Chapter 446 The Ability to Read Ten Lines at a Glance

Reese retracted her gaze and urged the nurse beside her, saying, "Take the patient inside first."

"Yes."

Having received Reese's assurance, the family couldn't say much more. After all, she was willing to take responsibility. If they continued to argue, it would sound like they were making excuses.

It wouldn't be beneficial for them either.

At this moment, Thomas handed over a file. "Reese, these are all the patient's previous medical records. Take a look. It might help you."

Reese weighed the file in her hand and smiled wryly. "Grandpa Robert, there's so much here. How can I read it all?"

Thomas looked at Reese with an approving gaze. "I know your speed-reading skills are no joke."

Reese's memory was extraordinary. Anything she read, even just once, she could remember every word clearly, not missing a single detail. This was a significant advantage for her.

She took the file. "Then please help calm these people outside."

"Focus on saving lives inside. Your husband and I are outside," Thomas added.

Thomas knew that if Malcolm wanted to help Reese keep things under control, it would be no problem at all.

"Okay, I got it." Reese followed into the operating room and said to the assisting doctors, "First, resuscitate."

"Yes." The doctors followed Reese's instructions. Reese quickly flipped through the medical records Thomas had given her. Only by understanding the patient's true condition could she determine whether the issue was due to medication or the patient's own health.

"Hurry up, continue... No, we need to increase it," Reese demanded.

A doctor saw the patient's vitals plummeting and panicked. "Dr. Brooks, we can't hold on here."

"Hold on for two more minutes!" Reese continued flipping through the records without looking up.

The doctor's assistant was almost shocked by Reese's speed. 'Is Reese a monster? How could she read so fast? This medical record is dozens of pages long. Even if we read it, we would need to pay attention to the symptoms and analyze them carefully. How could Reese read so quickly?' other doctors pondered.

The key was how much could Reese remember after reading? This was highly doubtful.

The assistant had already concluded in his mind that if they couldn't save this person, Reese would be blamed for wasting time reading the records.

His career might be over.

None of the doctors assisting Reese had any confidence in her. They were unfamiliar with her and felt she hadn't demonstrated her true skills. She was just flipping through records the whole time. Wasn't this wasting time?

The monitor's alarm for the patient's vitals started going off. Assistant Joshua Steven and the others panicked even more. "Dr. Brooks, it's not working..."

Reese said, "Immediately!"

"But..." the assistant was confused.

The patient was on the brink of death, yet Reese didn't seem anxious at all.

They couldn't understand what Reese was thinking.

But they were helpless. They had done their best.

Just as they were about to give up, Reese closed the medical records and turned to them sternly. "Prepare the defibrillator..."

"What? This person is already..." one of the assistants was dumbfounded.

Reese's attitude was firm. "Do as I say."

Outside, people were waiting anxiously. Justin walked up to Malcolm and whispered in his ear. "Mr. Flynn, should I disperse the crowd?"

"No need. I trust my wife's medical skills. But you should quickly investigate if there's something wrong with the family," Malcolm said.

If they truly cared about their father, how could they be arguing with the hospital while he was in shock?

This wasn't normal behavior.

Justin nodded. "I'll check right away!"

An hour into the surgery, the family started causing trouble again.

"Is that doctor you hired even capable? If she can't do it, let us transfer him immediately. If my dad dies in the operating room, none of your attending doctors will get away with it."

"Exactly. We've never seen that woman before. We don't even know if she's a real doctor. If she kills him, you'll all go to jail!"

"Poor Dad, how did he end up with these heartless doctors? If we had known you were giving him random medications, we wouldn't have come here. Now you've hired a young woman who might not even be a doctor to operate on him!"

"That woman doesn't look like a doctor. She must be a random hire. If she kills my dad, I'll go down with her..."

Before the man could finish, a tall figure appeared before him. Malcolm, already imposing, exuded an aura that made them too scared to breathe. They looked at him with apprehension.

The man in front of them, dressed in a suit, was clearly not an ordinary person. He had twisted his hand earlier, and it still hadn't recovered. He felt uneasy.

But if their goal wasn't achieved, it would be a significant loss for them.

Malcolm stood in front of the man, his brow furrowed, his eyes cold, exuding a sense of pressure. "If you don't want to save your father, you can take him away now. But it has nothing to do with the hospital or my wife. If you want to save him, trust her. Arguing here is useless."

The man immediately retorted, "How can we not want our father to get better? It's the hospital's fault for using random medications. And that woman... we still don't know if she's a real doctor. Can you just hire anyone to treat patients?"

Malcolm's eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint in his dark pupils. He asked pointedly, "Then let me ask you, when the patient went into shock, your first action should have been to find a doctor for immediate resuscitation. What were you doing? Arguing with the doctor, blaming the hospital. Will that make your father better? You doubt the hospital, but now I doubt your intentions. Are you using your father's life to blackmail the hospital for some purpose?"

Malcolm's pointed questions left them stunned. A woman tried to challenge Malcolm but, faced with his cold gaze, could only weakly retort. "You... you're slandering us. Do you have any evidence?"

Malcolm's insight was as sharp as Reese's. He could see through a person's inner thoughts from their micro-expressions. It was hard to hide anything from him.

He was now almost certain that this couple had issues.

Malcolm raised an eyebrow. "You want evidence? No problem, it will come soon."
