Chapter 403 Retribution Shall Inevitably Befall You
The next day, the photos reached Reese's hands. In fact, she didn't intend to do anything with them, she just wanted to prevent Natalie from causing trouble again in the future. Reese was never one to show mercy. She had to be even more ruthless than her opponent to stop this trouble.
Otherwise, Reese knew very well that Natalie would definitely continue to cause her trouble. It was all of Natalie's own making.
In the morning, Reese went to pick up Sophia. Seeing the yellow envelope in Reese's car, Sophia quickly guessed what it was about.
"Are these Natalie's photos? Reese, did you really let those people do those things to her?"
"You're overthinking it. I just had them take some photos. They didn't tarnish her innocence, they just pushed her around a bit. With these photos in my hands, she won't dare to cause trouble again in the future."
Sophia breathed a sigh of relief. "I knew you wouldn't really let those people do that. It's also good to have these photos. Natalie won't dare to come and bother you again now."
"I'm not worried about her bothering me. I'm worried about her bothering you."
Natalie was sure that Sophia wasn't just a stranger who didn't care about her. If she couldn't deal with Reese, she would definitely target Sophia.
Sophia was timid, and as soon as she heard that Natalie might come looking for trouble, she immediately became apprehensive.
"Why would she come for me?"
"Because she can't do anything to me. The only way is to keep your distance from me. Try not to talk to me at the office."
In fact, Reese didn't want to have any weaknesses, because once she had one, she would be easily exploited.
Upon hearing this, Sophia immediately refused. "No, I don't think it's necessary. Reese, I'm very willing to be friends with you, but not because you're Mr. Flynn's wife, I..."
For a moment, Sophia didn't know what to say.
After pondering for a while, Sophia said, "I just think you're a good person, not as cold and unfeeling as you appear on the surface. And recently, as I've gotten to know you better, I've become more and more certain of my feelings toward you. You're a really good person, but people just don't have the patience to discover your goodness. So, it seems like I've found a treasure."
Seeing the smile on Sophia's face, Reese felt her intentions were clean and pure. She rarely saw such a smile on a girl's face, perhaps because she had seen too many fake smiles.
Sophia was actually somewhat similar to Alyssa in some aspects. Both of them were very genuine and unpretentious. Sophia appeared timid on the surface, but her values were solid. Despite seeming meek most of the time, Sophia could be relied on in times of troubles.
On the other hand, Alyssa seemed carefree on the outside, but had a very kind heart. She liked to step forward to help others whenever something happened. If she encountered reliable people, things might turn out fine, but if she comes across unreliable people, Alyssa's actions could lead to a nasty outcome.
Others might even curse Alyssa behind her back.
Reese interrupted her thoughts. "Alright, just be careful. Call me if anything comes up."
Sophia tightly held the bottle of water in her hand and nodded solemnly. "Don't worry, I'll definitely call you. After all, you're so capable."
As they reached the company's entrance, Reese had just parked the car and was about to enter when a sharp voice rang out.
"Reese Brooks, I'm going to kill you. You are a crazy woman."
Reese's eyes narrowed. She slightly leaned to the side, swiftly grabbed the person's arm, twisted the wrist, and the knife in the person's hand fell to the ground with a clatter.
Only then did Reese see that it was Natalie. Natalie looked disheveled and was in a terrible state. Seeing the weapon drop from her hand, Natalie raised her other hand as if to slap Reese's face. Reese raised her knee, pushing the person out directly.
Natalie staggered a few steps and fell to the ground. Reese's eyes turned icy, exuding a stern aura, which even made Sophia, who saw it, feel scared. Reese's current demeanor was completely different from before.
However, what frightened Sophia more was Natalie charging at them with a knife just moments ago.
Sophia asked Reese, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Call the police," Reese replied.
Sophia snapped back to reality. "Right, right, call the police."
Natalie had truly lost it, publicly wielding a knife with the intent to cause harm.
Just as Sophia was about to take out her phone, Natalie stood up, laughing maniacally at Reese.
"Reese, you're a wicked one. Retribution shall inevitably befall you!"
Natalie's shout attracted onlookers, but no one dared to approach them. Anyone seeing Natalie in that state would feel afraid, unsure of what she might do next.
Nonetheless, this didn't stop them from whispering and speculating.
"What's going on? Isn't that Natalie? Why would she come to the company's entrance, causing trouble? She looks quite pathetic."
"Indeed, just look at disheveled appearance. She does seem to be in a bad state."
"Has something happened recently? But why is she holding Reese accountable? Did Reese do something to her?"
"Don't you know? Natalie was forced to resign from the company because of Reese. Now, no company dares to hire her."
"No wonder she harbors such hatred toward Reese. Since Natalie left the company, no one in has dared to provoke Reese. She practically became a curse in the company. Think about it, those who offended her or caused trouble for her before, it seems none of them could stay peacefully in the company. Most have left."
These comments felt like a knife twisting in Natalie's heart, fueling the flames of anger within her.
Natalie glared at Reese with intense hatred, shouting sharply, "Reese, I curse you to a miserable end. You are a ruthless woman. Give me back those photos, or I'll have to call the police. I'll make sure you spend the rest of your life in prison."
Reese faced Natalie's hysteria without fear, calmly confronting her.
"I've been lenient enough to you, Natalie. Who exactly hired someone to harm us? Did Sophia offend you before? If I remember correctly, she didn't, so why target her?"
Reese didn't blame Natalie for wanting to harm her. There were plenty of people who wanted to harm her, and Natalie was just one of them. However, Natalie was wrong for harming the innocent.
Natalie was like a mad dog, ready to bite anyone.
Trembling, with a fierce expression on her face, she accused Reese. "It's all because of you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have targeted her. It's your fault for being so close to her all the time."
