Chapter 69 Extending a Helping Hand

Faced with Dylan's barrage of questions, Alisha tugged at the corners of her mouth, managing to conjure up a smile.

"He's treating me well."

Dylan's face flashed a hint of disappointment, his gaze burning, as if he wanted to devour the person in front of him.

“Well, Alisha, the words I said to you back then still hold true.”

"If one day you two break up, you can come find me."

Alisha looked at his predatory stare, feeling uneasy from head to toe. She nodded hastily, standing up.

"Sorry, but I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable. I'd like to go back first."

“Alright, wait for me here for a moment. I’ll go to the restroom and settle the bill.”

"Okay."

After Dylan left, Alisha finally let out a sigh of relief, and that uncomfortable feeling dissipated along with it. She waited for more than ten minutes, but he still hadn't returned.

Alisha took out her phone, opened a number she hadn't contacted in years, and sent a text message.

[I'll wait for you at the entrance.]

Thud—
She lowered her head and walked, accidentally bumping into someone.

“Sorry,” Alisha quickly apologized.

The person she ran into was the foreigner who had talked with Dylan before. He furrowed his
brows and scanned Alisha from head to toe, speaking a long string of English words. Alisha felt dizzy and couldn't understand anything for a while, so she just kept apologizing. But the foreigner suddenly grabbed her wrist, firmly refusing to let go.

"Let go!" Alisha angrily shouted, "You're so rude!"

The two of them struggled with each other in the crowded crowd, but the deafening music made others unaware of the situation. Alisha was no match for him and was dragged towards a private room in the bar.

"Let me go!"

Alisha grew more and more panicked, her voice trembling.

Luann silently watched all of this, tilting her head to empty the last sip of her drink in her glass.
From her view, she could see Dylan on the side, ready to intervene at a suitable moment. This was clearly a staged act of a fake hero coming to the rescue. In a foreign land, which woman wouldn't be scared when faced with such a situation? Just as Alisha was on the verge of mental breakdown, Dylan swooped in from above, knocking the bad guy down and embracing the beautiful lady. With a gentle hug and thoughtful care, who knows what might happen between them.

"Cliché."

With slender fingers peeling the candy wrapper, Luann's mouth welcomed the pink fruit inside.

She picked up the bottle of alcohol, with the candy still in her mouth, and strode forward.

Coming up behind the two, she tiptoed and forcefully slapped the blond man’s back.

He turned his head impatiently, "What are you doing! Mind your own..."

Crack—

Snap!

Without a word, Luann greeted him with the bottle, landing a direct hit on his forehead. The sound of the bottle shattering mixed with screams from the surrounding people. Before the blond man could react, he had already collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.

Luann casually tossed aside the bottle and grabbed Alisha's arm, leading her towards the exit.

When the background staff who came to resolve the situation heard the commotion, upon seeing Luann, not a single word came out of their mouths, and they silently sent a message to someone.

[Second boss, Miss Third has caused trouble again!]

Dylan had an incredulous expression on his face, never expecting an unexpected visitor like Luann.

Just as he was about to come out, Luann, in a hurry, caught his gaze among the crowd. The coldness in her dark eyes instantly froze his legs in place, unable to move. By the time he snapped out of it, Luann had already disappeared.

With a flick of her wrist, Alisha, who was being dragged along, weakly bumped into the wall.

Luann stood in front of her, her tone indifferent.

"Be more careful next time. Meeting someone you haven't seen in so many years and then going to a bar with that person, what good intentions could that person possibly have?"

Alisha lowered her brows, her messy hair hiding her expression. But her body trembled slightly.

"And that man, what about him..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Alisha's hoarse voice murmured softly.

"Do you think I would thank you?"

Luann's delicate eyebrows raised.

"You just wanted to see me embarrassed, didn't you... Luann, you got your wish, I made a fool of myself in front of you! You can mock me to your heart's content!"

Alisha angrily growled; her breath mixed with restrained tears.

Luann crossed her arms, leaning against the wall next to her.

"If I wanted to see you embarrassed, why would I help you?"

Alisha suddenly raised her head, her eyes red.

She leaned forward towards Luann, her palm against the side of Luann's head, glaring with anger.

"Because you wanted to make me owe you!"

"Because you wanted me to be grateful to you!"

"You're dreaming!"

Luann responded with an "Oh."

The two were so close that Alisha could smell the sweet candy scent on Luann's lips.

"Between us, it seems like there's no deep hatred, right?"

Luann's hand rested on her chin, carefully pondering. As someone who usually kept to herself, she rarely stirred up trouble. But Alisha, on the other hand, treated her like an enemy.

"There is."

Alisha gritted her teeth and spat out the word.

At a time when Carlton's attention gradually shifted away from her.

She had formed a grudge against Luann.

"Don't think that just because you helped me this time, I will be grateful to you."

"Our accounts are not settled yet!"

Luann remained calm, "Hmm, take your time to calculate."

Alisha sneered fiercely, then turned and walked to the right.

Luann kindly reminded her, "You're going the wrong way, the hotel is on the left."

Alisha paused her steps, gave her a stern glare, and continued walking to the left.

Luann looked at her departing figure and couldn't help but say, "If you had that kind of momentum just now, that man might have been scared away by you."

She walked to the side of the road, hailed a taxi, and sent a WeChat message to her second brother.

[I waited for you for so long, but since you're not coming, I'm leaving. Let's meet another day."

"You little rascal, I just arrived at the entrance of the bar, and I heard you got into a fight?"

“Yeah.”

"Don't worry, it's on me. I'll take care of it for you!"

Luann smiled faintly, “Thanks, bro.”

"Oh, by the way, remember to transfer the medical expenses to me. It's quite expensive to
see a doctor here, and I don’t have any money on me.”

Luann's smile froze slightly, "Have you ever seen a red exclamation mark before?"
...
Luann and Alisha returned to the hotel one after another.

They slept until it was dark before they got up.

During dinner, Alisha deliberately didn't sit at the same table as Luann and didn't say much throughout.

"This hotel is really good, staying for a night must be expensive, right?"

"It costs over 3,000 UDS per night! Manager Dylan is really generous."

"After all, we have connections. You all know how well-connected Alisha is."

Alisha ate a few bites reluctantly and stood up, feeling annoyed.

"I'm full. I'm going back to the room."

"Alisha, we rarely come here. Shall we go out together...?"
