Chapter 618 Are You Pregnant?
Everly threw out a wild guess, "Could she be pregnant?"
Everyone's eyes widened, and Aiden's face lit up. "Yeah, could she? You two have been married for a while now."
Malcolm quickly leaned down to Reese. "Babe, your period was on the 15th last month, right? It's past the 20th now. Did it come?"
Reese's heart skipped a beat. "I don't think so."
Everyone's faces lit up with excitement.
Aiden was practically beaming. "Then she must be pregnant!"
Reese wasn't so sure and didn't want to get their hopes up. "Maybe my stomach's just upset."
Alyssa jumped up, more excited than Reese. "How about I go get a pregnancy test for her?"
Sebastian glanced at her. "You know about that stuff?"
"Isn't it common knowledge?" Alyssa shot back. She was an adult, after all.
Sebastian worried it was too late for Alyssa to go out alone, so he stood up. "I'll go with you."
"Okay, sure," Alyssa agreed.
They set off quickly. The pharmacy was just a ten-minute walk away.
Sebastian was happy; it gave him more time to talk to her.
They walked along the flower bed, the dim streetlights casting long shadows. In the quiet night, they could hear insects and birds near the bushes.
Alyssa seemed particularly excited. "It'd be awesome if Reese is pregnant. With their looks, their kid's gonna be gorgeous."
Sebastian turned to her. "Do you prefer boys or girls?"
"Girls. If I have a daughter, I want her to live freely, like me, without any constraints," Alyssa said dreamily. Being in a wealthy family, many things were out of her control. It was only because Aiden didn't impose many restrictions that they could live as they pleased.
She'd seen many wealthy socialites who seemed glamorous but lived sorrowful lives.
She didn't want her daughter to end up like that. She just wanted her to live a safe and happy life.
Sebastian nodded. "What a coincidence, I think the same way."
Alyssa gave him a sidelong glance. "What does that have to do with me? You like yours, and I like mine."
Sebastian wasn't deterred, casually putting his arm around her shoulder. "You're gonna marry me someday. If you don't have my kid, whose kid are you gonna have?"
"I haven't agreed yet," Alyssa hadn't expected him to be so forward.
Sebastian wasn't fazed. "If you don't agree, I'll tell Aiden and have him marry you off to me."
"Alright, stop talking nonsense. Let's hurry and get the pregnancy test for Reese," Alyssa dragged Sebastian towards the pharmacy.
As soon as they walked in, the clerk approached them. "Can I help you with something?"
"We need a pregnancy test," Alyssa said, not thinking much of it.
But both she and Sebastian were young, just in their early twenties, and their good looks drew attention.
When the clerk heard Alyssa was there to buy a pregnancy test, she gave her a sympathetic look. "Young lady, be careful. Protect yourself, especially as a girl. If you get pregnant and have an abortion at such a young age, it will have a big impact on you. Even if boys get impulsive, they should still take care of their girlfriends' bodies."
Alyssa realized they had misunderstood. "It's not like that, you misunderstood. This pregnancy test isn't for..."
"Even if she is pregnant, I won't let her have an abortion. She'll keep the baby," Sebastian cut in.
The clerk smiled approvingly. "That's the right attitude, young man. A man should be responsible."
She handed the pregnancy test to Alyssa, giving her a ton of advice.
Alyssa tried to explain a few times but was stopped by Sebastian. After buying the test, they left the pharmacy.
Outside, Alyssa asked, "Why didn't you let me explain?"
Sebastian shrugged. "Do they look like the type to listen? Explaining would just make it more complicated. It's better to say nothing. Besides, who's pregnant and whether the baby is kept has nothing to do with them."
Alyssa thought about it and nodded. "You're right. Why explain to people who don't matter? Let's go back. Malcolm must be anxious. This could be the moment he finds out he's gonna be a dad."
Sebastian nodded. "Yeah, let's go."
When they got back, Alyssa quickly handed the pregnancy test to Reese. "Reese, hurry up. We're all waiting downstairs."
"Okay," Reese said. She wasn't opposed to being pregnant, but she wasn't overly excited either. She just thought that having a child would be a good thing, a symbol of their love.
Everyone waited downstairs, the anticipation thick in the air. This was the moment to see if the Flynn family would have a new addition.
Aiden was grinning from ear to ear and quickly told Jason, "Go find a fortune teller to come up with a good name."
Jason laughed. "Mr. Flynn, isn't it a bit early for that? We haven't even confirmed the pregnancy yet."
"She will be pregnant, definitely pregnant," Aiden seemed to be praying, afraid this hope would be dashed.
A few minutes later, Reese came downstairs, and Malcolm quickly approached, his eyes full of anticipation. "Honey, how did it go?"
Reese looked calm. "Yes, I'm pregnant."
"Reese is really pregnant," Alyssa exclaimed.
"Reese is pregnant, so I'm going to be an uncle," Sebastian said.
"And I'm going to be a great-grandfather. I can finally hold my great-grandchild," Aiden was beaming.
Jason was also happy. "Yes, you're going to hold your great-grandchild. That's wonderful."
The atmosphere in the living room became even more joyful with the news of Reese's pregnancy.
Knowing Reese was pregnant, Malcolm immediately became more vigilant. "That means we have to be careful. Honey, from now on, leave the company and other matters to me. You don't need to worry about them."
It seemed he wanted her to focus on her pregnancy.
Aiden seemed to remember something and spoke to Malcolm. "Also, you should take Reese to the hospital tomorrow. Given her condition, she should have a thorough check-up."
Malcolm replied, "I know, Grandpa. Don't worry. I'll take Reese to the hospital tomorrow."
Aiden sighed. "It's a pity. If it weren't for Vincent's mistakes, you wouldn't have to handle everything alone. At least you'd have someone to help."
Everyone knew Aiden was feeling sentimental. After all, Vincent was also part of the Flynn family, and it was hard for Aiden not to feel conflicted.
Alyssa didn't want to see Aiden sad, so she went up to comfort him. "Grandpa, it's not your fault or anyone else's. It was his choice. What does it have to do with us? When he wanted to harm you, he didn't think about you being his grandfather."
Aiden understood and waved his hand. "Alright. It's their choice. Let's sit down and eat. Jason, ask the kitchen to prepare some light dishes. Now that Reese is pregnant, she won't want anything greasy."
Jason nodded. "I'll take care of it right away."
