Chapter 178 The Treachery of Reese Against Malcolm

Dahlia stood frozen, a blush of mortification spreading across her face. She had never anticipated that Reese would make such a bold declaration, particularly in such a public setting.

Raising a trembling finger to point at Reese, her voice quivered with timid outrage. "Reese, how could you utter such words? You're a lady, for heaven's sake. Besides, with all the Flynn relatives present, rumors could easily circulate. People might start to believe the Brooks family lacks decorum."

Reese merely responded with a nonchalant shrug, her eyebrows arched playfully. "Am I not stating the truth? You parade around as if your man is a divine gift to women. If you're so concerned that I'll steal him away, it's only fair I enlighten you about the reality of the situation."

Were it not for Dahlia's presence, Silva would have marched straight over to Reese, demanding to know how she could be so confident about her prowess in comparison to Malcolm's.

But that confrontation could wait for another day.

Asserting her claim, Dahlia looped her arm through Silva's. "Regardless, I hope Reese can control herself and cease her fixation on another woman's man."

Reese couldn't suppress a scoff at Dahlia's audacity. "Who's watching whom, exactly? How do you know it's not your man who's keeping an eye on me?"

While Dahlia had noticed a spark between Silva and Reese since their dinner together, she had chosen to ignore such trivial matters, her attention solely focused on Malcolm.

However, Reese's public revelation was a slap in the face for Dahlia, igniting her fury.

"Reese, how can you be so brazen? Silva loves me, he's completely devoted. He wouldn't spare you a second thought," Dahlia retorted.

Reese's lips curled into a mischievous smile, radiating allure. "You'd better hope you're right."

With that, she spun on her heel and disappeared into the crowd, leaving Dahlia simmering with rage, her face a tapestry of anger and frustration.

"That Reese is growing more audacious by the minute. She'll get her comeuppance soon enough."

Surrounded by the Flynn family, Dahlia was eager to see how Reese would navigate this predicament.

Exiting the room, Malcolm checked his vibrating phone, swiping the screen to see who was calling. A series of intimate photos caught his attention, and just as they did, Justin emerged from the adjacent study, his phone in hand, his shock palpable as he glanced at the device in Malcolm's grip.

"Malcolm, what the—"

Malcolm's brow furrowed, and a dark cloud seemed to settle over his face.

"Find out who sent these."

"But isn't that Reese in these pictures? And that guy... I saw him in the lobby today, Silva, Dahlia's boyfriend from the Morris family, right? How could they—"

Before Justin could finish, Malcolm silenced him with a bone-chilling glare, forcing him to hang his head in submission.

"We don't jump to conclusions until we have the facts. Besides, why would my wife be interested in Silva? Am I not impressive enough?"

Justin's eye twitched, unable to believe Malcolm was being so self-absorbed even in a situation like this.

"Are you suggesting there's a problem? The Flynn family isn't inferior to the Morris fortune, I'm no less handsome or charming than Silva. Why would Reese choose him over me?"

Scratching his head awkwardly, Justin had to admit, there was some logic to Malcolm's argument.

Malcolm pocketed his phone. "Let's find Reese and discuss this."

Just as Malcolm descended the stairs and before he could even reach the lobby, phones throughout the room began to vibrate, each emitting its unique ringtone.

Justin froze, his voice strained. "This is bad."

A sense of foreboding washed over him.

Malcolm's gaze turned icy cold, his eyes glinting sharply.

"Silence!"

Everyone in the lobby pulled out their phones, and upon seeing the photos, the room erupted in murmurs and gasps.

"Isn't that Malcolm's wife, Reese? What's she doing with the young Morris?"

"The audacity of someone to flaunt this in the Flynn's own home."

"I thought Silva was with Dahlia, right? This is a mess."

Having seen the photos on her phone, Dahlia stormed towards Reese. Reese hadn't even reached for her own phone before seeing Dahlia's enraged approach.

"How could you do this to me? Silva is my boyfriend! You just said you wouldn't go after him, and now here you two are, entwined in each other's arms."

Reese was puzzled about what Dahlia was so furious about, but from what she was implying, it seemed like she had caught someone in the act. Suddenly, Alyssa came rushing towards Reese from a distance.

"Reese, check your phone, look at it..."

Only then did Reese pull out her phone and glance at it. There was a photo of Silva, and her? But upon closer inspection, the person wasn’t her at all.

Dahlia aggressively snatched the phone out of Reese's hand. "What more can you say, Mrs. Flynn of the esteemed Flynn family, engaging in such immoral behavior within the Flynn household? We may not be full siblings, but we're still related by blood. How could you betray me, seducing my boyfriend?"

Everly, who was standing nearby, had also received the same photo and let out a cold snort, almost seeming to relish the misfortune.

"I knew she was no good right from the start. And to think she'd dare pull something like this under the Flynns' very nose."

She had always despised Reese, eagerly awaiting a scandal that would force their grandfather to demand a divorce.

The only reason Grandpa Flynn hadn’t already forced their separation was that until now, Reese hadn’t crossed the family's boundaries. But today, with so many relatives present, Reese wasn't only losing face for herself; she was tarnishing the Flynn family's reputation.

There was no way Grandpa Flynn would let this slide.

"Let's not jump to conclusions until we've thoroughly investigated the matter."

At that moment, Malcolm's deep, resonant voice echoed from upstairs, drawing everyone's gaze to him.

Some relatives, of course, were eager for a chance to gloat, curious to see how the normally decisive Malcolm would respond to his wife being entangled with another man right under his nose.

Would he have Reese expelled from the Flynn household, or would he retaliate against the Morris family, or possibly punish both?

When Grandpa Flynn saw the photo, he was so enraged he nearly lost his balance, almost collapsing, if not for Vincent quickly supporting him.

"Granddad, are you alright?"

Grandpa Flynn leaned heavily on Vincent's arm, struggling to catch his breath.

"Just... help me over there first."

"Be careful, Granddad."

"I'm fine."

Grandpa Flynn approached Reese, his expression stern and a hint of anger in his eyes. "Reese, I need to know what's going on. Is it really something to do with the Morris family's Silva?"

Everly chimed in from the side, "Is there any doubt? Grandpa, didn't you see the picture? That's got to be her. Same clothes and everything. Reese, the evidence is right here; you can't just talk your way out of this one."

"The clothes might be the same, but that doesn't mean the person is me."

She had scrutinized it herself; not a single front-facing photo, all side profiles. And the resemblance was uncanny – the only person who could match that angle so well was Dahlia. Though they weren't full siblings, they shared blood. Their faces might not be identical head-on, but from the side? Sometimes she saw hints of herself in Dahlia's profile.

Lucinda had just been humiliated by Reese and now it seemed like karma had caught up to Reese. She stood by Everly, eager to kick Reese when she was down. "Reese, if you say it's not you, can you prove it?"
