Chapter 473 Reese, You're Famous
Calvin hurriedly raised his hand to clarify himself. "Reese, I genuinely came in to bring you coffee. I had just walked in when Justin pulled me aside. But you're amazing, I've always said that if you set your mind to something, there's nothing you can't achieve."
Justin nodded in agreement. "Yeah, yeah, if Mrs. Flynn weren't exceptional, how could she have married our Mr. Flynn?"
This must be what they call a match made in heaven.
Calvin quickly chimed in, "Exactly, do you even know who Reese is? Can you find a woman better than Reese? No, you can't, and you won't."
Reese saw the two chatting away. "Can you two stop overacting? Let's focus on the important stuff first."
At that moment, both Calvin and Justin's phones rang simultaneously. They exchanged glances and took out their phones; a piece of explosive news popped up instantly.
There were endless reports about a major system being hacked; the key point was that the tech personnel there had no clue about it. This was critical.
Calvin and Justin looked at Reese with shocked expressions, while Reese was completely clueless about what was going on with them.
Their expressions were so dumbfounded that it almost appeared comical.
She couldn't help but laugh. "What did you two see that scared you silly?"
Calvin was the first to speak, "Reese, you're famous."
Reese asked, "How am I famous? Shouldn't it be the Flynn Group that's famous now?"
Calvin shook his head. "No, it's you. You got famous. When you hacked into their system, they must have noticed it afterward. But they couldn't find you, so now there's a nationwide manhunt for you, with a one-million-dollar bounty."
Justin hadn't expected that it would be discovered so quickly. It seemed the tech personnel over there weren't pushovers either.
Reese, however, wasn't focused on her newfound fame.
She frowned. "You mean to tell me they put a bounty on me, and it's only a million dollars? That's so little."
Justin's eye twitched. Was this how exceptional people thought? Normal folks would be worried about the consequences of getting caught. This wasn't trivial; it wasn't just a corporate issue. Evading detection was crucial to avoid serious repercussions.
This was a different kind of offense, one that could cause serious trouble. Yet Reese seemed completely unbothered, confident that they wouldn't be able to trace her.
Calvin also admired her and tried to bring Reese back to the matter at hand. "Reese, is this really the time to be thinking about that? Shouldn't we be thinking about how to protect ourselves?"
Reese shrugged indifferently. "What's there to think about? They can't trace me. If they could, they would have done it already. Why wait until I'm done to issue a manhunt? Besides, even if they want to catch someone, they need evidence. I've wiped all traces clean; where are they going to find anything?"
Calvin and Justin exchanged glances again and gave Reese a thumbs-up.
After this matter was settled, Reese, Calvin, and Justin started investigating the Flynn Group; they were all extremely busy. Meanwhile, Everly, sensing that Reese was suspicious of her, immediately went to find Vincent.
Everly asked Vincent in a panic, "What do we do now? She seems to know it's me and that we planned this together. Even though you're the mastermind, I'm guilty of not reporting it. If Malcolm finds out, he'll hate me for sure."
She didn't want Malcolm to hate her. Her goal was always to expose Reese's true nature and prove that she was the one who loved him the most, so they could be together forever.
If things didn't go as planned, the consequences would be unbearable for her; she might never be able to return to the Flynn family.
Vincent, however, was highly irritated and didn't have time to address Everly's concerns. "You exposed yourself in front of her. I heard that Reese brought that guy named Calvin back to the Flynn family this afternoon, and it was at Grandpa's behest. I suspect you must have provoked Reese yourself. Who can you blame? If you hadn't bothered her, she wouldn't have come after you."
Everly knew she had been too impulsive today. "But you know, the reason I was kicked out of the Flynn family was all because of Reese. Of course, I was furious when I saw her. If it were you, you'd probably want to strangle her too."
Vincent sneered. "Do you think I don't hate her as much as you do? I was just one step away from success, and she blocked me halfway, with evidence in hand. Do you know that finding so much information in just one or two hours proves that this woman is far more terrifying than we imagined? We still don't know how many more skills she has up her sleeve."
Vincent couldn't accept being outdone by Reese. He prided himself on his business acumen and precision, but Reese appeared like an insurmountable obstacle thwarting his plans.
Everly felt devastated after hearing this. "So you're saying we have no other options? Are we just going to let Reese deal with us? You have to understand, if things become final, not only will you lose your position as CEO of the Flynn Group, but you might also get kicked out of the Flynn family like me."
Vincent glared at Everly, his eyes burning with irritation. "Do you think I don't know the consequences? The key is what we do now. After Reese back, things have become tricky. This woman has some serious skills. Even the most capable people can't gather so much information in just two hours. Where did she find her sources? That's crucial."
Everly asked, "So you're saying we need to find out the details and dig into Reese's background to come up with a plan?"
Vincent said, "Not necessarily, but investigation is crucial. If we don't act, and she pulls another stunt like this, who will be able to stop her?"
Everly asked, "So how do we investigate, and what are you planning to do next?"
Vincent said, "Next, I'm going to find some people and see if they can help me secure my position in the Flynn family. Reese has dirt on me; once Malcolm is out, the first thing he'll do is kick me out of the Flynn Group. As for you, you don't need to worry too much. As long as you don't admit anything in front of Reese, it shouldn't be a big problem."
Compared to Everly, he was in bigger trouble.
Hearing this, Everly finally felt a bit of relief, and her tense expression easing. "That's good. In that case, I don't need to worry too much."
