Did our company go belly up?"

"No," Holly replied.

"Is Sarah MIA?"

"No."

"Are you stuck in the bathroom without TP?"

"It's way more serious than that!"

"Did the paper rip?" Luann asked, trying to keep a straight face.

Holly screamed, "Ah! I saw Myron with another chick!"

Luann shot up, finally serious.

"Didn't you realize that Myron hardly contacted you while you were away?"

"Yeah." Luann nodded. "Every time I called, he said he was busy or hit me up the next morning saying he crashed."

"And you bought that?"

"No, I thought he was up all night gaming and didn't want to tick me off."

Holly paused. "Come on! Myron doesn't even game."

Luann coughed. "So, what went down?"

Holly sighed. "I've seen Myron at bars with another woman, looking super cozy."

"No way! You sure it was him?"

"My eyesight's 20/20. I even snapped some pics! Sending them now."

Holly sent over several photos. Though blurry, Luann recognized Myron right away.

"Think he's cheating?" Holly asked.

"No way. Maybe it's a work buddy," Luann said firmly.

"Just be careful. You've been gone for like half a month," Holly warned.

"Got it," Luann replied, feeling uneasy all night.

In the wee hours, the door finally creaked open.

Myron looked surprised. "You're still up?"

Luann pressed her lips together and got up to help him with his coat. A strong perfume scent hit her nose, making her cough.

"What's that smell?" she asked.

Myron's face stayed blank. "I spilled a bottle of perfume while driving today."

"But this is women's perfume, right?" Luann pushed.

"Is it? Maybe it's one you bought," he replied.

"I don't use this brand. Don't you know that?" she pouted.

Myron frowned a bit. "I'll remember that. I'm beat. I need to crash."

Luann hesitated but kept quiet. She trusted Myron and knew his job involved female colleagues. She didn't want to come off as paranoid.

The next morning, Myron was up early.

"Why are you up so early?" Luann asked, puzzled.

Myron, usually quick to leave, was checking himself out in the mirror, dressing up. "Got some stuff to handle. I might have to leave the Upper West Side for a bit."

"But I just got back yesterday," Luann said, stunned.

Myron smiled, kissed her forehead. "I'll be back in two or three days."

Holly's words echoed in Luann's mind. She couldn't help but ask, "Where are you going? Can't you take me with you?"

"I'll take you next time, okay?" Myron checked the time. "I gotta bounce."

Luann watched him leave, totally confused. Alone at home, she couldn't stop overthinking.

In the afternoon, she hit up Holly and they met at a coffee shop.

"Holly, I think I should ask Eddy about something. He might know where Myron's at."

"You mean Myron's trip today?" Holly asked.

"You know?" Luann was stunned.

"Eddy mentioned it. We live together now, so I get the scoop first-hand." Holly showed her a picture. "Myron went to this island."

"Isn't this an undeveloped island? What's he doing there?" Luann asked.

"I don't know, but Eddy said Myron went with that woman," Holly replied.

"How can I get there?" Luann asked after a moment of silence.

"You can take a private jet," Holly suggested.

"I'm going right now," Luann said, jumping up eagerly.

She left in a hurry, not even packing.

After Luann left, Holly sighed in relief.

"Not bad, your acting skills are pretty solid." A hand suddenly landed on Holly's shoulder.
