Chapter 440 Utilize Sofia
Vincent's eyes held a sinister smile that gave people goosebumps.
"How about letting her join your organization? I know Sofia is short on money right now. Her mother is seriously ill and urgently needs surgery," Vincent said.
Nolan suddenly realized. "Then we can have Sofia get close to Reese. Only the most trusted person can easily approach her. Once we bring Reese down, Malcolm is like a bird with broken wings."
"Wrong, that would be his death!" Vincent added.
Vincent had seen firsthand how Malcolm treated Reese like she was the most precious thing in the world.
Nolan was taken aback. "I never thought that the high and mighty Malcolm would turn into this for a woman."
Vincent couldn't wait for this. When Malcolm was single, no one could control him. In terms of ability and other aspects, he was unmatched. But that was because he focused on the company and his career completely. Now, Reese became his vulnerability.
This was where Vincent could exploit.
He recalled the times he felt stifled in the Flynn family, anger rising in his eyes as he clenched his fists tightly.
"We are both descendants of the Flynn family. Why does Malcolm get to be the CEO of the Flynn Group?" Vincent shouted.
Vincent thougt, 'I could only stay in the medical clinic all day. Even though I have achieved a certain status and reputation in the medical field, who wouldn't want to develop better and be known by more people? Why is Malcolm admired by everyone while I remain obscure?'
"What can you do? Aiden valued Malcolm most." Nolan's words further stung Vincent, his face twisted in rage as he clenched his fists tightly.
"That's why I want to prove myself in front of Aiden. I'm not inferior to Malcolm," Vincent added.
'If I can become CEO, I will do better than Malcolm,' Vincent ponered.
Hearing Vincent's words, Nolan felt a bit more trust in him. "You must have a plan for Sofia, right?"
After all, it was Vincent's idea.
"Yes, you just need to follow my instructions. But you need to find someone to persuade Sofia. She is a bit stubborn and was particularly good to Reese before, so..." Vincent's meaning was clear, it was up to Nolan to understand.
Nolan immediately got it, and the two of them were on the same page.
"Don't worry, I'll find someone to handle it," Nolan replied.
Reese had been busy dealing with Everhart and Hugo's matters these past few days and hadn't had time to go to the Flynn Group. She also didn't go when Sophia called her for a meal.
That day, she was about to go to a secret base to figure out the next project. She had just bought a cup of coffee from a café and bumped into someone as she came out.
Reese instinctively apologized. "Sorry, I didn't see you."
"Reese..."
Hearing the familiar voice, Reese looked up and saw it was Sofia.
They hadn't seen each other since the last class reunion. She didn't expect to run into her here today.
Since Sofia greeted her so warmly, she naturally couldn't refuse.
"What a coincidence." Sofia looked at Reese as if she had seen a family member and almost went up to hug her.
But knowing her dislike of physical contact, Sofia withdrew her extended hand.
"Reese, I know it was you who helped me get a job last time. Thank you so much. It really saved me. You have no idea how short on money I've been lately," Sofia said.
"It's nothing, just a small favor. Consider it a thank you for looking after me in college," Reese replied.
Although Reese didn't like getting close to others, it didn't mean she didn't recognize who was good to her.
Sofia was a very upright person. She wouldn't distance herself just because of other people's negative opinions. On the contrary, she would try to get close and use her kindness to move Reese.
Compared to those hypocritical people, Reese preferred someone straightforward like Sofia. In fact, Sofia's personality was quite similar to Reese's.
Both of them were straightforward. Though timid, they were still very upright and was able to distinguish right from wrong. They wouldn't go along with the crowd.
Reese generally had a much higher opinion of such people.
Sofia shyly smiled. "It's nothing. I just couldn't stand those people talking behind your back. You're a good person, they were just jealous."
"Actually, I don't care about that." Reese didn't care about people who had nothing to do with her.
Sofia snapped out of it and quickly said, "Since we ran into each other today, how about I treat you to a meal? We haven't seen each other in a while, you have to accept my invitation."
Sofia clasped her hands together, looking at Reese with hopeful eyes, pleading.
Reese felt a bit troubled. "But I have things to do. How about we exchange contact information and set up another time?"
Reese indeed had a lot to do, both work-related and with Nolan, requiring a lot of preparation.
Sofia was a bit disappointed but didn't want to force Reese, knowing she was really busy.
"Alright, let's exchange contacts. Next time you have time, let me know. You can't refuse me then," Sofia added.
"Okay."
They exchanged contact information, and Sofia finally smiled again. Reese saw it was getting late, and Calvin and the others were waiting for her.
"I have to go now, let's catch up another time," Reese replied.
"Okay."
Reese got into her car with her coffee and left. Sofia watched her leave, sighing with envy at Reese's poise and ability, wondering why she didn't have those qualities. Others soared to success while Sofia struggled to make ends meet.
Reese had been her idol since college.
Sofia snapped out of her thoughts and was about to leave when she suddenly felt something sharp pressed against her waist. Instinctively wanting to scream, the person behind her spoke menacingly. "Don't scream, or I'll kill you!"
Sofia had never encountered such a situation before, her legs went weak, and she didn't dare scream for help.
She trembled, not daring to turn her head, her voice shaking with fear. "What do you want?"
"Come with us and you'll find out. Behave and we won't hurt you!" that person added.
Sofia went blank with fear in her mind, not knowing what to do. She could only agree.
"Okay. I'll go with you, just don't kill me." Soon, Sofia was taken into a black car and driven away from the street.
