Chapter 362 Blacklist

Reese heard Malcolm offer to accompany her, and there was a moment of surprise in her heart. She asked incredulously, "Are you really willing to go with me?"

Malcolm, seeing Reese still doubting him, couldn't help but chuckle.

He assured her, "Honey, we've been married for so long. Do you still doubt my loyalty to you? Even if it's to hell, I'm willing to go with you."

Reese felt a bit shy and moved. Suddenly, she felt like crying. Over the years, there were still people willing to sacrifice for her, like Calvin and the others, her own family.

However, apart from them, Reese hadn't encountered any other men by her side.

Reese suddenly realized that she had accidentally met someone in this lifetime who was willing to selflessly dedicate himself to her. She hadn't married the wrong person.

But the reality was there. She couldn't burden Malcolm. These things, she could handle them.

She reached out and hugged Malcolm.

Reese remarked, "I know, I know you love me, and I love you too. But, Honey, you understand the grudges between Nolan and your Harmony Alliance better than I do.

"Nolan can't be unaware of your identity after so many years. If he sees me with you, Nolan is a suspicious person. I'm afraid it might lead to other complications."

Malcolm had already thought about this. He placed his hands on Reese's shoulders, his brows and eyes gentle, devoid of their usual coldness.

The little tenderness he had, he gave it all to this woman before him.

Malcolm replied, "Don't worry, since I've decided to go with you, I'll handle everything. Besides, who said I'm going today as a member of the Harmony Alliance? Today, I'm going as your husband."

Upon second thought, Reese compromised a bit. She wanted Malcolm to accompany her after all.

Reese also admitted that her dependence on him was growing deeper. She worried that one day she wouldn't be able to live without him.

After a moment of hesitation, Reese couldn't resist Malcolm's temptation.

She agreed, "All right, but be careful. Nolan holds a deep grudge against the people of Harmony Alliance. If he sees you, he might target you."

She could handle falling into the mud herself, but she couldn't drag Malcolm down with her.

Malcolm reassured her, "Don't worry, I'm smart. Can't I handle an old man?"

His purpose was to prevent Nolan from plotting against Reese, knowing that although she usually kept her emotions in check, once a problem arose, her temper would explode.

At that point, Reese was worried about meeting Nolan the next day. Would he reveal the truth to her, or did he have other schemes waiting for her? This was her biggest concern because she knew Nolan wouldn't let her off easily.

But with Malcolm by her side now, Reese felt a bit more courageous and a lot less anxious. Having someone to accompany her made a significant difference.

Just then, Reese's phone rang. She checked and saw it was Everhart.

Knowing Everhart's character, she knew he wouldn't give up easily. She wanted to see what he had to say.

She answered the call, not avoiding Malcolm, her voice as cold as an ice cellar, devoid of any warmth.

Reese instructed, "Please refrain from calling me unless it's necessary. I'm a married woman now."

Reese's implication was clear, Everhart should watch his words and actions. She didn't want any further complications.

Especially since Everhart had caused her significant trauma, Reese felt there was no need for further contact. She wasn't a saint; she couldn't forgive him for past hurts.

As Everhart was about to hang up, Malcolm intervened, saying, "Wait, let's hear what he has to say."

Reese didn't hang up, maintaining her usual cold tone, and said, "Go ahead."

Everhart asked, "Have you taken care of what Nolan entrusted to you?"

Reese replied, "Yes, why?"

Everhart questioned, "Do you know the relationship between your husband and the Harmony Alliance?"

Everhart had just found out and had put in a lot of effort. But as soon as he spoke, Reese knew what he wanted to say. She exchanged a glance with Malcolm, both understanding the situation clearly.

Reese deliberately asked, "What relationship?"

Everhart said, "He's Giedon's nephew, Giedon being his uncle."

Reese asked, "How do you know that?"

Reese's purpose in asking Everhart was to find out how he knew this secret. Normally, very few people within the Harmony Alliance knew about it, let alone an outsider like Everhart.

Everhart replied, "I have my sources. You don't need to worry about that."

Everhart was still hiding something from Reese. She didn't expect him to tell her everything.

She said, "This has nothing to do with you. If you don't want trouble, stay out of it."

Everhart advised, "Reese, I'm telling you this so you don't get involved. With Malcolm's deep ties to the Harmony Alliance, if he ever wants to harm you, that would be the perfect opportunity.

"He's Giedon's nephew, with blood ties. Your relationship with him is just a romantic one; he won't treat you sincerely."

Reese found this amusing. She confidently questioned Everhart, "He won't. At least he won't harm me. Everhart, do you find it funny when you say these things? Think back to how you treated me in the past."

She hadn't intended to bring up these matters in front of Malcolm, but Everhart had pushed it this far, so she had to remind him.

Everhart urgently tried to explain, "Reese, I had my reasons back then. I was sincere towards you, you..."

Malcolm interjected, "Everhart, regardless of your past actions towards Reese, now you better understand the facts. She is my wife, and you have no connection with her.

"As for what you did in the past, I haven't had the chance to settle the score with you yet. What, are you planning to dig your own grave now?"

Before Everhart could finish his words, Reese hadn't even listened to the end before Malcolm took the phone from her.

His expression was stern, his voice carrying a warning as if one more word from Everhart would lead to dire consequences.

Everhart didn't know what to say. He had no grounds to confront Malcolm now, and he also feared the man's power.

In the end, Everhart left with one final statement. He warned, "If you mistreat Reese, I won't let you off."

With that, he hung up. Malcolm found it amusing. The irony of those words coming from Everhart was not lost on him.

Everhart seemed to have forgotten how he had treated Reese in the past.

Then, Reese saw Malcolm add Everhart to the blacklist.
