Chapter 464 Be More Confident
Vincent took out the document and glanced at it briefly, feeling a heavy weight in his heart. The document was indeed correct. How did she manage to find this information?
But she didn't have any real power, so he didn't need to worry.
The shareholders finished reading and looked at Vincent with shocked expressions, then started whispering among themselves.
"What’s going on? Could it really be him causing all these problems for the company?"
"So Malcolm being investigated is related to him too?"
"If that's the case, we need to reconsider. This is clearly a setup."
Vincent managed to stay calm and immediately questioned the shareholders, "How can you believe a woman who suddenly barged in here? Malcolm is her husband; she would definitely help him. These pieces of evidence might not even be real."
Reese raised an eyebrow. "Are you saying that my evidence is fake?"
Vincent gave Reese a sidelong glance. "Otherwise, how do you explain finding all this in just one or two hours? Even relevant personnel might not have this capability."
Reese's eyes narrowed, her bright eyes filled with arrogance, saying, "They might not, but I do."
She spoke each word with righteous indignation, her cold and delicate face showing no trace of fear, as if Vincent had no power over her.
Vincent sneered, "You really overestimate your abilities."
Reese uttered, "My abilities are none of your concern; but you trying to take my husband's position is my concern. If you don't acknowledge this evidence, I have other ways. And to the shareholders, if you want to work with someone like him, I won't stop you. But look at the company's profits over the years and the money you've received. Can he really deliver?"
Saying that, Reese threw the documents onto the conference table, the folder hitting the table with a sharp sound, startling the shareholders.
No one expected a young woman in her twenties to have such a strong presence, making the atmosphere in the conference room heavy and tense.
All the shareholders were shaken.
Vincent felt uneasy. Reese's words had sown doubt among the shareholders. If this suspicion continued, it would lead to big problems.
"I think she has a point. If something really goes wrong, we won't benefit at all."
"If Malcolm manages to come back and finds out about this, he might fire all of us. Besides, Vincent is from the Flynn family. Even if he fucks up, it doesn't matter; but we don't have that kind of privilege."
"Let's just drop it. This might really be an internal conflict within the Flynn family. We don't want to get involved."
"Alright, alright, let's not count this vote. We'll wait for Malcolm to come back."
One person stood up, and others followed.
"Yes, let's drop it. Let's go."
Seeing this, Vincent panicked. "Stop, why are you leaving? The vote has already started."
The shareholders shook their heads. "Let's drop it. Without Malcolm, even if the vote is valid, it will cause a stir."
"We don't even know the company's current situation. Let's not act rashly. What if there's really nothing wrong?"
Vincent couldn't believe that all his efforts were in vain. "You... you can't do this. Come back, come back."
However, no one listened to Vincent.
Soon, only a few people were left in the conference room. Reese leaned against the table, raising an eyebrow at Vincent. "So, Vincent, feeling heartbroken now, right? You've been planning for so long. Now that my husband is detained, you can't escape responsibility. We'll settle this score slowly."
Vincent gritted his teeth, looking at Reese with eyes full of hatred. "Reese, we don't have any deep-seated hatred. The Flynn Group has nothing to do with you. Why are you doing this?"
Reese found it amusing. "Vincent, have you forgotten that Malcolm is my husband? You got my husband detained. Shouldn't I seek justice for him?"
Vincent pressed his lips tightly, his face turning livid. "Stop spouting nonsense here, you think you can prove that I got Malcolm detained? He mismanaged the company, causing significant damage. He should be held responsible. What, is the position of the Flynn Group's CEO reserved only for him?"
His hand gripped the edge of the table, veins bulging on the back of his hand.
Reese glanced at Vincent, her look filled with a murderous aura. "You're right. My husband earned his position. Why should your schemes put you in that position? Don't you find it laughable?"
Someone worked hard to earn their position, and he thought a little trick could unseat them. If God let him succeed, it would be a grave injustice.
Vincent knew the situation was set. Arguing with Reese was pointless. If she could find so much information in one or two hours, she must have some real skills. Persisting would not benefit him.
He turned to his assistant and said, "What are you standing there for? Let's go!"
The assistant hurriedly gathered their things and followed Vincent.
Calvin watched Vincent leave with a smug look. "Reese, you really have skills. You should have seen Vincent's face when he left. It was extremely dark."
Reese sneered. "What can I say? He brought it on himself."
Calvin joked, "I've realized something. You and Malcolm are very protective of each other. If anyone dares to say anything bad about the other in front of you, I suspect you would eat them alive."
Reese shrugged, her eyes cold and proud. "Be confident. We would definitely eat them alive."
