Chapter 593 Don't Disturb My Wife's Rest

Everly scrunched up her face, "I... I didn't mean it like that, I just wanted to see Reese."

Alyssa huffed, "Really? Just Reese, huh? Then why drag Grandpa along? You know his health's been on the edge lately."

Alyssa and Reese weren't buying it. They knew Everly had more up her sleeve than just a friendly visit.

Everly looked all hurt, her eyes big and watery, playing the victim card hard.

She wiped away a tear, "I swear, I didn't mean anything by it. I just thought Grandpa should know. Don't get me wrong."

Alyssa rolled her eyes, getting more ticked off by Everly's act. "We're not wrong about you. We know exactly what you're up to. Before Malcolm shows up, you better scram!"

Just looking at Everly was getting on her nerves.

Aiden stepped in, "Can you two knock it off?"

Alyssa and Everly finally zipped it.

Reese turned to Alyssa, "Alyssa, take Grandpa out for a bit. The air in here sucks."

Alyssa blinked, then nodded quickly. "Sure thing."

She helped Aiden outside. He seemed just as fed up with the room as she was.

Now it was just Everly and Reese.

Everly knew Reese was playing her, trying to send a message. But she wasn't about to back down.

Reese's injuries were mostly healed, and even hurt, she could still handle Everly no problem.

But Reese stayed quiet, making Everly sweat.

The tension was thick.

Everly, feeling the heat from Reese's stare, stammered, "W-what do you want to say?"

Reese's eyes were like daggers, making Everly squirm. "You know exactly what I want to say."

Everly dropped her gaze, avoiding Reese's eyes. "I don't know what you mean."

"Oh, you do. Otherwise, you wouldn't have dragged Grandpa here. You felt weird coming alone, and you knew we'd get suspicious."

Everly had nowhere to hide from Reese.

But she wasn't about to admit it. "No matter what you say, I just came to see you, nothing else."

"It better be true. Everly, let me remind you, Vincent's already behind bars. If you're cooking up any other schemes, drop them now. You won't get away with it."

Everly's shoulders shook from Reese's words.

"I... I really have no other intentions."

"You better not, or you'll end up just like Vincent!"

Reese didn't need to say much to scare Everly, making her feel like she was walking on a tightrope.

Meanwhile, Alyssa was outside with Aiden. Thinking about Everly, she couldn't help but speak up. "Grandpa, I think you should stop worrying about Everly. She's up to no good."

"I know, but she's been part of the family for so long, and I raised her myself. It's not that easy."

Seeing Everly come to this point, he felt a bit sad but couldn't let go.

Vincent had gone off the rails, which was a lost cause. But if Everly could turn things around, maybe there was hope.

Alyssa thought about all the crap Everly had pulled before, feeling her blood boil. "But Grandpa, haven't you thought she might be gunning for Reese again? Reese is a big deal for our family now. You've seen how deep Malcolm's feelings run for her. If someone messes with Reese, it's like tearing his heart out."

Besides, she never liked Everly, always thinking she had some shady motives. From the moment Reese got married with Malcolm, Everly had it out for her, always scheming to boot Reese out so she could snag Malcolm.

But she never got that if Malcolm really liked her, he wouldn't have let Aiden bring another woman into the Flynn family.

It was all just her twisted obsession.

Aiden sighed, "I know. I'm not saying I'll let her back into the Flynn family. I'm just keeping an eye on her. If she screws up, you all can decide what to do. I won't step in."

Hearing this, Alyssa finally felt a bit of relief. "Grandpa, it's good you see it that way. We're just worried you might still have a soft spot for Everly. If she messes up again, it could hurt everyone in the Flynn family."

She shuddered to think about the stunts Everly had pulled before. To become Mrs. Flynn, Everly would do anything, including risking others' lives.

They couldn't be sure if Everly truly knew her mistakes or had more tricks up her sleeve.

Aiden reached out to hold Alyssa's hand, feeling comforted seeing his granddaughter grow up day by day. "Alyssa, I see you're becoming more mature now."

"Of course, Grandpa. I'm growing up. You don't need to worry about the Flynn family anymore. We'll handle any issues." Alyssa held Aiden's hand tightly. They sat on a bench in the hospital for a while. In the afternoon, the weather turned cooler and the wind picked up. Considering Aiden's health, Alyssa decided to take him back to the hospital room.

She called Malcolm, asking him to come over and stay with Reese while she took Aiden back.

She didn't trust Everly, especially since Everly had once drugged Aiden.

Malcolm got the message and after wrapping up his business, headed over.

In the hospital room, Everly saw Malcolm, whom she hadn't seen in a long time. Her eyes couldn't hide her longing, staring at Malcolm, almost in a daze.

Alyssa noticed and cleared her throat. "Malcolm, stay here with Reese. I'll take Grandpa back. Some people have bad intentions and might set us into trouble."

Her words were clearly aimed at Everly, and everyone got the hint.

Malcolm had no objections. "Okay, you take Grandpa back. I'll stay with Reese."

Alyssa helped Aiden and then turned to Everly, who was still staring at Malcolm.

"What's there to look at? He's not your husband. Hurry up and leave."

Everly ignored Alyssa's jab and eagerly walked up to Malcolm. "Malcolm, how have you been lately? You seem tired."
