Chapter 289 A Bit Cute
Ten minutes ago.
A live broadcast room inexplicably popped up, its titled was 'Upper West Side-Luann'.
As soon as Luann's name appeared, a lot of people naturally flocked in.
They wanted to see what unique skills Luann would bring this time.
[So, racing, piano, cooking, singing, or fishing?]
[You fake fans, Luann's live broadcasts never repeat content.]
[Let's guess, will Luann trend today?]
[I guess she will dominate the headlines.]
[Strongly agree!]
[I haven't seen Luann, where is she?]
[Wow! What place is this? So many people, what are they doing?]
[I think I saw Luann, maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me?]
[I saw her too!]
The number of people in the live-streaming room is skyrocketing, seemingly with malicious manipulation behind the scenes, the surge in popularity seems a bit abnormal.
[When did Luann get so many fans?]
[Am I seeing things? Did a billion people just join?]
[Oh my God! My screen froze, why is no one talking?]
[I never thought I'd need a better phone to follow a star.]
Discussions online were heating up, making others feel envious.
"Very good." In a quiet room, a triumphant voice rang out.
Ally said, "The higher Luann stands now, the harder she'll fall."
"I'm getting more and more excited about what's going to happen next."
Ally and Juliet exchanged a smile.
"Are the videos ready?" Ally asked.
Juliet nodded and said, "Don't worry."
"With so many people here today and a live-streaming, Luann is finished!"
Luann was sitting in a corner messaging Myron.
Luann: [So boring.]
Myron replies instantly.
Myron: [Hasn't it been long since you arrived?]
Luann: [Time passes slowly without you.]
Myron paused when he saw this message, a faint smile playing on his lips.
Myron: [Wait for me, I'll finish up in half an hour and then come find you.]
Luann's eyes brightened.
Luann: [Okay.]
"Luann," Peter said.
Luann instinctively turned off her phone screen, stood up, and looked at Peter.
His face was gentle, a stark contrast to his usual serious demeanor.
"Peter," Luann saw him and asked the question on her mind, "Your banquet was quite sudden."
Peter nodded and said, "Ally organized it, I had no intention of hosting a banquet."
Upon hearing it was Ally's idea, Luann instinctively put up a guard in her heart.
Luann looked around and asked, "Where is she?"
"She's probably greeting guests, there are a lot of people here today," Peter said calmly, but his gaze lingered on Luann with a hint of greed. He almost wanted to imprint her entire being in his mind.
Luann took a step back awkwardly.
Just then, a waiter approached and asked, "Are you Luann?"
"Someone is waiting for you by the fountain."
Luann was unsure how to handle this awkward situation, but the waiter resolved her dilemma.
She hurriedly said, "I'll go over there first."
"Go ahead," Peter said.
However, his gaze never left Luann.
At the fountain in the backyard, water splashed, and a figure seemed to be standing there.
As Luann walked over, she was suddenly pressed against the edge of the fountain, almost half of her body leaning back.
The sound of rushing water filled her ears. Someone gripped her neck.
"Luann!"
Seeing it was Wilber, Luann's face showed little surprise.
She asked, "Are you out of the hospital so soon?"
Wilber's pupils suddenly contracted, his previously decisive eyes showing a hint of turmoil and panic.
Did Luann know something?
"Your body isn't healed yet, stay at home and rest well. Why did you come all the way here? Are you not satisfied after being harmed by Grace, do you want to be used by the North family too?" Luann said.
Her words ignited Wilber's murderous intent.
He said, "Why didn't you tell me that day?"
"Why!"
"If it weren't for you, how could I have ended up like this?"
"Luann, you have a cruel heart, you are a truly venomous woman!"
As he spoke, he exerted force with his hand, as if wanting to strangle Luann alive.
Luann's face flushed, breathing in more than out, but there was no panic on her face.
She looked at Wilber, who was pale and seemed like a mad dog biting everyone.
She smiled quietly.
To Wilber, this expression was a huge provocation.
He added, "You ruined my future, so I'll ruin everything for you!"
"I will make you..."
Before the vicious words could be finished, the collar of his shirt was easily lifted from behind. He was unceremoniously thrown into the fountain pool.
A scream rang out.
Water splashed.
His suit was soaked.
Eddy calmly brushed it off, retrieved Luann's protected suit, asking, "Are you okay?"
Luann shook her head, looking at Wilber struggling in the water, his wounds stinging, almost fainting.
She said lightly, "You brought this upon yourself, can't blame anyone else."
Holly watched quietly from a distance, admiration in her eyes.
Although Eddy was a bit older, his protective actions were quite manly!
In her eyes, that move just now was even a bit cool!
Luann said, "Thank you."
Eddy's charming eyes curved, he replied, "You're welcome, it's what I should do. Otherwise, if Myron Curtis found out I didn't protect you well and someone got thrown into the pool, it would probably be me."
"Alright, don't linger here, the banquet has already started."
The crowded hall was filled with seated guests.
Luann and the others were the last to arrive, sitting at the back of the crowd. They were close to the camera.
[Luann!]
[Let me give you some information, this is a welcome banquet hosted by the North family. Peter has returned home, so this banquet was specially arranged.]
[I see!]
[Please, the camera operator, can you let Luann say hello to us?]
Standing next to the camera, the cameraman watching the bullet comments on his phone raised his eyebrows and patted Luann's shoulder, saying, "Hey, Luann, right? The camera caught you, do you want to say a few words?"
Luann was taken aback and asked, "Is this live?"
The cameraman nodded and said, "Yes."
Luann frowned. She had seen these cameras, but she thought they were there to record for the North family.
"It's probably to boost Peter's popularity, after all, the title of racing champion and Peter aren't something you see every day."
