Chapter 449 It Might Be Amied At You
Thomas was a bit moved. His cloudy eyes filled with tears. He raised his hand to wipe the corner of his eye and said, "I'm very pleased, and even prouder that I didn't misjudge you."
Back then, he always thought Reese was a good doctor. If she was willing to delve into the field of medicine, her future would be limitless. Moreover, although she seemed cold on the surface, she was kinder and more soft-hearted than anyone else. Such an outstanding girl shouldn't be buried.
Reese hugged Thomas. "Grandpa Robert, I'm very grateful for your appreciation back then. If there's anything you need in the future, feel free to contact me."
"Alright, you two be careful on the road. The hospital will take care of things here." Thomas watched Reese and Malcolm leave. Within a few minutes, the police arrived and took away the couple and their family members.
The hospital quickly returned to calm, and Thomas sighed in relief. He then told the doctors and nurses, "Push the patient back to the ward, and have the attending physician check them again to determine the follow-up treatment."
"Yes," the doctor replied.
After Reese and Malcolm finished handling the matter and walked out of the hospital, Malcolm noticed that despite Reese having performed a four-hour surgery, her delicate face showed no signs of fatigue.
Reese must have been very composed to reach this level, something he couldn't imagine.
He originally thought he understood Reese quite well, but now he realized he didn't. She hadn't fully revealed her true self yet.
Reese was truly fascinating, like an endless treasure. Just when you thought you had discovered all her shining points, you realized you hadn't even scratched the surface.
Malcolm recalled the recent events and felt something was off. He asked Reese, "Reese, do you think this incident was just a simple medical accident? Were the family members just trying to get more compensation?"
Reese shook her head. "No, there are suspicious points."
Malcolm slightly lifted his eyes, a fleeting smile in his eyes, feeling a bit proud. As expected, Reese shared his thoughts.
He wanted to hear her opinion first. "Go ahead and tell me."
Reese touched her chin, pondered for a moment, and then slowly began to analyze. "If they wanted a large compensation, choosing that hospital was indeed correct because it's currently the best medical facility in Atlanta. If a person really died due to an accident, they could achieve their goal. The key point is, for his father's condition, using that medication would already be costly. The man and woman mentioned their financial difficulties and urgent need for money. But how did they qualify to use that medication in such a financial situation?"
In other words, to gain from this business, one must first learn to invest. Everyone's actions had a purpose.
Malcolm thought the same. He had been puzzled when he heard that earlier.
Malcolm's long fingers tapped the steering wheel and he frowned. "Let's have Justin investigate. It might be aimed at you."
Everyone knew that Reese had taken great risks to bring back that medication. If an accident occurred because of it, Reese would be the first to be blamed.
Imagine if the patient had died today and the cause wasn't identified, everyone would assume the death was due to the medication, and all the responsibility would fall on Reese.
Reese agreed. "Let's investigate. Someone might be behind this."
Reese had many enemies. It wouldn't be surprising if someone orchestrated this.
Malcolm called Justin, asking him to investigate and report back quickly.
Justin nodded respectfully. "Understood, Mr. Flynn."
After hanging up, Justin sighed on the other end. He felt that Mr. Flynn's focus had shifted from making money to Reese. To Justin, money seemed more attractive than a wife.
Mr. Flynn's thoughts were becoming increasingly difficult to understand.
However, Justin first needed to mourn for the person behind the plot against Mrs. Flynn, because that person would be in big trouble soon.
Didn't they know Mr. Flynn was a devoted husband?
As soon as they arrived at the Flynn family, Malcolm received a message from Justin.
Malcolm asked, "Did you find out?"
Justin replied, "Yes, it was someone from Alexander's side. Probably seeking revenge on Mrs. Flynn."
Malcolm frowned, his previously calm eyes now stormy.
Even through the phone, Justin could feel the coldness emanating from Mr. Flynn. Alexander had truly angered Mr. Flynn this time.
Justin had always said, you could provoke anyone, but never Mr. Flynn's wife. Malcolm was ruthless.
Moments later, Justin heard Malcolm's voice, filled with rage. "If Alexander doesn't want to stop and wants to fight to the end, then let's play."
This matter might seem simple and didn't cause Reese substantial harm. But if it wasn't handled well today, the consequences would be very unfavorable for Reese.
Justin shivered over the phone. It seemed inevitable that a war with the Hawthorne family was coming. Alexander wouldn't be easy to deal with either.
Alexander must have remembered how Mrs. Flynn made him bedridden for three days and nights last time.
Now, the tense relationship between the two sides had completely broken down. Alexander dared to plot against Mrs. Flynn, so it was no wonder Mr. Flynn was furious. They had crossed the line by targeting Reese, and Malcolm wouldn't let it go.
Besides, Malcolm cherished Reese very much. He wouldn't let anyone bully her.
Well, Malcolm might like to tease Reese in bed, but she didn't seem easily bullied.
Justin asked, "How does Mr. Flynn plan to avenge Mrs. Flynn?"
"What about those two projects?" Malcolm asked.
"They're still ongoing. There were some issues, so they haven't been completed. Alexander has recovered and noticed our involvement. We might need to speed up, or else the project might..." Justin said.
"Alright, now list all the company's tasks. Delegate what can be handled by others, and I'll take care of what they can't," Malcolm added.
Justin understood Malcolm's intention. He wanted to quickly handle company matters and then focus on taking over Alexander's projects one by one. There was no need for direct confrontation. Taking over the projects would be a direct insult to the opponent.
Malcolm was serious this time.
"I understand. But, Mr. Flynn, I'm not sure if we can make it in time. Alexander has probably started on the project, too. Knowing we're competing, he'll use all his resources," Justin reminded.
Malcolm scoffed. "Am I afraid of him using all his resources? At this point, it's about skills. If Alexander can take the project away from me, I'll admit he's skilled. If he can't, he shouldn't blame me."
Alexander should not plot against Reese.
