Chapter 414 Speak Face to Face

Malcolm only felt his whole body start to heat up as he wrapped his arms around Reese's waist and pressed her down on the couch, his dark eyes flickering with desire.

His voice was hoarse, as he struggled to control himself. "Honey, you asked for this."

When Reese went back down, it was already over an hour later. As soon as she returned to the office, almost everyone was looking at her with strange eyes.

Sophia was the first to rush to her. "Reese..."

Reese looked at Sophia with a silly smile. "What's up?"

"You were so bold just now, daring to kiss Mr. Flynn in front of so many people."

Reese felt quite embarrassed when she mentioned this. She had been too impulsive at the time. If it had been before, she definitely wouldn't have done it.

Thinking back, she still felt quite embarrassed. "Let's get to work."

Some female colleagues exchanged glances and then swarmed over.

"Reese, Reese, I have some snacks here. Do you want some?"

"I have some freshly imported coffee here. I heard you like coffee."

In an instant, all those who previously disliked Reese were now all smiled and gathered around her.

Sophia couldn't help but curl her lips at their hypocrisy.

When Reese first joined the company, these people looked at her with hostility. But now, knowing she was the young mistress of the Flynn family and Malcolm's wife, they immediately changed their attitude.

It was truly disgusting.

But Sophia knew a bit about Reese's temperament; she despised people without principles the most.

These people didn't even consider Reese's temperament before approaching her, which was akin to courting death.

Sure enough, Reese's face remained as cold as ever, showing no emotional fluctuation, and she found their chattering quite annoying.

She lazily lifted her eyelids. "It's work time now. Can you all get back to work?"

Reese's words immediately extinguished the enthusiasm of those female colleagues, and their faces fell instantly.

However, they didn't dare to slander Reese as before. After all, she was now the young mistress of the Flynn family. Considering the fate of those who had previously crossed her, they decided it was better to keep their jobs.

Once those people dispersed, Reese felt the air around her become much fresher.

Reese felt quite helpless. Did she look like someone who could be easily bribed? She was just an ordinary employee before, and these people had often bad-mouthed her behind her back.

However, she didn't hold out much hope. People would never change their nature of gossiping about others' private lives, and these people were no different.

In the afternoon, when Reese was in the lounge, she was just about to make some coffee. She hadn't slept well the night before and was still feeling sleepy.

As soon as she walked in, she heard people gossiping. Coincidentally, she was the subject of their discussion.

"Look at Reese now, showing off as if no one knows she's Mr. Flynn's wife."

"What can you do? She is indeed the young mistress of the Flynn family. Didn't you see how Mr. Flynn treasures her? She dared to kiss Mr. Flynn in front of so many people. Imagine how pampered she must be in private."

"If I had known Reese had Mr. Flynn backing her, I would have learned from Sophia and befriended her sooner."

"Exactly! But now, this woman is so stubborn. What can you do? It's best to avoid provoking her in the future."

"But, didn't she have no special background before? She's just the daughter of the Brooks family. How did she marry into the Flynn family?"

Everyone knew the Flynn family's influence in the industry, renowned and untouchable. Everyone thought the Flynn family would find someone of equal status, but who knew they would choose such an ordinary woman.

"She looks good. If any of you had her looks, you could try messing around with Mr. Flynn and see if he falls for it."

"Right, she has her methods, and you don't. Even heroes can't resist the charms of a beauty; there's a reason for that saying."

Sophia, standing at the door, listened to their gossip, and a surge of anger welled up. She was about to push the door open and confront them when Reese stopped her. "Don't go."

Sophia frowned. "Why not? They are talking about you like this. Do they think Mr. Flynn would look at them with their looks? He probably wouldn't even lift an eyelid."

In her heart, Reese was excellent. She knew that even if Reese wasn't the young mistress of the Flynn family, she wasn't an ordinary person. Just looking at her daily behavior and handling of affairs, along with her skills, she wasn't ordinary.

