Chapter 444 Causing Trouble

When Reese arrived, Thomas was already waiting at the door. As soon as he saw Reese, he quickly approached her. "Reese."

"Grandpa Robert, how's the situation now?" Reese asked.

"It's not good. Follow me through the back door."

If they went through the front door, it would be blocked by those people.

"The family members are not easy to deal with. Although we've managed to calm them down temporarily, other relatives are still causing trouble. We're trying to find a solution, and letting you in through the back door is for your safety," Thomas explained.

Reese understood. "No problem. Let's solve the issue first."

Thomas noticed Malcolm behind Reese and seemed a bit troubled.

"Reese, this..." Thomas added.

"It's okay. The information has already leaked, and I suspect it's not a matter of someone getting in," Reese said.

If someone had gotten in, there would have been issues long ago. It would have been a large-scale problem, not just individual cases.

Thomas had no other choice. Reese was very important to them now. Only she could solve this problem.

"Alright, let's go in," Thomas said.

Once inside, everyone put on special clothing to ensure that other medical supplies wouldn't be contaminated.

The people inside showed great respect when they saw Reese. Even though some were older than her, they still treated her with high regard because of her outstanding expertise in this field.

"Reese, please check if there's been any intentional tampering. This is the report we found," Thomas said.

They had already reviewed it but needed to ensure its authenticity.

Reese took the inspection report and looked at it carefully. The medication itself seemed fine, and the report showed no issues. So, where was the problem?

Thomas said, "We were afraid of making a mistake, so we waited for you to confirm. But after our checks, we found no other issues."

This was what puzzled them the most.

No issues meant there was a significant problem somewhere unknown to them.

After Reese's examination, she concluded the problem wasn't with the medication or the report.

"The patient's own..." At that moment, someone urgently knocked on the door, interrupting Reese.

When the door was opened, a frantic nurse said, "Something's wrong. The patient suddenly had a heart attack and was in shock. He's not waking up, and the family members are causing trouble outside, refusing treatment. Mr. Robert, you need to come quickly."

Thomas felt immense pressure and shouted to those around him, "Let's go check it out immediately. We can't afford any mistakes."

Reese also wanted to follow, but Thomas told her, "I know you have other matters and will appear in public later. You shouldn't go."

He was worried it might affect Reese's future.

Reese was adamant. "No, I have to go."

She needed to find out the cause and saw this as an opportunity.

Thomas already felt bad for bringing Reese in, as it was their mistake. The medication was something Reese had risked her life to obtain, and now this was happening.

He knew Reese's temperament and didn't argue further, turning to Malcolm. "Can you persuade her?"

Malcolm shrugged helplessly and didn't agree with Thomas. "Grandpa Robert, let Reese go. You've known her longer than I have and should understand her better."

"Grandpa Robert, let Reese go. You've known her longer than I have and should understand her better."

Thomas indeed knew Reese well. Once she decided something was right, she wouldn't back down.

Reese insisted firmly. "Let me go."

Thomas could only agree reluctantly. "Alright."

Then, they all went out. The hallway was packed with people, and the cries of family members filled the air.

"Your hospital killed him. You must take responsibility!"

"My poor dad, only in his fifties, had a long life ahead, but your hospital did this to him."

"They say this hospital has the best medical conditions and doctors, but our family member used their medication and is now dying."

"Everyone, never come to this hospital again!"

"We're calling the police. We're reporting this harmful hospital. They claim to cure illnesses, but it's all a lie."

A doctor tried to explain, "This medication has indeed cured many patients. The hospital has records to prove it. It won't kill anyone as you claim."

"You're lying! If your medication is so miraculous, why is my dad lying here, unconscious? Your hospital must take responsibility," one shouted.

"Our hospital couldn't have made such a mistake. There must be something you haven't told us, like the patient's medical history, which is crucial for medication," That doctor added.

"Look, the hospital is trying to shift the blame onto us to avoid responsibility."

Reese frowned at the scene. If this wasn't resolved, it would undoubtedly escalate.

She pushed through the crowd and said, "Excuse me, I'm the discoverer of this medication. If you have any questions, you can speak with me."

Hearing someone step forward, the family members surrounded her aggressively, their eyes filled with hostility.

A burly man, looking furious, seemed ready to take action. "You brought this medication. You killed my dad. If you don't take responsibility, I'll call the police right now and shut this hospital down."

Reese wasn't intimidated by the man's words, but the doctors turned pale at the mention of the police.

"We can't let them call the police. If this blows up, we'll lose our jobs," one of the nurses added.

"How could this happen? This medication has never had issues before," one said.

"Who knows? Medical accidents happen every year. It's just a matter of who gets unlucky."

"Don't talk nonsense. If you say that, we'll lose our jobs before the family can even cause trouble. The dean will fire us immediately!"

Reese stood tall, even though she wasn't as tall as the man in front of her, her aura was equally strong.

With a hint of coldness in her eyes, Reese said, "Are you sure you haven't hidden anything from the doctors? For example, any past medical history of the patient or any allergies to medications? Have you honestly disclosed everything?"

Reese had thoroughly checked, and there were no issues anywhere. However, since the patient had an adverse reaction after taking the medication, it couldn't be ruled out that he had a severe allergy to one of its components.

Moreover, why would family members refuse treatment and cause trouble when the patient was already in shock? There must be something wrong.
