Chapter 373 So Awesome

Malcolm saw Reese looking worried, and he wished he could just merge Reese into his own body.

"Don't worry, honey. As long as you're here, no one can force you to do anything you don't want to do. If you don't want any ties with the Hawthorne family, then we won't have any. No matter what Stephen tries, I'm here."

Whenever Reese heard Malcolm say these words, she felt secure. That floating heart of hers would finally settle down.

This sense of security was something no one else could provide her, only this man in front of her.

It was like Reese had taken a calming pill from Malcolm, stabilizing her emotions. Reese realized she wasn't as strong as she had imagined, and there were things beyond her control.

However, Reese couldn't be passive. If Stephen could send Sebastian to persuade her today, no one knows who he might send next time.

If this matter remained unresolved, Stephen might resort to more drastic measures. Reese couldn't let herself be bullied. Sometimes, she had to take the initiative.

She needed to calm her mind now and figure out how to handle this situation without implicating those around her. She didn't want Malcolm to be affected by her family issues.

The future dangers were unknown, and she was willing to take risks herself, but she couldn't let Malcolm take those risks with her.

"Let's go back." She fastened her seatbelt and said calmly.

Considering Reese hadn't eaten yet Malcolm suggested. "How about we grab a meal before heading back?"

"No need, I can't eat right now. I have things to take care of when I get back."

"What do you want to do?"

Seeing the gleam in Reese's eyes, Malcolm knew there was something up. Honey was surely plotting something in her mind.

"Stephen wants to force me into submission. He needs to consider if he's capable of that. Does he think I'll let myself be taken advantage of?"

If Reese didn't teach Stephen a lesson, he might not realize he shouldn't mess with her easily.

Malcolm knew Reese wasn't the type to be easily bullied. Stephen had picked the wrong fight this time.

Malcolm had promised to support Reese no matter what decision she made.

"Do you need my help?"

"No, I can handle it myself. I just need to give him a lesson."

Just the thought of Stephen's future reaction made Reese feel better. Compared to Stephen's past actions, her little retaliation was nothing.

Malcolm didn't insist. "Alright, if you need anything, just let me know."

"I got it."

Back at home, Reese entered the study with her laptop, while Justin stood beside Malcolm, looking curious.

"Mr. Flynn, what do you think Reese is going to do?"

Malcolm's eyes sparkled with interest. "An eye for an eye."

It seemed like Stephen was in for a tough time. Seeing his once abandoned daughter now excelling, Stephen's thoughts were a mystery.

Reese dialed Clavin's number after opening her laptop.

Clavin, who is full of fighting spirit, said. "Reese, what are your orders?"

"Keep an eye out for me. I'm about to access the Hawthorne family's backend system."

"Boss, I heard from Lucius that you ran into Sebastian from the Hawthorne family at the race today. And he even had people waiting for you at the restaurant."

Clavin was furious at the mention of this. Sebastian had really crossed the line by daring to offend Reese.

Reese didn't disclose her true identity to Clavin, not out of intention to hide it, but she felt it was pointless since she had no connection to the Hawthorne family. So she didn't mention it to Clavin.

"I'll handle this. You stay out of it. Keep an eye out for me to avoid alerting the Hawthorne family."

"Don't worry, Reese. I'm on it. If Sebastian dares to mess with you, he won't live to regret it."

"I'm inside now."

Reese was swift in her actions, coupled with her expertise in this area, infiltrating the Hawthorne family's backend wasn't a challenge.

"I'm starting on my end. You focus on your task."

By this time, Sebastian had returned home in a huff. Stephen sat in the living room, leisurely sipping his coffee, seemingly unconcerned about Sebastian's actions.

As soon as Sebastian entered, he began to complain. "Stephen, I never knew you had such a formidable daughter. She almost sent me to the hospital."

Stephen, with his usual cunning expression, didn't even look surprised. He didn't even lift an eyelid, just replied. "My warnings to you before were genuine. You underestimated her."

Sebastian plopped down on the sofa, looking disgruntled. "Is that underestimating her? With their skills, even if I brought ten more people, it wouldn't have made a difference."

Who has seen someone take down a dozen or more people without breaking a sweat, let alone breaking a sweat or showing any signs of distress? Sebastian certainly hadn't.

Upon hearing this, Stephen finally looked up, took a sip of his coffee, and asked. "So, you were all defeated?"

"Within five minutes, not a single one could stand, except for me, who didn't participate in the fight. Luckily, I stayed out. Otherwise, you'd be visiting me in the hospital now."

Based on the previous situation, Sebastian roughly estimated that was the case.

Sebastian still felt that Reese hadn't fully unleashed all her skills yet. When she did, it would probably surprise them all.

Previously, it was her racing skills, now it was her combat skills. His sister was indeed mysterious.

Stephen propped up his legs. "It's normal. Reese followed Nolan before, so her skills are extraordinary. She can even spar with special forces. Do you think the people you brought can match her?"

Sebastian widened his eyes, his voice rising. "You knew she was skilled, yet you sent me to confront her. Stephen, It's unfair."

"That's because I knew you wouldn't dare to face her head-on. Besides, you're back safe and sound, right? If I didn't send anyone, how would we test her skills? We've never had any contact with your sister, and all we know are rumors about her. Whether they're true or not, remember one thing that she has a bad temper, and she's not easy to handle."

At that moment, the assistant rushed in. "Mr. Hawthorne, something's wrong. Our backend system has been breached, and the stocks have plummeted to the circuit breaker limit. We suspect someone is manipulating behind the scenes, and there are traces in the backend indicating it was tampered with."

Sebastian jumped up from his chair. "Damn, who's this skilled to openly breach our company's backend! And manipulate the stocks, too!"
