Chapter 500 Shoot to Kill
Malcolm loved to tease Alyssa, but she was his sister, and he adored her deeply.
Her personality was so infectious that everyone around her couldn't help but feel her joy.
He playfully flicked her nose with his slender fingers.
"When the time comes, listen to Reese and don't mess around."
"Don't worry, Malcolm. I'll listen to Reese. Honestly, I trust her more than you."
Thinking of Reese, Malcolm's expression softened.
"Wait at the door, I'll go check."
As he turned around, Reese emerged, already dressed. Alyssa gave her a once-over, teasingly.
"Reese, are you really going dressed like that? Can't you be a bit more formal?"
She was in a light blue shirt, blue cropped jeans, and sneakers. No presence at all.
Reese held her phone, eyes full of determination.
"Skill doesn't need pomp. What matters is real talent. Too many people look good but have no abilities."
She didn't care about appearances. Winning was what mattered.
Alyssa nodded. "Alright, you're right. We'll crush them with our skills."
Malcolm grabbed his jacket. "I'll drive you two."
"Great, you can see Reese's skills. It's time for you to witness a miracle again."
Just thinking about it made Alyssa feel pleased. She couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces.
Malcolm drove them to Alyssa's studio. As they walked in, they saw two groups looking like they were about to fight.
"I'm telling you, don't get cocky. Our boss said they're bringing someone really skilled today."
"Are we being arrogant? We're relying on real skills. If you don't have any, then get out and stop embarrassing yourselves. I don't know why you opened a studio with such low standards. It's a waste of money."
"What does that have to do with you? Our boss has money. We're all in the same industry, so why are you so malicious?"
"Don't you get it? There can only be one top dog. Just wait, our team's boss will be here soon, and you'll be beaten so badly you won't even remember your own name."
Seeing these arrogant people, Alyssa felt the urge to punch them.
Reese held her back and stepped forward, her voice cold, making the temperature in the studio drop.
"Didn't you say your studio's boss is very skilled? Call him over now."
The other guy, a streamer and gamer with a buzz cut, didn't look very smart, especially with his bad temper.
He didn't know who Reese was and immediately started shouting, "Who the hell are you?"
Reese looked at him with disdain. Too many people like him were all talk.
"Who I am is none of your business. Didn't you want to compete? Call your boss out now so we can get this over with."
She still had to deal with the coffee factory later. Although she could delegate it, she felt it was Malcolm's gesture of goodwill. Even though the coffee didn't sell well, it didn't affect their relationship, and she had to handle it properly.
The buzz cut guy had never encountered such arrogance. "Alright, I want to see how good this person Alyssa brought is. Women playing esports? Can they even react in time? If someone comes at you, you'll probably be too scared to even know how to use your skills."
Malcolm's eyes turned icy, and his aura became palpable. The buzz cut guy felt a chill down his spine and stumbled back a couple of steps in fear.
"Are you looking for a fight?"
Malcolm walked towards him, hands in his pockets, his steps steady and imposing. The buzz cut guy felt an inexplicable pressure, almost suffocating.
He was already shorter than Malcolm, and his presence was no match.
Malcolm stopped in front of him, his gaze cold.
"Alright, if you can't control that mouth of yours, I don't mind helping you out. And by the way, you'd better speak politely to ladies."
The buzz cut guy didn't really believe Malcolm, but the intensity of Malcolm's presence left him unsettled.
"I didn't say anything..."
At that moment, the opposing boss arrived, the one the buzz cut guy had deemed impressive.
"Ms. Flynn, you brought someone today? Afraid you'll lose and need someone to take you home?"
With Reese and Malcolm backing her up, Alyssa was full of confidence. "Alfonso Romero, don't get too cocky. We don't know who'll be crying later."
Alfonso raised his chin. "Didn't you say you were bringing someone impressive? Where is he?"
Seeing how rudely he spoke to her, Alyssa didn't bother being polite either.
"Are you blind?"
At first, Alfonso thought she meant Malcolm. "You want him to play against me? A businessman playing games now?"
Alyssa scoffed disdainfully, "You think you're worthy of playing against Malcolm?"
Only then did Alfonso's gaze fall on Reese, showing a hint of surprise. He had never seen someone so beautiful, especially with such an outstanding aura.
Malcolm, ever perceptive, noticed Alfonso's gaze lingering on Reese. His eyes darkened, and he stepped forward, pulling Reese behind him, completely blocking Alfonso's view.
Seeing the tall figure in front of him, Alfonso awkwardly looked away.
"Alright... let's start. Let's make the rules clear. If you lose, you close your studio and leave."
Alyssa raised her chin arrogantly. "No problem. If you lose, you close up and leave too."
This place had just been established by her, and now someone wanted to push her out? Ridiculous.
After both sides agreed, Reese logged into Alyssa's account.
Malcolm instructed Justin nearby, "Make Reese a cup of coffee. She didn't sleep well."
Justin nodded. "I'll go right now."
Alyssa, with her sharp ears, also called out to Justin.
"I want a cup too."
"Got it."
Seeing their nonchalant attitude, Alfonso sneered.
"With that attitude, you might as well head to the café next door."
Reese shot Alfonso an annoyed glance. "Can you just shut up?"
Listening to him was exhausting. He wasn't even a fraction as handsome as Malcolm, yet he talked so big.
Alfonso had never been yelled at by a woman before, but Reese's aura clearly overpowered him.
Usually, he feared nothing, but now he couldn't utter a word, as if his throat was blocked.
Reese logged in and chose her character, once again picking an assassin. Alyssa couldn't help but laugh, knowing exactly why Reese chose that role.
She remembered last time when Reese played an assassin, almost driving the opposing player crazy.
They died as soon as they stepped out, over and over, until they were mentally broken.
Alfonso made a strategic move, opting for a warrior to face Reese head-on.
This disappointed Alyssa, who muttered under her breath.
"Why not pick another role?"
Unfortunately, Alfonso heard her and glanced at her.
"Don't think I don't know what you're thinking."
Alyssa scratched her head awkwardly but quickly regained her confidence because of Reese's skills.
"You think picking a warrior will save you? She'll still take you down. Besides, this was a team match, not a solo one. Whether Reese killed Alfonso or not didn't matter; as long as Alfonso lost, that was all that counted."
