Chapter 215 Making Them Divorce

"What do you want from me? I just called you out, and that offended you?" Everly was frustrated that no matter how well she prepared her retorts against Reese in her mind, she never managed to land a blow. Reese was just too adaptable.

She felt absolutely powerless against Reese.

"You haven't offended me; you've insulted me, you’ve crossed the line. If you were smart, you wouldn’t keep running headlong into the same wall," Reese said definitively, prepared to demand an apology, no matter what.

And the last thing Everly wanted to do was apologize, especially to someone as haughty as Reese.

In desperation, she looked to Grandpa Flynn for assistance. "Grandpa..."

Of course, Grandpa Flynn took Everly's side. Clearing his throat, he said, "Reese, we're all family here. There's no need for such pettiness, alright?"

Reese just offered a cold smile.

"I wouldn't bother being petty, but this isn't the first time this has happened. What if she does it again—should I just keep tolerating it?" There was no word for 'tolerance' in Reese's vocabulary.

Everly turned to Malcolm, hoping for support. "Malcolm..."

"No use. Apologize. You were the one who spoke out of turn,” Malcolm responded firmly, siding with his wife.

Seeing that no one would stand up for her, Everly felt a profound sense of disappointment and disillusionment.
She never would have guessed that everyone in this room would end up brainwashed by Reese.

For reasons she couldn’t pin down, Reese managed to send her a clear message: if she didn’t apologize today, Reese would make sure she regretted it.

Reluctantly, Everly clenched her fists and decided to swallow her pride.

“I’m sorry.”

“Make it sound like you mean it!” Reese wasn’t going to let it slide.

Through gritted teeth, Everly spat out, “You...”

“As an adult, you’re expected to face the consequences of your actions, not blab whatever you want like a toddler. You’re a director of the company, for heaven's sake. Shouldn’t you at least know the basics of professional conduct without me having to spell it out for you?”

She was at a loss for words.

Alyssa, on the other hand, could barely contain her laughter. If only she could wield Reese’s lethal venom, that would be awesome.

It was no secret that Everly often hunted for trouble with Reese. Even Alyssa, a bystander, found it hard to watch. Not that she was siding with Reese out of any sense of duty; it was just that Everly went too far.

“Maybe apologize to Reese sincerely. She’s not that petty,” She suggested to Everly.

Staring Alyssa down with a look of sheer frustration, Everly snapped.

“Alyssa, whose side are you on?”

“I’m for what’s right, not for relations. Plus, Reese hasn’t said a word to you, and yet you keep provoking her. Anyone would get mad; you can’t blame others for that.”

Despite Everly’s words, Alyssa was admittedly leaning more towards Reese. She came across as honest and direct, unlike others who were two-faced and repulsive.

It seemed Everly was ready to explode with anger. So now she had to apologize to Reese, right?

Just like before, she had to bite the bullet and, with a display of sincerity, say to Reese, “I’m sorry, Reese. I won’t speak to you that way again. It was all my fault this time.”

There wasn’t a hint of softening on Reese’s icy expression. Instead, she stood there with an arrogant look, which only fueled Everly's rage more.

“Sorry doesn't cut it. You'd better remember this lesson.”

Everly’s face turned crimson with humiliation. Reese had made her look like a fool in front of everyone.

Afterward, Everly burst into tears and stormed back to her room, slamming things around in a fit of rage, wishing she could smash everything to pieces.

“That witch! What makes her think she’s better than me? Someone with no background whatsoever! How dare she treat me like this?”

At that moment, Vincent walked in, leaning against the doorframe with the air of someone watching a show.

“What’s the matter? Got into another spat with Reese?”

“Spat? I’d like to tear her apart!”
"Why do you even bother trying to pick fights with her when you know you can't win? It just makes you look stubborn."

To Vincent, Everly was like a headstrong kid, always putting her emotions first without considering that some matters required a more measured approach.

Reese wasn't an easy target; smooth talking wouldn't bring her down.

Everly was fuming. "What am I supposed to do?"

"Play the long game. Instead of clashing with her, why not dig into her past? I can tell Grandpa has issues with her. But with Malcolm shielding her, our hands are tied. If we can uncover some of her shady history, that should pose a real problem for her."

Even public figures fear rumors and scandals, let alone a prestigious household like the Flynns. Grandpa values the family’s reputation above all.

Every time Everly or Alyssa dated someone, they had to bring them home for Grandpa's approval. Character was key; without it, no relationship stood a chance.

This just went to show, if Reese had any skeletons in her closet, once Grandpa was angered, Malcolm's feelings wouldn't matter. He would never allow someone who tarnished the Flynn name to stay part of the family.

Everly's eyes lit up as if Vincent had just illuminated a path. "That's brilliant. There's no way a woman like her doesn't have dirt to hide. Maybe she has conned Malcolm all along."

"Conned is a strong word. But someone as astute as her sticking around is a risk for everyone."

Vincent was already struggling to handle Malcolm, and Everly was harboring a grudge. Malcolm's leg was irreparable, all thanks to Reese. If it wasn't for her, the Flynn Group might not be under Malcolm's control.

Oblivious to Vincent's manipulative tactics, Everly’s mind was consumed with rage towards Reese. She lacked the clout to tear her rival apart, although she wished she could.

Her interest piqued instantly. "Alright, you come up with a plan. Whatever it takes, I want her out of the Flynn family, and I don't want to see her for another day."

"Do it my way," Vincent whispered persuasively.

Everly's eyes widened at the suggestion. "Are you sure?"

If Malcolm were to find out, he'd be furious.

Seeing Everly's hesitation, Vincent gave her another push.
"Do you really want to stand by and watch them be all lovey-dovey forever?"
"No, I wish they would get a divorce already!"
"Then do as I say." Vincent was now almost certain of success.
"Alright, got it."
