Chapter 511 How Much Money Did He Give You?
After Reese and Malcolm left, Nancy and Kenneth felt uneasy. Nancy clutched Kenneth's hand tightly.
"Do you think Reese can bring Dahlia back? What if something goes wrong? Didn't they say Nolan already found Everhart? Will he think Dahlia is with Everhart?"
Kenneth patted Nancy's shoulder. "It's okay. Don't worry. Even if you don't trust Reese, you trust Malcolm, right? He's very capable."
Nancy felt a bit relieved at the mention of Malcolm.
"That's true. Malcolm is so capable. Bringing someone back shouldn't be a problem."
"So just relax. We'll wait for news at home."
Seeing Kenneth so confident, Nancy felt a weight lift off her chest. She suddenly remembered what Malcolm said about the private jet.
"Mr. Flynn is really rich. He even has a private jet. I don't even know what the inside of a private jet looks like. If we had known his leg would get better and that he had no other issues, we shouldn't have let Reese marry him. If Dahlia had married him, our Brooks family would have succeeded along with the Flynn family by now."
The more Nancy thought about it, the angrier she got. She felt they had lost out back then.
Kenneth snorted, "You have quite the imagination. There's no medicine for regret in this world."
When Reese and Malcolm arrived in Skyport City, they called Louis.
"Hello, Reese."
"I'm in Skyport City. Send me your location, and I'll find you."
Louis was surprised. "Reese, you came to Skyport City? Didn't I tell you not to come? I can handle it alone. It's so late, and there are no tickets left."
"My husband has a private jet."
Louis was shocked. 'Reese's husband was amazing.'
"Alright, I'll send you the location now."
Reese agreed, "Okay, talk to you later."
Reese hung up, and Louis quickly sent the location.
Malcolm glanced at it and checked their current position.
"It might take about an hour to get there."
"Let's go. We need to race against time. The problem is if Nolan's people are faster than us."
Malcolm handed the phone to Justin. "We'll take turns driving. Let my wife sleep in the car."
Justin was silent.
Malcolm really cared for his wife, not considering that his assistant also needed rest after traveling so much.
Well, since Reese was a woman, if possible, Justin would want to be a woman in his next life and become Malcolm's wife. That way, he wouldn't have to worry about anything.
Justin started driving, and Malcolm sat in the back seat with Reese, pulling her arm over.
"Lie down on my lap and rest for a while. You probably won't sleep once we get there."
Reese was like that, very driven. Once she set her mind on something, she pursued it relentlessly, without delay.
While this quality benefite, it wasn't necessarily easy on him.
She kept herself too tense, not giving herself a moment to breathe. Seeing her tired but still pushing herself, Malcolm felt more pain than anyone.
Reese thought it would be another hour or two before they arrived. She was indeed tired, so she obediently lay on Malcolm's lap.
"Okay, you should also rest for a bit."
He had been preoccupied with her affairs lately, resulting in weight loss and dark circles under his eyes, likely due to sleep deprivation.
Originally, Malcolm had told Justin to call him after an hour of driving, but when he woke up, they had already arrived.
Justin opened the car door, and Malcolm saw Reese still sleeping. She must have been exhausted because she would wake up at the slightest noise normally.
Malcolm gestured for Justin to be quiet, then carefully carried Reese out of the car and covered her with his coat. It was dark and windy, and he didn't want his delicate wife to catch a cold.
Seeing this, Justin was astonished.
He had followed Malcolm for so many years and had never seen him being so attentive to anyone. It seemed all his decades of kindness were directed solely at Reese.
Thinking this way, he felt a twinge of envy towards Reese, who was the sole recipient of Malcolm's tenderness and care.
When Louis arrived, he saw Malcolm holding Reese and thought something had happened to her. He quickly went up to ask, "Mr. Flynn, is Reese okay?"
"She's fine, just exhausted and fell asleep."
"And about Everhart..."
Louis knew Reese had rushed over to quickly resolve the issue with Everhart. If they delayed any longer, she might get angry when she woke up. But he also didn't want to wake her.
Malcolm spoke up, "I'll handle the handover with you."
Louis noticed that Malcolm also looked very tired, with dark circles under his eyes and a hint of fatigue on his handsome face. He was probably pushing himself too. But seeing Reese find someone she truly liked and who treated her well was indeed rare. Their brothers could finally be at ease.
Louis nodded. "I understand. Let Reese rest for now."
Malcolm carefully placed Reese on the bed, moving gently to avoid waking her. Perhaps Reese was really too tired lately, as she didn't wake up despite all the movement. Malcolm quietly closed the door and took the relevant documents to Louis's room.
Malcolm sat in a chair, crossing his long legs, and then instructed Justin beside him, "Make some coffee."
"Yes, Mr. Flynn."
Since this was a hotel, it didn't have a coffee machine. Louis had to go out and buy some instant coffee for Malcolm. Fortunately, the supermarket sold the brand they had acquired for Reese, so he bought a box and made some for Malcolm. He also made a cup for Louis.
Louis accepted it. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Justin wasn't as familiar with Louis as he was with Calvin, so he was more polite.
After taking a sip, Malcolm felt much more awake, perhaps due to a placebo effect. He asked Louis, "Tell me about the situation over the past few days. How much have you found out about Everhart?"
"Not much. I found out he stayed at a nearby hotel, but he used other people's IDs, not his own."
Malcolm's long fingers casually drummed on the armrest of the chair. "That's normal. He's being hunted by Nolan, so he has to be careful not to expose his information. Otherwise, he wouldn't have lasted this long. Nolan is also looking for Everhart. It's a race to see who finds him first."
Louis nodded thoughtfully and handed the documents to Malcolm. "These are the hotel records where Everhart used other people's IDs. We've located him and can go ask tomorrow."
"Don't wait until tomorrow. Every hour counts. Nolan could find him at any moment. Everhart has something on Nolan, which is why he's making such a big fuss. Haven't you noticed that Nolan was more laid-back about catching Everhart before? Now he's moving much faster."
Malcolm's words completely woke Louis up. "I do remember. Nolan was after Everhart's life before, but not as relentlessly as now. It seems like Nolan is going all out to find Everhart."
Maybe Everhart really had something that could affect Nolan. If they could get that evidence first, they might be able to take Nolan down. Reese wouldn't have to waste time and effort looking for dirt on Nolan, which was also very risky.
Louis couldn't help but admire Malcolm's decisiveness and clear-headedness. He was truly a perfect match for Reese. He couldn't help but praise, "Reese really married the right person."
Malcolm's lips curled into a slightly smug smile. "Of course."
Justin couldn't bear to look. Malcolm was getting cocky again. He had noticed that Malcolm remained calm and composed when praised for anything else, but he got excited whenever Reese was mentioned.
Louis couldn't help but laugh. Malcolm genuinely adored Reese, which wasn't surprising given her beauty, figure, and exceptional capabilities.
Malcolm glanced at Justin, who was still standing there, and urged him, "What are you standing around for? Go quickly."
"I'm on it. Louis, please send the address to my phone."
Louis smiled. "Sure, thanks, Justin."
Justin replied politely, "No problem."
Half an hour later, Justin brought back a very ordinary-looking citizen. Malcolm glanced at him and guessed that Everhart had found him temporarily. He asked the man directly, "How much money did Everhart give you?"
