Chapter 486: It's Time to Make Him Pay

The nurse went out and brought Reese over. Seeing Aiden's face, Reese could guess what had gone down.

"Is he furious out of shame?"

"Yeah. He finally showed his true color."

Aiden knew Vincent had built up a lot of resentment. Vincent always thought Aiden favored Malcolm more. His mom had raised him that way, and Aiden tried to change him, but it didn't really work.

After a while, Aiden realized Vincent couldn't change. He always took shortcuts and never really tried to solve problems.

And whenever there was competition, Vincent would do anything, even hurt others.

Reese was pretty chill about it.

"Grandpa, don't stress. For me, if I try my best and it still doesn't work, or if I can't fix things, I just let it go. Some goals can't be achieved just through effort alone. Some people are just born that way, and we can only do our best to have a clear conscience."

Hearing Reese's words, Aiden felt a lot better.

But he still couldn't let go of Vincent. Vincent was still part of the Flynn family, but Aiden knew Vincent wasn't fit to be CEO of the Flynn Group.

"He probably doesn't get my intentions. Once, he and Malcolm were competing on a project. To win, he hurt someone, almost costing Malcolm his life. If the servant hadn't found out in time, Malcolm would've..."

Reese asked, "How old were they at that time?"

"Seventeen. They started early, and Malcolm was much smarter than most. I wanted to train them early."

Hearing this, Reese frowned. At just seventeen, Vincent wanted to take someone's life. If he were in the business world, who knows what unethical things he would do. No wonder he connected with Nolan.

Nolan and his people usually didn't mix with the business world because they had different principles. Plus, the business world looked down on them. But Vincent seemed to have had connections with Nolan for a long time.

No wonder Aiden was so wary of Vincent. If it were her, she'd feel the same. If he did something in the future, the entire Flynn family would have to bear the consequences.

"Grandpa, do you have anything else to say? As for Vincent..."

After all, their upcoming plan might not be friendly to Vincent.

Aiden's expression turned serious. "After today, I've seen through him and know what he's thinking. Go ahead with your plan. It's time he paid for his actions."

Now, Aiden had no attachment left for Vincent. Such a heartless person, if kept around, who knows what terrible things he might do in the future.

Hearing Aiden's words, Reese felt relieved.

"Alright, I'll make the arrangements now. Grandpa, the effects of the medicine should wear off in about ten minutes."

"It's okay. He probably believed it."

Aiden had noticed that when Vincent came in, his eyes were always on the machines next to him, trying to see if Aiden was really dying.

His own grandson wishing for his death every day was truly ironic to Aiden.

Reese didn't know how to comfort him. She just knew it was better to resolve these matters sooner.

"Grandpa, if there's nothing else, I'll be going."

Aiden nodded. "Alright, make your own decisions. The entire Flynn Group and the Flynn family are in your hands now."

Aiden could only trust Reese now. Thinking back to when Reese first married into the family, he had a lot of prejudices against her, thinking she was just a country girl. Now, he never imagined that the fate of the entire Flynn family and the company would be in her hands.

No one can predict the change of fate.

Reese had never broken a promise, especially when it came to her husband's matters. Seeing Aiden's disappointed face, she felt some sympathy for him. After all, at his age, facing such a blow, anyone would struggle to bear it.

Fortunately, Aiden had seen a lot in his life, and this small setback was something he could handle.

Reese promised Aiden, "Don't worry, Grandpa. Since I promised you, I will ensure the Flynn Group remains safe and sound."

Hearing this, Aiden felt reassured.

"Thank you, Reese."

"Take care of yourself, Grandpa."

After Reese left, Jason entered the room.

"Mr. Aiden, what do you think of Reese?"

Aiden smiled. "It would be even better if she could give me a great-grandson."

Jason couldn't help but laugh. "Mr. Aiden, you're already thinking about a great-grandson."

"Who wouldn't? Look at my age. If I don't get to hold one soon, I'll only be able to watch from heaven."

Given Aiden's current health, no one could predict how much longer he could hold on.

Hearing this, Jason felt a bit sad.

"Don't worry, Mr. Aiden. With Reese around, you'll definitely live a long life."

"Let's hope so."

Aiden sighed. He knew his body better than anyone. It wasn't something that could be fixed just by having Reese around.

After leaving the hospital, Reese called Justin, "Justin, Grandpa has agreed. You can start the plan."

"So, Vincent has already been to the hospital. How is Mr. Aiden feeling?"

"He's okay. He expected it, so it's not surprising."

"True."

Justin was just worried that at Aiden's age, he would have to endure the betrayal of his own grandson. After all, he had watched Vincent grow up, but never expected him to turn out this way. What could Aiden do?

After calling Justin, Reese called Calvin to finalize the arrangements. Soon, there would be a good show to watch.

Vincent was feeling triumphant. Aiden was about to die, Malcolm was under investigation, and Reese, no matter how capable, couldn't turn the tide. This time, he was confident that the shareholders wouldn't rebel.

Vincent was preparing for another shareholders' meeting tomorrow, intending to oust Malcolm.

With the shareholders' support, he was sure he could take the position.

After waiting for so long, Vincent was finally on the brink of achieving his dream.
