Chapter 405 Everhart's Plea for Help
Malcolm wondered if such a trivial matter really required Reese to act so coquettishly with him here.
Malcolm really enjoyed listening to Reese's voice, always feeling that she gave all her tenderness to him.
Malcolm walked to Reese's side, rubbed her head, and said in a deep voice, "Do you really like that coffee?"
"Yes, I think it's great."
Before, Reese had Calvin buy all kinds of coffee: cheap, expensive and imported, but she didn’t like any of it. They all seemed average.
Malcolm nodded thoughtfully. "Alright, got it."
The next moment, Malcolm called Justin and instructed him.
"Make a cup of coffee for Reese."
"At once, Mr. Flynn."
Reese didn't like to trouble others too much, and she knew Justin had a lot on his plate every day.
"There's no need. Just have Justin bring the coffee, and I'll brew it at my desk."
Malcolm bent down slightly and kissed Reese's lips, his eyes and brows filled with a smile. "But I want you to stay here a bit longer."
"I'd love to, but I think Sophia might need me to comfort her again. She was really scared just now."
Reese could still remember Sophia's terrified expression and how she trembled all over. Reese had never seen someone so timid before, but this time, she finally had.
Malcolm sensed Reese's concern for Sophia, but he didn't know much about their relationship.
However, judging by Reese's demeanor, Sophia probably liked her.
"Should we give her a couple of days off? If her condition is as bad as you say, it could easily lead to work issues," he said.
"I think that's fine, but you need to come up with a plausible reason to give her time off. Otherwise, people in the company will gossip behind her back."
Malcolm raised his slender fingers to lift her chin. "Aren't you afraid?"
"I'm not afraid. But with Sophia's personality, she must be afraid."
In the morning, Reese almost got hurt. If she hadn't been quick, Sophia might have suffered too. Given Natalie's vengeful nature, she wouldn't have spared Sophia.
Malcolm's lips curled slightly. "Looks like my wife is getting better and better. She now cares for others."
This was the real Reese. The previous one was just wearing a mask.
Reese just wanted to protect herself with her stoic facade, but in reality, she was a warm person. As long as someone treated her well, she would want to repay them handsomely.
The old Reese wouldn't have even bothered to lift an eyelid for Sophia, let alone consider her feelings.
Reese glanced at Malcolm. She reached out to hook her arm around his neck. She exerted a little force with her fingers, threatening him.
"Are you saying I lacked compassion before?"
"That's not what I meant, my wife now is even better, especially in bed."
As he spoke, the topic changed suddenly. Malcolm's handsome features gradually softened with a smile, and his eyebrows raised slightly, a few degrees less cold than his usual but more attractive self.
The two of them tussled on the couch, both agile, neither giving in. When Justin walked in, he almost dropped the coffee in his hand in shock, quickly intervening.
"Mr. Flynn, Mrs. Flynn, why are you fighting? Stop it. If the others see this, it'll be so embarrassing."
Malcolm was the first to retract his hand. He straightened his collar, resumed his usual seriousness, and even asked Justin a question.
"Which eye did you see us fighting with?"
Justin hesitated for a moment, then boldly replied, "Didn't I see it with both eyes?"
"We were just sparring, understand?"
Malcolm said, walking over to take the coffee from Justin's hand and then turning around to hand it to Reese.
"Honey, have some coffee and take a break."
Justin suddenly felt envious. Why did he come at this time? He thought that the couple might be arguing, and he wanted to mediate, but it turned out they were very affectionate.
Justin lowered his head, wanting to leave quickly so he could eat lunch later.
"Mr. Flynn, if there's nothing else, I'll head out first."
"Wait. Can you go talk to this coffee operator and see if they're willing to transfer it to me?"
Justin was surprised. "Mr. Flynn, are you planning to take over this brand of coffee?"
'Just because Mrs. Flynn likes it. This is too indulgent,' Justin thought.
Malcolm looked at Justin with disdain. "What's wrong with you lately? Why is your mind getting duller?"
Justin thought again, 'It's because you're confusing me.'
But he couldn't say it and felt anxious inside.
When the boss gave an order, what could he do? Mr. Flynn really doted on his wife.
"I'll go do it right away," Justin said.
Justin turned around to leave, but Reese suddenly shouted, "Don't go, don't listen to him."
Reese didn't want to drink this brand of coffee for a lifetime.
Malcolm insisted. "Hurry up, stop dawdling."
"Don't go!"
"You're not even listening to me?"
Malcolm played his trump card directly.
Being caught in between these two people, Justin was almost driven crazy.
But in the end, Justin would definitely have to listen to Malcolm. Whoever pays him is his boss.
After Justin left, Reese kept nagging at Malcolm.
"Really, dear, there's no need for that. Maybe one day I'll want to switch to a different brand of coffee."
"Will you want to switch to a different husband one day?"
Reese shook her head. "I have no plans to switch. The current one is fine."
Malcolm felt satisfied hearing this and couldn't help but pinch Reese's cheek.
"My wife is so obedient."
As Reese finished her coffee, she remembered there was another important matter to attend to.
"I have to go to Nolan's place, and you should come up with an excuse to give Sophia a day off."
"Got it. Go ahead and call me if you need help."
After Reese left, Malcolm paused for a moment, put on his coat, and followed her.
How could Malcolm be at ease letting Reese go to Nolan's place? Reese always handled other people's matters meticulously and would surely achieve a perfect result.
But as soon as it came to her own affairs, she easily lost control of her emotions. Malcolm understood that Reese's grandmother was the most important person to her, so naturally, she would be more concerned.
They currently didn't know the truth of the matter, and regardless of the outcome, Reese might not be able to accept it immediately.
His fear was that Reese might act rashly when the time came.
Reese drove toward Nolan's place, completely unaware that Malcolm was following her. After all, today, they might find out the cause of her grandmother's death and the culprit behind it. Reese was very nervous and focused on this, and was not paying attention to anything else.
When she arrived at Nolan's place, Reese was surprised to see Everhart there, looking like he had made a mistake and was beaten up. Reese just gave him a cold glance and walked past without stopping.
Everhart unwillingly shouted, "Reese."
