Chapter 48 Inviting Misfortune
Outside the Music Temple,
Wilber stood despondently in place, people around him had all gone.
Even the few remaining cleaning staff had left.
A faint palm print still lingered on his face, making him look like a heartbroken person from afar.
Wilber finally understood what it meant to invite misfortune upon oneself.
Luann didn't chase after him and even angered Juliet.
Now, he lost both people.
A tender and fair hand patted his back.
Wilber ignored it.
The person continued to pat a few more times.
Wilber turned around in anger, gritting his teeth, "Are you f**king annoy... uh... it's you?"
Holly stared at him with wide eyes, looking frightened, and her eyes were slightly red.
"Are you okay? You scared me just now..."
Wilber quickly adjusted himself and forced a smile.
"Sorry, I scared you. I'm fine..."
Holly breathed a sigh of relief, "That's good. I've been looking for you for so long, but you didn't answer when I called."
"Mr. Gilbert, you didn't forget that we were supposed to have dinner together, did you?"
"Could it be that you wanted a free meal?"
Her smile was sweet and beautiful, the best medicine to heal any wounds.
"Of course not," Wilber immediately denied it.
Holly let out a sigh, "That's good. By the way, where's your girlfriend? Let's invite her too."
Wilber's expression stiffened slightly, and he seemed unnatural.
"She's not feeling well, so she went home first."
Holly immediately became concerned, "Ah, no wonder I noticed earlier that she didn't look well. You should go back and take care of her. I can eat alone."
"Let's go. I promise I'll fulfill what I said."
Wilber led Holly into his car and headed to the nearest restaurant.
After Holly ordered the dishes, the two of them started chatting aimlessly.
"Seeing Mr. Gilbert and Miss Luann together, I can't help but envy them."
"I wonder when I'll meet my true love."
Wilber asked casually, "Don't you have someone you like?"
"Well, I do."
"What kind of person?"
"He, gentle and considerate, understanding, and also a gentleman."
Although she didn't name anyone, Wilber could still imagine himself in those words.
Holly tactfully changed the topic.
"Forget about me, let's talk about you."
"You two seem to have a great relationship. I guess good things are coming."
Wilber fell silent for a moment and suddenly opened up to her, as if pouring out his heart, "My parents don't really like her."
"Ah,
"Really? Miss Luann looks gentle and delicate, the kind that older generations would like, right?" Wilber shook his head and didn't say much. After finishing their meal, Wilber drove Holly back home.
On the way, they passed by a cake shop, and he bought some desserts, giving some to Holly. "Are these for Miss Luann?" Holly asked curiously. "Yes," Wilber replied. Holly looked at him with envy and sighed, "I envy Miss Luann for having such a good boyfriend like you." Wilber smiled faintly.
They followed the navigation and stopped in front of a private villa. Wilber's face was filled with astonishment. "Is this your house?"
Although he also bought a villa, they were priced relatively lower and located within a large villa community. But standalone villas like this, with good location, cost several tens of millions!
Unexpectedly, Holly turned out to be a wealthy woman. Holly nodded, "Yes, if Miss Luann was here, I would invite you both in." The underlying meaning was that it was not suitable for a man and a woman to stay together. "No problem, I'll come visit another day."
Watching Holly enter the villa, Wilber's expression was complicated as he turned the car's steering wheel.
On his way to find Juliet, Wilber's mind was filled with various thoughts. He had thought Holly was just an ordinary girl, but it turned out she was so rich! What's more, she had a pure and innocent appearance.
Anyone could tell that she hadn't dated much and would be easy to win over. Although her looks couldn't compare to Luann's rarity, they were still very good. At least much better than Juliet! Wilber looked at the cake box on the passenger seat, and suddenly hit the brakes.
The car behind him honked angrily. "Idiot!" "Can't you drive, idiot?" "Do you want to die?" Wilber rolled down the window, threw the cake box outside, and turned back home. Weaver Family.
Juliet's weeping filled the living room. Her tear-streaked face looked pitiful, with tears flowing down her chin. Brianna couldn't wipe all the tears away, feeling as if someone had grabbed her heart.
Mike Weaver sat silently on the sofa, his face showing a hint of aging. He spread his five fingers, mournfully covering his forehead, pressing his thumb and middle finger against his temples and forcefully squeezing twice.
"Enough, stop crying. What can crying solve?" Mike Weaver had a heavy heart. He had already been anxious and agitated after seeing the news online, and Juliet's crying was like a buzzing fly in his ears, causing him a headache.
When Juliet heard her father scolding her like that, she cried even louder. "Dad, what should I do...? Wilber even said those things in front of Luann...I...I..." Mike Weaver felt a knot in his heart.
Impatient, but with unusually clear thoughts.
"So what?"
"Luann is already married!"
"If she dares to do anything inappropriate with Wilber, do you think the Curtis family will let her off?"
"Could Master Curtis let her off?"
"Wilber is just temporarily out of his mind, after all, they broke up not long ago."
"Just wait and see, once Wilber calms down, he will come looking for you!"
Juliet squinted her small rabbit-like eyes.
"Really?"
"Really!"
Brianna nodded too, "Yes, my daughter, don't be sad. Wilber likes you too, otherwise, you wouldn't have gone this far in your relationship, right?"
Juliet felt a little better inside.
What about those online comments?"
Mike Weaver coldly said, "This incident has had a significant impact on you. It would be best for you to apologize publicly."
"Apologize? To Luann?" Juliet stood up like a startled mouse, "That's impossible!"
Mike Weaver slammed his hand on the table, "Don't you want to continue in this circle? The impact of this incident on you is huge, do you know that?"
"No matter what, I will not bow down to Luann!"
After saying that, Juliet rushed upstairs and into her bedroom.
She slammed the door shut, locked it, and prevented anyone from entering.
She picked up her phone and logged into her account.
The screen froze for a moment.
When it recovered, she saw a screen full of private messages cursing her.
A constant stream of them.
