Hearing Reese asking him professional questions made Victor even angrier. He felt that an insignificant person questioning him on such professional matters was a complete challenge to his authority and disrespect.
Victor had been at this hospital for many years and had never encountered such a situation. Especially a young girl questioning his professional competence—was she doubting his abilities?
He was already troubled by not being able to figure out Aiden's issue, and now someone was causing more trouble. "Do I need to explain myself to someone insignificant like you?" he retorted.
Reese said, "I'm not insignificant. The point is, you can't wake him up quickly. If something happens, can your hospital take responsibility?" Her words made Victor even angrier.
Victor asked, "What do you mean? Can't you see the doctors are discussing it right now?"
Reese found it amusing. "Do we have to wait until you're done discussing? Will the patient still be alive by then?"
Victor was extremely annoyed. "If you think you can do better, go ahead!"
Reese said, "Then let me take a look first. You're wasting the patient's time."
Reese's attitude was firm; since Jason had brought Aiden in, there had been no response, proving they hadn't figured out the cause. Given Aiden's age, he couldn't afford to waste time, and these people were delaying.
Jason was also anxious and turned to Victor and suggested, "Why don't we let Mrs. Flynn take a look first?"
Victor immediately thought Jason was crazy. "Mr. Tartt, are you playing with Mr. Aiden Flynn's life? Don't you understand the urgency of the situation?"
Jason said, "Mrs. Flynn is also a doctor, so..."
Jason was out of options. The doctors couldn't come up with a solution; he couldn't just wait for them to figure it out. If Aiden's condition worsened, how could he explain it to Malcolm?
Victor refused. "No way. Since he's my patient, I'm responsible for him. You say she's a doctor, but which hospital is she from?"
Jason said, "She..."
Reese interrupted, "I don't belong to any hospital. You just need to know that if you can't treat him, someone else has to."
Victor's face turned livid. He had never encountered such an unreasonable girl.
Reese didn't want to waste more time with such a stubborn person and directly told Jason, "Have them clear the area. Crowding will cause poor air circulation. The patient is unconscious and in shock, possibly due to stress, but it might not be a heart issue."
Victor found it even more amusing. "If it's not a heart issue, then what is it?"
Reese said coldly, "We'll know after I check."
Reese pushed through the crowd and began examining Aiden.
Victor asked, "What are you doing!"
Reese uttered, "He fainted due to anxiety-induced heart discomfort. Help elevate his legs to aid blood flow to the brain."
Victor queried, "Just based on your quick check, if something goes wrong, who will take responsibility?"
"I will," Reese said directly.
The doctors found it laughable. "Do you think this is a joke? This is a matter of life and death. If something happens, how will we explain it to the Flynn family?"
Reese turned to Calvin and instructed, "Get this doctor out of here; he's too noisy."
Calvin said, "Yes, Reese."
Calvin moved to drag Victor out, but he refused to leave, his face turning red.
Victor said, "This is madness! If something goes wrong, can you take responsibility? You're even kicking the doctor out. I think you're all crazy. Call security, get security here now."
Just as Calvin was dragging Victor out, there was movement from Aiden's side.
One doctor said, "He's awake, he's awake! Dr. Stewart, he's conscious."
Another said in disbelief, "What? Awake? How is that possible?"
Victor, who had been kicked out, was also shocked. He had carefully examined Aiden but couldn't come up with a solution.
Even if they were to perform emergency surgery, it didn't seem necessary.
He never expected that this seemingly inexperienced girl could actually treat Aiden. Victor was completely taken aback.
Jason saw Aiden wake up and hurried over. "Mr. Flynn, you're finally awake. Are you feeling any discomfort?"
