Chapter 429 I Completely Agree

"What do you mean? I just want to see my sister. Is that so wrong?" Nathaniel continued to persuade patiently, although he had his own idea. He preferred to start with a polite and peaceful approach. If Reese agreed right away, it would save him from resorting to force later.

Reese knew exactly why Nathaniel had come to see her.

"I know you want to persuade me to quit this industry. But it's too late to talk about that now," Reese said.

She had no intention of quitting. The Hawthorne family had brought this upon themselves with their excessive suspicion. She never intended to compete with them, but their paranoia had led to so many problems.

What hurt her the most was that Alexander had drugged her, using such despicable means.

Nathaniel quickly denied it. "I don't want you to quit. In business, competition is normal. Even if it wasn't you, there would be someone else. It's better if it's family. In fact, people usually keep benefits for those close to them," Nathaniel explained.

Reese suddenly realized that Nathaniel might not be as gentle and refined as he seemed. He might not be much different from Alexander. Except for Sebastian, who was somewhat naive, the rest of the Hawthorne family appeared friendly but were sinister inside.

She hadn't even started doing anything, and the Hawthorne family had already become wary of her.

However, Nathaniel seemed a bit more reasonable than Clara and Alexander, so she agreed.

"You pick the place and send me the location. But I have something to do and will be delayed for two or three hours," Reese said.

"No problem. I'll wait as long as it takes." Nathaniel agreed readily.

Reese didn't respond and hung up the phone. Malcolm walked out and noticed Reese's displeased expression.

"Who called?" He asked.

"Nathaniel, the second son of the Hawthorne family," Reese answered.

Malcolm chuckled. "Looks like the Hawthorne family isn't letting you go."

"Who knows," Reese replied.

"Are you going to meet him?" Malcolm asked.

"Yes, why not? This seems better than the others." She just didn't know what his true intentions were.

"Want me to come with you?" Malcolm added.

"Yes." Reese felt that having Malcolm by her side would be reassuring if anything unexpected happened.

They drove to a secret base, a place Reese had never shown anyone before, indicating how much she trusted Malcolm.

Malcolm was surprised to find that his wife had set up such a place. It looked like a factory from the outside, but it was a spacious inside, fully-equipped studio.

He turned to Reese. "Honey, did you spend a lot of money renovating this place?" so wealthy. The Flynn family seems to lack insight."

He used to think Reese was just a naive country girl, but she had chosen not to reveal her true identity.

Reese smiled without saying anything. Everyone has secrets, not to deceive anyone but often for good reasons.

Calvin and Louis were enthusiastic when they saw Malcolm.

"Mr. Flynn, it's great to finally meet you." Calvin was the first to approach, reaching out to shake Malcolm's hand, but Reese slapped his hand away.

"Step aside," Reese shouted.

"Reese, don't be so stingy. You've had him all to yourself for so long. We just want to shake his hand. Don't be so selfish. That's not like you," Calvin said.

Louis joked from the side. "Reese is in love and won't let anyone touch her husband."

Kay came down from the second floor, holding a cup of water, and said, "Reese, you're back."

"Yeah, come down. I want to introduce someone," Reese said.

Almost all the people Reese trusted were there. She had placed her other subordinates elsewhere.

Once everyone was gathered, she introduced, "This is Malcolm Flynn, my husband."

"These are my brothers who have been through thick and thin with me. This is Louis, Kay, Ryan, and Calvin, the most mischievous one," Reese added.

Calvin scratched his head awkwardly. "Don't listen to Reese. I'm very reliable."

Ryan immediately exposed him. "Yeah, right. You've caused Reese so much trouble. How can you say you're reliable?"

"I'm not unreliable. Don't talk nonsense," Calvin argued.

The atmosphere was cheerful and harmonious.

Malcolm remained calm. He didn't show excessive enthusiasm but was less aloof than usual.

"Thank you all for taking care of my wife. If you need anything, feel free to ask me," Malcolm said.

Calvin was surprised and couldn't help but exclaim, "Really? Mr. Flynn, you're so generous. No wonder Reese values you so much and took so long to introduce you to us."

Malcolm remembered Calvin from an incident where the Flynn Group's backend system was hacked. He had sent Justin to investigate. It turned out Calvin was involved. Now it seemed it wasn't just a coincidence.

He said to Calvin, "You and Reese once hacked into our company's backend system, right? And you helped her cover it up?"

Calvin was surprised that Malcolm remembered such an old incident.

He nodded awkwardly. "Yes, Reese was hiding under my desk at the time."

Malcolm mused and said, "I see. If I had known, I would have had my assistant check more thoroughly. Reese might not have been able to hide from me for long."

"Mr. Flynn, Reese's identity is hard to uncover, right?" Calvin said with a hint of arrogance, as he had spent a lot of time and effort hiding Reese's identity.

Malcolm admitted. "Yes, very difficult. I had hired many people, but they only found superficial information."

He was candid about it.

Calvin raised his chin proudly. "Of course. I spent a whole month on it. It can't be easily found. Plus, I have anti-tracking measures. Whenever someone investigates Reese, I get notified and take steps to counter it."

Malcolm's dark eyes showed a hint of admiration. "As expected of someone under Reese's command."

Calvin looked very proud. Reese said to Malcolm, "Stop praising him. He's getting too full of himself."

Calvin protested. "I'm not arrogant. I'm very humble, okay?"

Seeing it was getting late and the small talk was over, Reese clapped her hands to get everyone's attention. "Let's get down to business. Did you find the people I asked you to?"

"Yes, Reese. You can assign the tasks now." Louis was always efficient and dependable, unlike Calvin, who loved to joke around. His appearance alone inspired confidence.

After the meeting, Calvin, Louis, and the others were impressed by Malcolm's professionalism. Even Ryan couldn't help but applaud him.

"As expected from a powerful business group. Your insights on commerce are unique. You and Reese are a perfect match." Ryan believed that no one else in the world could match Reese.

Malcolm smiled. "I completely agree."
