Chapter 369 Otherwise, It's on You
Sebastian never expected a woman's driving skills to be so exquisite.
He had initially surpassed Reese, but she managed to overtake him directly from behind, even in such a narrow space.
Reese's overtaking skills were exceptional, leaning her car against the wall as she brushed past him.
Seeing Reese already ahead, Sebastian was so frustrated that he hit the steering wheel.
The quick back-and-forth ended, and everyone first saw Reese's car, prompting Lucius to cheer, "Reese won, Reese won..."
The other brothers joined in the cheers.
Someone remarked, "Amazing, Reese is so talented. Did you see that overtake just now? It's like a slap in the face to that rich kid."
Another added, "In terms of driving skills, who here can compare to Reese?"
Reese opened the car door and got out without a drop of sweat, appearing calm as if she had just taken a leisurely stroll.
Malcolm walked up and handed her some water.
He offered, "Honey, have some water."
Reese's lips curled up into a smile. "Thanks, Honey."
Reese's voice was melodious, devoid of its usual coldness, becoming even more enchanting.
Lucius was surprised to hear Reese's gentle tone for the first time.
Lucius teased, "My goodness, I never knew Reese had such a gentle side."
At this moment, Sebastian got out of the car, his face looking as gloomy as ever, reflecting his inner turmoil due to the loss.
Lucius, feeling proud, approached him and said, "See, I told you earlier, we are no match for Reese. You insisted on biting off more than you could chew."
Sebastian was not a kind person, especially now that he had lost. Feeling uncomfortable, he pushed Lucius away.
Sebastian said, "Get out of my way. It's not like you won."
Lucius, full of vigor, was about to confront Sebastian when Reese stopped him.
Reese said, "Lucius..."
Lucius turned back, displeased. "Reese, this guy is too arrogant. I have to teach him a lesson."
Sebastian disdainfully glanced at Lucius. "Just you?" He taunted,
"Wanna give it a try?"
Provoked, Lucius rolled up his sleeves, ready to challenge Sebastian.
Sebastian sneered. "I don't even see you as a challenge with that physique. A few moves and you'll be on the ground."
Reese felt that the young master of the Hawthorne family, Sebastian, was too arrogant. It seemed like he needed to be taught a lesson.
Reese walked up to Sebastian and raised her chin. She asked, "Have you been pampered by your mother to be this arrogant? It seems like the lesson earlier wasn't enough. Do I need to clean up for your mom?"
Sebastian sensed a strong hostility from Reese.
Sebastian retorted, "What's the matter, did my mom offend you?"
Reese seemed unwilling to discuss further. She narrowed her eyes and got back to the point.
Reese reminded him, "You lost. According to our agreement, this territory belongs to Lucius and his group. Also, please never show up here again."
This was the first time Sebastian had lost to a woman, which was the most unbearable part for him. With one hand in his pocket, he still looked nonchalant and asked Reese.
Sebastian asked, "Where did you learn these skills?"
"Just kart racing," Reese replied casually.
Lucius couldn't help but laugh out loud at Reese's response.
Kart racing, Reese's answer was indeed clever.
Malcolm, noticing the time, reminded Sebastian, "You better not show up here again if you don't want trouble."
Reese now felt irritated whenever she saw anyone from the Hawthorne family. If Sebastian appeared again, he would be digging his own grave.
Seeing Malcolm, Sebastian knew the man's background in the business world, a formidable figure who held a firm position.
Sebastian remarked snidely, "Malcolm from the Flynn family, instead of discussing projects, you have the leisure to race here with your wife.
"I heard that the Flynn family's Grandpa Flynn is very traditional. If he finds out his granddaughter-in-law is out here racing, he might think he married the wrong person."
Malcolm's gaze turned sharp, making Sebastian feel a chill down his spine. The man's presence was overpowering, leaving Sebastian somewhat unsettled.
He had only seen such an aura in their family's leader and Grandpa Hawthorne. Despite his years of arrogance, he had never encountered anyone who could intimidate him. Now, there were two such individuals.
And then there was Reese, who exuded a similar aura. It was no wonder they were a couple; both had a commanding presence.
But Sebastian couldn't back down, no matter how intimidating they were.
Sebastian said, "Well, to be fair, your wife's driving skills are indeed impressive."
After saying this, he immediately put on a smile and approached Reese.
Sebastian asked, "Can you teach me?"
His assistant looked on helplessly.
Sebastian, can't you have some dignity? At least hold your ground for a while; don't deflate so quickly.
Reese couldn't possibly teach Sebastian. Whenever she saw someone from the Hawthorne family, she remembered how they abandoned their family and continued living their lives without remorse, unlike Reese, whose mother had passed away long ago.
Now, Reese found herself in a world where she had no family left.
Reese had always said she wasn't a kind person; she held grudges, especially against those who had wronged her. She wouldn't easily let them off the hook.
Glancing at Sebastian, Reese sneered, "Can you afford the tuition?"
Upon hearing this, Sebastian became eager.
Sebastian replied, "Money is not a problem. You should know that the Hawthorne family is never short of money."
Malcolm raised an eyebrow, feeling uneasy. Sebastian's aura clashed completely with his wife's. Sebastian's words had crossed a line.
Approaching Sebastian, Reese sneered in disdain, "Is having money impressive? Young master of the Hawthorne family, if you're so capable, why don't you lay out all the Hawthorne family's assets? I'd like to see how wealthy you really are."
Even if Reese alone couldn't match the Hawthorne family, together with her husband, they would likely outshine them. The information was indeed correct; this young master of the Hawthorne family was nothing but a spendthrift and idle.
Sebastian was taken aback by Reese's sudden retort, looking puzzled and confused as he faced the visibly angry Reese.
Sebastian remarked, "You're a strange woman. Weren't you asking if I could afford the tuition? Of course, I can. Just name your price."
"Even if you offer me more money, I still wouldn't want to teach you," she said, turning to Malcolm. "Honey, it's time to go back."
As Malcolm passed by Sebastian, he patted his shoulder.
Malcolm advised, "I advise you, it's best to stay away from her. Otherwise, you'll regret it."
