Chapter 438 Make Nolan Disappear
Reese looked into Malcolm's serious eyes, and her heart was filled with a warm feeling. It felt good to be protected.
However, there was a question she felt she needed to ask. Malcolm often did things behind her back, sometimes so discreetly that she didn't even notice.
Reese had a hint of coldness in her eyes, making it hard for anyone to relax. She asked Malcolm very seriously. "How did you know I was going to see Everhart?"
Malcolm rubbed his chin. "I installed a tracking system in your phone."
Reese was stunned.
The key point was that she hadn't noticed. Reese considered herself quite adept with computers, especially with chips, installations, and system monitoring. So how did Malcolm manage to install the tracking chip in her phone without her knowing?
Her gaze at Malcolm suddenly changed. She realized she had never paid attention to how capable Malcolm was. What she knew might only be a small part. She had no idea how many identities and secrets he had.
In this marriage, who was the one hiding the most? It seemed she needed to reassess Malcolm.
Malcolm felt a bit uneasy under Reese's gaze, but he smiled slightly. "I was worried about your safety. Look, if I hadn't thought of this, you might not have gotten away today."
Reese nodded thoughtfully, but the smile on her face had a sinister edge. "So, you mean I should thank you."
"That seems to be the case." Malcolm smiled, showing no embarrassment at Reese's words.
Reese checked her phone for a long time but couldn't find where Malcolm had installed the monitoring system.
She handed the phone to him. "Where did you install it?"
Seeing that Reese hadn't noticed, Malcolm felt a bit smug.
He raised an eyebrow. "Haven't you heard? There's a software now that can be implanted without needing an installation."
Reese knew about this, but there were no reliable ones on the market yet.
Malcolm opened his phone and showed her a software she had never heard of.
"Where did you get this... software?" Reese asked.
"They recently developed it, but it's not on the market yet. This software still has some bugs and isn't very mature," Malcolm answered.
Reese pointed at herself incredulously. "You mean I became your test subject to fix your software bugs?"
Malcolm explained, "You're not a test subject now. You're our most esteemed member. You can use it for free in the future because it can accurately locate your position. This proves it's much better than other software."
Reese was silent.
But Malcolm's developing software was indeed impressive. He was far more than just the president of the Flynn Group.
Forgot it. She didn't want to argue with him. But indeed, thanks to Malcolm's software, she might not have escaped from those people otherwise.
So she decided not to pursue this matter.
However, she felt she still needed to say something.
Reese gave him a warning look. "If you do something like this behind my back again, I won't forgive you."
But her voice lacked any real threat. She didn't know when she began to hide her sharpness in front of him, slowly showing her softer side.
The right person understood, just like Malcolm at this moment. Even if Reese didn't say it, he knew what she was thinking and understood her unease.
Malcolm didn't get angry with her. He could handle anything for his wife, and he knew Reese wasn't really angry with him.
He thought they should talk about Everhart.
"What do you plan to do with Everhart? Someone like him shouldn't stay by your side," Malcolm said.
Even if Reese spared his life, it didn't mean Everhart could stay with her.
Reese knew this well. "I know, he can't stay. Where do you think we can settle him? I want Everhart to leave this city. He has no use staying here, and Nolan won't let him go."
Malcolm snorted. "He won't let you go either."
"I know." She never expected Nolan to spare her, but she was fearless.
Malcolm had a bold idea. Reese saw Malcolm's furrowed brows and serious expression.
"I think we don't need to keep Nolan's organization around," Malcolm said.
If it continued, it would be a hidden danger, benefiting neither him nor Reese.
They had already had conflicts with Nolan's subordinates before, and now standing up for Everhart meant a complete break with Nolan.
Reese was surprised by Malcolm's bold idea. She always thought Malcolm did things cautiously, but she didn't expect him to say something like this today.
She reached out to feel Malcolm's forehead. "Do you know how long Nolan's organization has been around? It's not something you can do easily."
Even Reese didn't dare to have such thoughts. At most, she aimed to weaken their power, not to eliminate them completely.
"It's not easy to eliminate, but it doesn't mean it's impossible." If Malcolm wanted to do something, he believed he could achieve it.
Reese thought Malcolm's idea was impossible. Even if she had the thought, she knew she didn't have the strength.
She told Malcolm, "Do you even know Nolan's strength?"
Though Nolan was aging, he had built this organization since he was young. Even if they were doing poorly, they had accumulated significant connections and resources. Even if Giedon took action, success wasn't guaranteed, let alone Malcolm.
She didn't know what was up with Malcolm. Usually, he was very confident in what he did. He wouldn't do what he wasn't sure.
"I know Nolan's strength," Malcolm replied calmly.
"Then why..." Reese asked.
Of course, Reese didn't finish her sentence, mainly to avoid hurting Malcolm's confidence.
Malcolm's eyes shone brightly. "But I have my ways. Nolan's organization isn't entirely clean. If we find his weak spot and lure him into a trap, wouldn't that work?"
"But you have to lure him into a trap first. Also, Nolan has connections everywhere. Do you think you can easily bring him down? Honey, don't be so naive," Reese reminded.
If Nolan were that easy to defeat, she would have done it herself.
Because it wasn't easy and could bring big trouble, Reese hadn't acted.
But Malcolm seemed confident. "You don't have to worry about this. I have my ways."
Reese said nothing.
Malcolm was either overly confident or truly capable.