These people, with their narrow-mindedness, couldn't match up, so they maliciously slandered behind her back. It was truly detestable.

Reese never took these people's words seriously.

"If you go now, it will only make them more unscrupulous. There are so many people in the company. Can you shut one person's mouth? Can you shut the whole company's?"

Sophia knew this but still felt indignant.

"But we can't let them talk about you like this. Why don't we tell Mr. Flynn? Mr. Flynn won't sit idly by."

"Have you ever seen me tell him before? Alright, these people have nothing to do with me. Their words can't affect me, and you shouldn't care either."

Sophia admired Reese's good mindset. As an observer, she was furious, but Reese could remain so calm. It was truly not easy.

She slumped her shoulders. "Alright, since you said so, let's go."

"Go where? I haven't made my coffee yet. I'm still very sleepy."

Saying that, Reese pushed the door open.

"Reese..."

Sophia wanted to call her, but it was too late.

The people inside were startled by the noise. When they turned around and saw Reese, their faces turned pale. There's a saying for this.

They were feeling guilty like thieves.

Reese walked to the counter without changing her expression and started making her coffee, speaking calmly. "Don't stop. Keep talking. If you have anything to say, just say it. It must be uncomfortable to keep it inside."

The colleagues could feel the coldness emanating from Reese, gradually spreading. Some female colleagues rubbed their arms, getting goosebumps.

One female colleague awkwardly smiled. "What do you mean? We didn't say anything. Don't misunderstand."

"Yeah, you must have misheard."

"How could we dare to talk about you? You're Mr. Flynn's wife."

But the tone sounded somewhat sarcastic.

Reese turned her head, her face dark, and gave them a sharp look.

"You didn't know I was Mr. Flynn's wife before, but you still gossiped behind my back. What, not convinced? If you're not convinced, show your skills and see if Mr. Flynn falls for it."

Sophia never expected Reese to handle it this way. Indeed, sometimes evildoers face retribution for their actions.

The colleagues were also surprised by Reese's words. They thought she would lecture them, but instead, she said something unconventional, not fitting the image of Mr. Flynn's wife.

Reese had always been like this. She spoke to people based on who they were. For these people, she felt there was no need to be reasonable. The harsher, the better.

With Reese's support, Sophia immediately chimed in.

"If any of you were half as good-looking as Reese, maybe Mr. Flynn would take a second look at you. But unfortunately..."

A female colleague was displeased with Sophia's words. They didn't dare provoke Reese, but they weren't afraid of Sophia.

"Sophia, don't think you can elevate your status just because you're following Reese. Maybe one day, when she's done using you, she'll throw you away like trash. Let's see how you manage then."

"Exactly, maybe you knew her identity all along. Otherwise, you wouldn't be so loyal. Nowadays, everyone is self-serving, and you're no exception."

Sophia, feeling misunderstood, shouted with her neck stiff. "I'm not. I truly consider Reese a friend. Stop talking nonsense."

"Whether it's nonsense, you know very well."

Sophia, red-faced with anger, clenched her fists tightly. "You..."

"So what? At least it's better than you. By the way, I've recorded everything you said earlier. As senior employees, you should know the company's rules better. Mr. Flynn hates female colleagues gossiping about others' private lives. Instead of slandering Sophia, think about what you'll do next."

After speaking, Reese finished making her coffee and handed a cup to Sophia. "Let's go."

It was the first time Sophia received coffee made by Reese. The gloom in her heart disappeared instantly, replaced by a bright smile. She said excitedly. "Thank you."

As they left the lounge, the female colleagues were so angry they almost smashed their cups.

"That Reese is getting more and more arrogant."

"She has been arrogant since she joined the company, not just today."

"I even think that even without the title of Mrs. Flynn, with her flamboyant personality, she would still be arrogant."

"It's all your fault. I told you not to talk behind her back. Now look what happened."
