Chapter 360 Whatever

Watson was stunned momentarily.. He looked at Diana, his voice softening, almost pleading. "Diana, why don't you just apologize?"

Diana asked calmly, "Why should I?"

"If you don't, she'll keep making a scene," Watson said, unsure.

"Let her. It's not my problem," Diana replied indifferently.

Watson frowned. He'd tried to calm Diana down, but she wasn't budging.

Anger surged in him. "Didn't you hear her? She said she wanted to kill herself! You can't just stand by. Have some compassion. Are you really that heartless?"

Diana raised an eyebrow and clapped. "So, the baby is mine?"

Watson was stunned. "What?"

"Since it's not, why should I care if she lives or dies?" Diana shrugged.

Carol burst into tears. "Honey, look at her! How can she be so cruel? Isn't my life worth anything? A simple apology could save two lives. Watson, you must have had a hard time with her."

Watson was getting a headache from their back-and-forth. He was about to speak when Diana grabbed Carol by the collar and dragged her toward the street.

"What's the point of talking? If you really want to die, I'll give you a billion dollars. That way, you can stop dreaming about marrying into a rich family," Diana said seriously.

"Watson! Save me!"

Watson stepped in to stop Diana. "What are you doing? Are you crazy? She's pregnant! How can she handle this?"

Diana looked puzzled. "Didn't she say she wanted to die? I'm just helping."

Watson was deeply disappointed. "Diana, I never thought you were like this. You are heartless to your own son. When he was caught in that fire, you didn't even care. The day he was rushed to the emergency room, you were out drinking. No wonder Myron distanced himself from you. If your own son's life means nothing to you, why would a stranger's? Sweetheart, let's go. Don't bother with her."

Diana's expression turned cold. She lowered her head, looking gloomy.

As Watson helped Carol into the car, he heard Diana's voice.

"I suddenly regret it now,” said Diana.

Watson turned back, annoyed. "What now?"

Diana lifted her head, a faint smile on her face.

Watson hadn't seen her smile like that in a long time. Since the fire incident with Myron, her smiles had been rare and forced.

"Nothing." Some things were better left unsaid.

Watson frowned. "Nonsense!"

He drove off immediately, not wanting to see Diana for another second.

"Why did you even go to her?" Watson snapped at Carol. "Diana's not someone to mess with. She's sharp!"

Carol snorted. "Because you never give me any status. I can't just sit around doing nothing! For a woman, the most important things are status and her husband's love, and you haven't given me either!"

"How have I not given you love?"

"You come over once a week, and you call that love?"

Watson was speechless. After a moment, he gave in.

"Sweetheart, can't you just listen to me? Once you have the baby, I promise I'll bring you into the Curtis Family immediately, okay?"

Carol looked at him. "Can't we just get married first? I need some security. Staying in the villa you bought for me feels like being in a prison!"

Watson sighed. "Be patient."

"No! If you don't give me an answer today, I won't be fooled by you again! I don't care about your plans. I only know that the baby in my belly is a Curtis! Even if your father doesn't like me, he won't let a Curtis Family child be born without a mother, right?"

"Fine! Let's get married! Happy now?"

Carol paused. "You should've agreed earlier."

At the Curtis Residence, moonlight cast a long shadow of Diana on the ground.

The cobblestone path was uneven. Even though she had walked this road countless times, Diana twisted her ankle today.

She sat on the ground, surrounded by the faint fragrance from the bushes.

After a while, a servant passed by. "Mrs. Curtis, why are you sitting here? The ground is so cold."

The servant helped Diana up, and Diana thanked her politely. "You're too kind."

After escorting Diana to the living room, the servant left.

Diana was about to go upstairs when Vito stopped her.

"What happened to you?"

"I'm fine, Dad."

Vito looked her over. "Lately, I've felt something's off between you and Watson. Is everything okay?"

"What could be wrong? I’ve been busy with thr company affairs, and I'm a bit tired." Diana gave a relaxed smile.

Vito nodded, reassured. "That's good. Diana, you're my favorite daughter-in-law. If Watson bullies you, you must tell me."

Diana smiled. "Don't worry. We’re really fine."

"Good." Seeing Diana limping up the stairs, Vito sighed deeply.

He knew how much Diana had sacrificed for Watson over the years. The last thing he wanted was for Watson to hurt her.

"Get Watson back here!"

Half an hour later, Watson rushed home, his face full of panic. 'Could it be that Diana told Vito everything? Does Vito know?' he thought.

"Dad."

"What's going on between you and Diana lately? You both seem off. Are you two so busy with work that your relationship is suffering?"

Hearing this, Watson breathed a sigh of relief. He smiled lightly. "Dad, how could that be? You're overthinking it. Diana and I are doing great, really great!"
