Chapter 594 Think About Whose Wife It Is

Malcolm's face was all serious, and he shot Everly a look that could cut glass. "This ain't got nothin' to do with you. Get outta here and leave my wife alone."

Everly didn't see that coming. She looked like a sad puppy, tears and all. "Malcolm, don't be like that. We used to live together. You can't just treat me like this."

Malcolm turned his head a bit, eyes like daggers. "Oh, now you remember we used to live together? Has the Flynn family ever done you wrong? Did we ever treat you bad? Grandpa never had any beef with you, but you teamed up with Vincent to hurt him. What were you thinking?"

"I... I was stupid, but I get it now. It was all my fault. Please, forgive me." Everly was about ready to drop to her knees.

"I've said my piece. From now on, you're nothing to the Flynn family. Not taking away your last name is the last bit of respect we're giving you." Malcolm was firm. Once she crossed him, there were no second chances.

Alyssa, seeing Everly still hanging around, got impatient. "We've told you everything. You better leave now."

Seeing no one was gonna back her up, Everly turned to Aiden, her last hope.

She grabbed Aiden's sleeve, begging. "Grandpa, please, talk to Malcolm for me. I really know I messed up. I promise I'll behave. I got no one else in this world, just you guys."

Aiden shook his head, looking helpless. "You've been with the Flynn family long enough to know Malcolm's temper better than I do. Once he decides something, no one can change it."

Everly sank to the ground.

Malcolm didn't even blink and told Alyssa, "Take Grandpa back. Have Mr. Tartt keep an eye on him, make sure he's okay."

Alyssa nodded, "Don't worry, Malcolm. I'll stay with Grandpa."

Alyssa shot a dirty look at Everly, who was still on the ground. "What about her?"

Malcolm croaked, "Doesn't matter if she stays. I'll have Justin come and drag her out, even if it ain't pretty."

When it came to dealing with Everly, Malcolm had plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

Alyssa knew hardly anyone could stand up to Malcolm's ways.

Hearing this, Everly staggered to her feet, looking pale and abandoned.

She said to Malcolm, "Malcolm, don't be like this. I'll go."

Everly left, dragging her feet, knowing she had no choice.

Once Everly was gone, Alyssa took Aiden out of the hospital, too.

The room got a lot quieter, just Malcolm and Reese left.

Malcolm walked over, wrapped his arm around her shoulder, his tone softening. "Babe, how you feeling these days? Any discomfort?"

"No, I'm much better. I think I can leave. Staying here is driving me nuts, and I've gotten interested in the film industry."

She'd watched a TV show a few days ago and thought it was awesome. She'd also checked out some trends and saw the film industry was booming. She wanted to jump in and invest.

Hearing this, Malcolm didn't ask much and just said, "Then go for it. I'll have Justin look into it, and you can start working on it. But for now, you need to stay here for another three to five days to make sure you're all good."

Malcolm had been holding back just to help his love get better fast.

The doc had said if they'd been any later, she might not have made it.

Back then, no one noticed a tiny wound on her lower back. Small, but it could've been deadly.

Even now, thinking about it made her a bit anxious.

Reese thought about the whole Everly mess and asked Malcolm, "So, what’s your take on Everly’s drama?"

Malcolm smirked. "She must come to check on you."

Reese nodded, agreeing with him. "Well, tough luck for her. She must be bummed out."

Thinking about Everly’s earlier act, Malcolm sighed. "Hopefully, this time she gets it through her thick skull learnt her lesson."

Reese could tell Malcolm was still a bit concerned about Everly, even if he didn’t show it.

After all, they’d lived together for so long, it was hard not to have any feelings.

If Everly hadn’t messed up, she’d still be Ms. Flynn of the Flynn family.

"By the way, I noticed Aiden didn’t look too well. You should get me outta here soon so I can whip up something to help him."

Hearing this, Malcolm’s brows furrowed, and his face darkened. "Are you serious?"

Reese gave a bitter smile. "Of course I’m serious about his health. He looked rough, and his complexion was off. Might be all those IV meds he’s been getting."

Malcolm had always been worried about Aiden’s health. The old man was getting up there in age, and  even though Reese saved him after Everly drugged him, his body couldn’t take much more.

"If I’d known, I should’ve spent more time with him."

Reese tried to comfort him. "Don’t stress too much. I’ll help Grandpa get better."

Malcolm pulled Reese into his arms. "Thanks, babe."

Only Reese could give him that kind of comfort.

Reese’s heart almost melted at being called "babe," but she kept her cool, showing no emotion.

Like Malcolm, she was good at hiding her feelings.

But more importantly, she trusted Malcolm completely.

Reese raised her delicate eyebrows at him, her eyes sparkling. "Then lose no time. Shouldn’t you get Justin to handle my discharge? If he’s busy, I can have Calvin come over."

She really didn’t want to stay here any longer. She was dying of boredom here.

Malcolm knew that once Reese set her mind on something, no one could stop her.

Malcolm reached out and gently tapped her nose, his deep eyes filled with affection.

"How about this? I’ll get a doctor. If the doc says you can leave, then we’ll go. If not, we’ll stay a couple more days. I don’t have much going on, so I’ll stay with you, okay?" He spoke gently, almost like he was soothing a child. Even if Reese wanted to refuse, she couldn’t bring herself to say it.

Reese could only agree. "Alright, get the doc. If he says I can leave, you can’t back out."

She knew her own condition best. She’d long recovered, and if it weren’t for Malcolm insisting she stay a few more days, she’d have left already.

Malcolm had the doctor come to check on Reese.

The doc looked at her medical records and reviewed her stay. "I see you’ve been here for almost a month."

Reese nodded. "Yeah, it’s been almost a month. My injuries are mostly healed."

She was a doctor herself, so she knew she didn’t need these doctors to check on her.

But Malcolm wasn’t reassured and insisted on having a doctor confirm it.

The doctor said assuringly, "Yeah, it seems you’ve mostly recovered. You can be discharged."

Malcolm asked, "Are you sure? If anything goes wrong, the hospital’s on the hook."

The doctor smiled wryly. "Mr. Flynn, your wife is a big deal in the medical field. Does she really need us to check on her? She knows her own condition well."

Malcolm’s deep eyes were filled with pride.

Of course, she was his wife, after all.
