Chapter 503 Benefits Not Shared with Others
Reese clenched her fist lightly and cleared her throat. "Um, note this down."
The female employee snapped out of her daydream. "Sorry."
As she looked away, Reese noticed her still sneaking glances at Malcolm, like a girl with a crush.
Reese got it, though. With Malcolm's looks, he was bound to turn heads. She wasn't the jealous type, not enough to get mad if someone checked out her husband.
But Malcolm's presence here was disrupting her work.
Reese turned to him. "Why don't you step outside for a bit? You're too distracting for our female employees."
Malcolm glanced around and saw all the women staring at him, whispering.
"He's so handsome!"
"Right? I noticed him the second he walked in. He's not just good-looking; he's got that cool, noble vibe. I love it."
"I want to ask for his number."
"Are you nuts? Didn't you see his wife next to him?"
"That's his wife? I thought they were business partners."
Since it was Reese's first time here, not many people knew her. She usually let her team handle things.
Reese wasn't surprised. She was dressed too simply today. Compared to Malcolm's suit and tie, it was night and day. Misunderstandings were bound to happen.
Malcolm noticed too. He lowered his eyes and placed a hand on Reese's shoulder. She looked at him, puzzled.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing, just thinking my wife looks really good and wanted to take a look."
His eyes were warm, softening his usually cold features.
Reese was stunned. This guy, even if he wanted to, should consider the occasion. So many young girls were watching.
Sure enough, the girls started gossiping.
"Oh my God, that was so sweet. Did you hear him? He called her so tenderly. As a voice enthusiast, I'm in heaven."
"I can imagine a CEO TV series in my head, especially with that voice—magnetic, deep. Oh my God."
Malcolm's presence made the whole factory lively. Reese looked helpless. If she had known, she wouldn't have brought him. This was totally messing with her work.
She tugged on Malcolm's arm, letting go of her earlier seriousness and revealing a playful side.
"Can you wait outside for me?"
Malcolm's dark eyes were filled with indulgence. "Okay, but you have to kiss me first."
"I have to... kiss you? Do you even know where we are?"
"Our place."
Malcolm replied confidently, leaving Reese, who was usually sharp-tongued, momentarily speechless.
Reese slumped her shoulders, a slight smile on her lips, then quickly stood on tiptoe and planted a kiss on Malcolm's cheek.
"Oh my God."
"That's so sweet. I don't need TV dramas anymore; just watching them is enough."
"Do they use social media? I want to follow them."
"Take a picture first. This scene is too beautiful."
With one person's reminder, others started taking out their phones to snap pictures.
Seeing the uncontrollable scene, Reese quickly urged Malcolm.
"Hurry up and go out."
"Alright, seeing how sincere you are, I'll agree."
Reese gritted her teeth, seeing his smug smile.
"Well, I really have to thank you."
Malcolm's lips curled into a smile. "You're welcome."
After Malcolm left, the factory finally quieted down, and Reese breathed a sigh of relief.
After ending the call, Reese turned to the female employee beside her. "Alright, let's continue. Record the quantities here and figure out where to distribute them. For the near-expiry ones, feel free to take them home if you want."
"Got it, Ms. Brooks."
Just then, Reese's phone rang.
"Let me take this call."
"Okay."
She walked to the side. "What's up?"
"Ms. Brooks, our coffee factory doesn't need to close down anymore."
"What do you mean?" Reese was puzzled.
"Check the sales. Our coffee sales surged overnight, now ranking first or second. If this keeps up, we won't need to close the factory. We might even need to increase production."
Reese wasn't happy; she found it odd. The coffee had been unpopular, so why the sudden spike? They hadn't done any recent promotions or endorsements.
"Have you checked where these sales are coming from?"
"Yes, mostly from office workers and big companies. You can see many people drinking our coffee now."
Selling coffee well was good, but a sudden spike was strange.
Reese frowned. "Keep an eye on it. I'll handle things here first. If we need to increase production, have the workers work overtime with triple pay."
"Okay, Ms. Brooks, I'll take care of it now."
"Alright."
After hanging up, Reese turned to the female employee next to her.
"Do you have a computer?"
"Yes."
Reese sat down, and the employees around her were curious. They watched her open an unknown site with some codes they couldn't understand, and her typing speed amazed them.
"Oh my God, what's going on? Ms. Brooks' hands are flying."
"So fast, but what is she doing? I still don't get it."
"Is she... our boss?"
"You just found out? You were calling her 'that woman' earlier."
"I didn't know. I just saw someone really good-looking walk in with a really good-looking CEO."
Reese quickly discovered where the coffee sales were headed.
Mostly to companies and malls, especially office buildings, and in bulk purchases.
The female employee couldn't help but exclaim, "Oh my God, why are so many people suddenly buying, and all office workers?"
"What's so strange about that? Office workers need it. You don't know how sleepy those in office buildings get, staring at computers all day. Without coffee, it's torture."
Reese turned her head and asked pointedly, "But how did they all know about this coffee overnight?"
The sudden surge in buyers made her suspicious, sensing manipulation behind the scenes.
The female employee couldn't think of an answer. The coffee wasn't very popular, and although they had done a lot of promotion, it was still a bit pricey compared to instant coffee.
Domestic brands were cheaper, and while not top-notch, they weren't bad either.
Their brand, although they had the agency rights and were producing it themselves, couldn't lower the price. It was okay for occasional consumption, but drinking it every day was a bit much.
Reese called Louis, putting him on speaker as her hands were busy typing.
Louis shouted, "Reese, what do you need?"
"Louis, help me check if the recent coffee purchases were made within seven to eight hours."
"Is it the coffee company Mr. Flynn gave you?"
"Yes, but because of poor sales, I was planning to sell it off in small quantities. But suddenly, sales skyrocketed, and I find it very strange."
