Chapter 482: This Couple

Elbert was speechless, and Rodolfo instinctively turned to Reese. Only Reese could pull off something like this.

"Reese, come on, he's young and dumb. Can you cut him some slack this time? I'll make sure he learns his lesson," Rodolfo pleaded.

Reese wasn't one to hold grudges, but if you crossed her, she'd make you regret it.

She shot a cold glance at Elbert. "For your uncle's sake, I'll let it slide this time. But starting tomorrow, you're out of here."

With that, Reese put away her concealed weapon, and Elbert suddenly found he could move again.

Elbert twisted his body, realizing he could move again. He immediately blurted out, "Uncle Knight, this woman is nuts, she just—"

"Shut up!" Before Elbert could finish, Rodolfo slapped him hard. "Are you blind? That's Reese! Do you have a death wish insulting her?"

Elbert was stunned, holding his cheek. "Uncle Knight, why did you hit me?"

Rodolfo's face was red with anger. "Do you know who she is? She's our benefactor. Without her, you wouldn't even be here!"

"What? Benefactor? Uncle Knight, this woman is the one from back then..."

"Enough! Have you ever seen me be this respectful to anyone else? And you dare treat her like this? You're done here."

Rodolfo knew better than to cross Reese. He might need her help again someday. Plus, without her, he wouldn't be where he was now. You don't forget people like that.

Elbert felt like he'd been thrown from heaven to hell. His face turned pale. "Uncle Knight, I... I was wrong. Please don't fire me. It was that shift change this morning; no one told me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have..."

He turned to Reese, desperate. "Reese, I'm so sorry. Please forgive me. I didn't know you were my uncle's benefactor. If I had, I wouldn't have treated you like that."

Justin couldn't resist mocking Elbert. "Mrs. Flynn wouldn't deign to be your savior. The price is too steep; we can't afford it."

"I was really wrong. I was blind. Please forgive me this time. Do you want to see Mr. Flynn? You can go in now."

Elbert quickly stepped aside, but Reese wasn't interested anymore. Belated flattery meant nothing to her.

She turned to Rodolfo. "I don't want to see him here ever again."

"Don't worry. You'll never see him again," Rodolfo assured her, his respect evident. He knew Reese's abilities far exceeded what they'd seen.

Reese finally felt satisfied.

Rodolfo quickly urged, "Let's go, it's getting late."

Reese and Justin went inside. The onlookers were shocked to see Rodolfo personally escorting someone, and whispers filled the room.

Rodolfo had Malcolm brought out and then said to Reese, "You twotalk first. I'll wait outside."

"Okay."

When Reese saw Malcolm, they both felt the weight of their time apart. But unlike other couples, they didn't rush to embrace. A single glance was enough to convey their feelings.

They weren't into flashy displays of affection. They could save that for when Malcolm was out. Right now, they had important matters to discuss.

"Honey, how have you been lately?" Reese asked.

Malcolm's eyes softened. "Thanks to you, it's been alright in here. I just miss you a lot."

"In a few days, you should be able to get out. I've already got Justin and Calvin on the case. But this time, I want to kill two birds with one stone."

Malcolm raised an eyebrow. "You planning to take Vincent down too?"

"Yeah, turns out he not only set you up but also tried to poison Grandpa Flynn. Luckily, we caught it in time. Otherwise, you and your brother would be at each other's throats over the inheritance."

Malcolm's eyes turned icy. "He tried to poison Grandpa Flynn? That bastard's got a death wish!"

He knew Vincent would do anything to grab the CEO spot, but poisoning Grandpa Flynn? That was a new low.

"Grandpa Flynn should handle the rest since he's the one Vincent targeted."

Malcolm nodded. "Yeah, Grandpa Flynn will want to deal with this scumbag himself."

His stern expression softened as he looked at Reese. "You've had it rough lately, huh?"

"When you get out, just remember to reward me. Maybe a shareholder position or a few projects from the Flynn Group."

She'd had her eye on those projects for a while but hadn't mentioned it until now.

Malcolm's eyes softened, his voice gentle. Justin, nearby, couldn't believe the sudden change. It was as if Malcolm had an emotional switch.

"Sure, whatever project you want, it's yours."

Justin's eye twitched. Had he known, he would've remained outside.

Reese smiled and leaned in to kiss Malcolm. "You're the best, love you."

Justin covered his face, feeling like a third wheel.

Malcolm ruffled Reese's hair. "Love you more."

Justin rolled his eyes. Witnessing Malcolm pamper Reese like this felt surreal. The typically cold and intimidating CEO had transformed into a doting husband. It was hard to believe, even for someone who'd seen it before.

After their affectionate exchange, it was time to get serious.

Reese said, "I think we should consult Grandpa Flynn on some issues first. What do you think? Vincent is part of the family, so for now, we should sideline him and strip him of his shareholder position."

Malcolm stroked his chin, deep in thought.

Reese waited quietly. She had expected Malcolm to look worn out from being detained, but he looked as sharp and handsome as ever. No matter the situation, Malcolm always kept his cool. This was the man she loved.

She couldn't stand men who panicked more than women, who had no sense of responsibility.

After a moment, Malcolm spoke. "Let's do as you said. If Vincent resists, don't hold back. Deal with him harshly."

Reese nodded. "Don't worry, I won't go easy on him."

Justin sighed inwardly. This couple...
