Chapter 516 No Room for Negotiation

Malcolm checked the time and told Reese, "Let's get him out of here before Nolan shows up. It'll be a mess if he does."

They still had a chance to leave since Nolan's crew hadn't found them yet.

Reese signaled to Louis. "Take him away."

"Got it, Reese."

Nearby, Dahlia, almost trembling, asked, "Reese, what are you up to this time? Why do you always mess up my plans?"

Reese shot her a look. "Are you nuts? Everhart's just using you for money. You know what he was doing at the hospital today."

Dahlia yelled, "I'm pregnant with his kid! He was taking me for a check-up. Why do you care?"

"I don't care about you," Reese replied.

Malcolm caught on and told Justin, "Take her back to the Brooks family."

"Why? I'm not going back. Everhart promised to take me abroad. We planned everything. Why are you ruining it?" Dahlia felt her dreams shattering. She and Everhart had it all figured out, but Reese showed up with a bunch of people.

Reese glared at Everhart. "I can't believe how you've manipulated her. Do you feel no guilt?"

Everhart remained indifferent. "So what? She made her choices. I told her from the start that being with her didn't mean I liked her."

He was using Dahlia to get to Reese, knowing the Brooks family would turn to Reese if something happened to her. But he didn't expect Reese to bring so many people.

Dahlia's face went pale, torn between her feelings and reality.

Reese didn't want to waste more time. "Dahlia, your parents are worried sick. Life isn't just about love; there are other important things."

Malcolm saw Dahlia was lost in thought and told Justin, "Hurry up and get her out of here!"

Justin moved quickly, picking up Dahlia and heading out.

Dahlia struggled, screaming, "Let me go! I want to be with Everhart. I'll call the police!"

Justin leaned in and whispered, "If you want to be with Everhart, shut up. Otherwise, he won't make it, and it'll be on you."

Dahlia, scared, asked, "What do you mean? Did he offend someone? He mentioned debts."

Justin laughed, "Is that what he told you?"

"Yeah, he said he worked for Nolan and messed up, losing a lot of money. Now they're after him," Dahlia explained.

"So, you paid his debt? Are you out of your mind? You didn't even check the facts?" Justin was amazed.

Malcolm reached out to Justin, who answered the call. "Mr. Flynn, any instructions?"

"Explain everything to Dahlia," Malcolm said.

"Got it."

Justin hung up and told Dahlia, "Everhart didn't owe Nolan money; he was scamming you."

Dahlia couldn't believe it. "No way, Everhart wouldn't lie to me."

Everhart had always been there for her, especially in her darkest times. Her trust in him was unshakable.

Justin couldn't help but wonder if Everhart had drugged Dahlia. How else could she be so hooked on him? His stories were full of holes, yet she believed every word.

Reese had once fallen for Everhart's charm too, suggesting he had some kind of spell over people. First Reese, now Dahlia. Was he targeting the Brooks sisters on purpose?

Justin saw Dahlia was genuinely smitten with Everhart.

"Look, if you don't believe me, just watch where his money goes. He's planning to ditch you abroad. The baby was an accident. Don't expect a scumbag like him to step up," Justin said.

"He's not a scumbag. You all misunderstand him. He must have his reasons," Dahlia insisted, still seeing Everhart as her savior.

Justin wanted to curse but held back, considering her pregnancy. He opened the car door. "I'll take you home. Your parents are worried sick."

Dahlia looked at him in disbelief. "You want me to go back? No way, my parents will kill me."

"They won't kill you. They just want you safe. Listen to them. Everhart is bad news. If you stick with him, it won't end well." Justin pushed her into the car and drove off.

Reese and Malcolm were about to leave with Everhart when Nolan's men blocked their way outside the airport. Even Nolan himself was there, showing how much Everhart mattered to him.

Reese and Malcolm exchanged a look.

Nolan glared at Everhart. "Aren't you tired of running?"

Everhart sneered. "Tired? Of course. But if you catch me, I'm dead."

Nolan was cold. "You should've thought of this when you betrayed me. I won't let you keep pushing me around. You and Reese know my rules. Mess up, pay the price."

Everhart knew Reese wouldn't let him go with Nolan, so he felt safe for now.

He told Nolan, "But Reese found me first. You'll have to wait."

Nolan sneered. "Wait? I didn't come all this way to wait. No deals today."

Reese pulled Everhart behind her and faced Nolan. "Nolan, if I hadn't saved him last time, he'd be dead by now. But he deceived me. Do you think I can let him go?"

Whether Nolan knew the full story or not, Reese had a slight edge.

Ideally, they could resolve this without a fight. But if it came to that, she was ready. She had already cut ties with Nolan and had nothing to lose.

Nolan got her point. "Then hand him over to me. I'll avenge you, and we can call it even. Deal?"

He wanted to deal with Everhart quickly to avoid more trouble.

"Nolan, you know me. Everhart has deceived me more than once. I can't just let it go. Do me this favor," Reese said politely.

Both were avoiding a fight at the airport. A brawl would be bad for everyone, especially Nolan, who had shady dealings that could draw unwanted attention.
