Chapter 474 Are You Kidding Me?
After hanging up the phone, Luann realized that Myron was no longer by her side.
She had no choice but to wait for a while.
About five or six minutes later, Myron came back with a bag and handed it to her.
"Eat this on the way." Myron cooed.
Luann looked inside and realized that Myron had gone to pack some food for her.
"Yeah, there's a bit of an emergency at the company, so we'll have to meet up tonight." Luann extended her hand, hooking her pinky finger with Myron's, her toes tapping lightly.
Myron's lips curved into a faint smile, devoid of any trace of anger, as he responded softly, "Okay."
Luann chuckled softly, gave him a kiss, and then swiftly left.
At this moment, Elodie and Mira were sitting anxiously in the lounge.
They thought they could just pay some compensation and terminate the contract. But they didn't expect to alarm the boss of Sunflower.
It seemed that this time they had really fallen out of favor with Sunflower.
Mira understood this as well and asked the question that Elodie couldn't bring herself to ask.
"We're really sorry about this."
"But, but your boss came here personally?"
"Isn't that too much trouble for her?" Mira uttered with concern.
The employee smiled faintly. "Yeah, we had informed the boss in advance about Ms. Rivera being the spokesperson for Sunflower this year, and the boss had no objections."
"Now that the contract is suddenly terminated, finding a model that meets Sunflower's needs on short notice is not an easy task." The employee continued.
"Moreover, we need to discuss the follow-up solutions." There was a hint of regret in her words.
Elodie really had great potential and was also quite popular.
If things had gone smoothly, Elodie's name could have made a significant impact abroad.
Listening to her words, Mira felt even more guilty.
She could only blame the excellent service attitude of Sunflower's staff.
When they came to explain the need to terminate the contract due to hospitalization, their first reaction was not anger or reprimand but deep concern for Elodie's health, urging her to listen to the doctor and not to overwork herself.
Mira was almost in tears. She would have preferred if the Sunflower staff had scolded them, so she could feel a bit better.
The two of them were on pins and needles.
Elodie, who had won numerous awards, was now clutching her dress, repeatedly rehearsing in her mind what she was going to say and apologize for.
Suddenly, the door moved.
Elodie and Mira stood up in unison. The words were on the tip of their tongues, ready to be spoken.
But it was just an employee coming in to refill their water. The employee didn't forget to reassure them: "Please wait a little longer, the boss is on the way."
"Okay." Elodie and Mira nodded, with a glance exchanged, both seeing the melancholy in each other's eyes.
They didn't know how long had passed when the door sounded again.
Their actions were the same as before. But it still wasn't the boss.
"Ms. Weaver." Elodie greeted her.
Luann walked in and sat across from her.
Her tone was filled with concern.
"I heard you fainted and want to terminate the contract. What's going on?" Luann asked.
Since Luann was a designer at Sunflower, Elodie concealed nothing from her and divulged everything.
"I really wanted to postpone it for two days, but Mr. Miller's words really scared me," Elodie replied. "I weighed my options, and the only thing I could give up was Sunflower."
After hearing this, Luann patted her shoulder and said, "It's okay, your health is the most important."
Mira suddenly grabbed Luann's hand, her eyes red.
"Ms. Weaver, can you put in a good word for us with your boss?" Mira begged.
"We will definitely pay the penalty fee, just don't blacklist us."
"You don't know how happy Elodie was when she found out she could be Sunflower's spokesperson." Mira continued.
"I know this is our fault, I just hope you can give us a chance to turn over a new leaf." Mira said almost in tears.
Luann laughed smoothly and comforted, "Don't worry, the penalty fee is waived. Just focus on getting better, and we'll consider you for the spokesperson role again next spring, okay?"Luann's words didn't ease Mira's anxiety at all. She shook her head heavily.
"Ms. Weaver, please don't comfort us with lies." Mira whimpered.
'Sunflower waiving the penalty fee and even considering working with them again next year, it's incredible. How could there be such a good thing? How could that be possible.' Mira surprised.
Luann shrugged lightly, "I'm not comforting you, I'm telling the truth. If you don't believe me, ask her."
She pointed to the employee next to her.
The employee immediately said, "Yeah, since our boss said so, this outcome is perfect for everyone."
"Even though the boss said so, we..." Mira was still sobbing when she suddenly froze, "Boss? Where's the boss?"
She frantically looked around, counting the people repeatedly.
One, two, three, four.
There were only four people.
Luann raised her hand, "Here, here."
Mira rubbed her eyes hard, "No way, this is absolutely impossible. Ms. Weaver, even if you're comforting us, you can't lie like this."
Elodie was also stunned.
The employee smiled and said, "It's true, this is our boss. There's even a photo of her on the top floor."
Mira held her head, "No, Ms. Weaver is a fashion designer, how could she suddenly become the boss?"
The employee said, "The boss is our founder, the owner who created the Sunflower brand."
Mira and Elodie exchanged a bewildered look.
So, Luann was not only a fashion designer at Sunflower but also the one behind the scenes?
"Elodie, pinch me." Mira cooed.
Elodie pinched Mira's arm hard.
Hearing her scream in pain, Elodie murmured, "It's true."
Mira pitifully hugged her arm and cried in the corner.
Elodie belatedly realized that when she first woke up, someone was telling Adolph that the boss had a good relationship with him.
Luann and Adolph were siblings.
In her eyes, they had a good relationship.
But, Luann was from the Weaver Family, so why was she connected to the Miller Family?
Elodie looked at Luann's smiling face with a complex expression, feeling both curious and touched.
