Chapter 58 Let go of me, you hooligan!

This girl was becoming more and more intriguing. She dared to defy even Grandpa Flynn. What else was she not afraid to do?

"Grandpa, I fired the female employee in the company. It has nothing to do with my wife. She has always been straightforward and unassuming in her speech. I apologize on her behalf," Malcolm explained.

Alyssa couldn't help but widen her eyes. So Malcolm was blinded by this girl's beauty? How could he still think that she's not someone who overthinks things? She clearly resembled a cunning fox, and just her eyes alone were enough to make one shudder.

Reese's pupils suddenly contracted, a hint of surprise flashing through. Was he really speaking up for her?

Grandpa Flynn's anger only grew instead of subsiding after listening to Malcolm's explanation. "She is causing trouble, and do you just let her run wild? It's true that you have control over the company, but you can't simply fire someone based on a whim. If the other employees find out, they'll surely speculate about your relationship with Reese."

Malcolm chuckled and said, "Grandpa, we are indeed husband and wife. There's nothing much to speculate about. Even if they do, it's just a passing matter."

Grandpa Flynn was getting frustrated. He didn't know how to talk to Malcolm anymore. What's wrong with his grandson lately? He always defends Reese in everything.

"Even if you are husband and wife, the people in the company don't know that. And although Reese's appearance is acceptable now, her background is far from ordinary. It's completely unrelated to our family. The media is paying a lot of attention to the Flynn family now. If this gets out, who knows how they'll report it."

"Let them report however they want. Regardless of Reese's background, I won't allow anyone to bully my wife."

Reese looked at this man beside her, his gaze determined. The contours of his face were profound, with knife-like lines. Under his straight nose, his beautiful lips were tightly pressed together. Dressed in a black suit, he stood tall and imposing, exuding a chilling aura.

Everly and Alyssa were intimidated by his presence and didn't dare to make a sound. Everly tightly gripped the chair, her face that was slightly proud just moments ago now filled with anger.

Had he stopped listening to Grandpa just for Reese? What is so special about this woman?

Alyssa had always been outspoken, saying whatever she thought. She couldn't stand how Malcolm was protecting Reese.

"Malcolm, she's an outsider. Everyone here is your blood relative. How can you blur right and wrong for the sake of this woman?" Alyssa voiced her disapproval.

As soon as she finished speaking, a shadow passed through the man's eyes, and his gaze shot towards Alyssa.

Alyssa was merely gazed at by him, and she immediately shrank her neck, feeling intimidated.

The man's gaze was dominant, and it was clear that his anger had escalated.

"If anyone dares to target my wife again, I will show no mercy."

Perhaps it was his intimidating presence, but not a single person dared to utter a word. Grandpa Flynn was so frustrated that he sat slumped in his chair, unsure of what to say.

Then, he looked at Reese, and his sharp eyes softened slightly.

"Honey, let's go back to the room."

Reese was momentarily stunned before realizing he was calling her.

"Oh, okay."

She approached and guided Malcolm towards the room, while the people in the living room downstairs watched them in confusion.

Alyssa looked at Grandpa Flynn in astonishment, then stomped her foot in anger.

"Grandpa, aren't you going to do anything about this?"

It had escalated too much.

The wrinkled corners of Grandpa Flynn's mouth twitched, and his expression wasn't too good either. Then, he got up, leaning on the chair.

"We'll talk about everything when Malcolm's legs get better."

Alyssa couldn't believe it. After Grandpa Flynn left, she turned to Everly.

"Did Grandpa mean to let Malcolm pamper and protect Reese like this?"

Everly was also helpless. "What else can we do? Malcolm wants to protect her, and there's nothing Grandpa can do about it."

Alyssa looked unwilling. She had originally wanted to watch Reese embarrass herself and be scolded by Grandpa. Who knew it would turn into a public display of affection?

Reese was about to help Malcolm up to return to the bed slowly. However, Malcolm stood up with the support of the chair armrests.

This startled Reese, and she quickly went up to steady him.

"Don't act recklessly now, rest a few more days."

There was a touch of tenderness in Malcolm's eyes as he said, "You care about me."

This remark almost made Reese send him back to the wheelchair.

"You've misunderstood. I promised your grandpa that I would help you stand up. I'm the kind of person who keeps my word."

She was simply fulfilling her promise to others. As for caring or not, she was really embarrassed. She only cared about her wallet.

Malcolm raised an eyebrow, his smile becoming more pronounced. He wasn't affected at all and even lightly pinched her round earlobe, his voice seductive.

"Has anyone ever told you that your ears turn red when you lie?"

Startled, Reese immediately touched her own ears, feeling nothing. Then, she saw Malcolm smirking mischievously. Reese had never been played with like this before, so she punched his waist. However, Malcolm swiftly dodged the attack.

Reese's eyebrows narrowed as she caught his arm, ready to throw him over her shoulder. However, Malcolm anticipated her every move as if he could read her mind, like a tapeworm in her stomach. In the end, instead of teaching Malcolm a lesson, Reese found herself being pinned down by him on the bed.

She struggled, glaring at the man above her with angry eyes, "Malcolm, let go of me, you ruffian!"

Malcolm held her hand, which was about to strike down, and instead of anger, his eyes were filled with excitement.

"I am your lawful husband, how did I become a ruffian? And there are even more ruthless things I can do, would you like to try?"

Reese, fully aware of his implication, shouted, "Don't you dare. I'll hurt you!"

Malcolm curled his lips devilishly. It had been years since he had encountered such a prickly woman, truly interesting. With his other hand wrapped around her waist, he was slightly surprised. Her waist was extraordinarily soft, not just like that of a taekwondo practitioner, but more like a dancer's flexible and graceful waist.

The warmth of his fingertips lightly brushed against her petite nose, her eyes filled with rage while he was overflowing with tenderness. "If you hurt me, what will you do in the future?"

Reese was about to be driven to the brink of collapse by this shameless man. Her cheeks flushed white and she looked ferocious, but there was not a single aspect that made her uncomfortable. On the contrary, it was rather cute.

She stared fiercely at Malcolm with her chilling eyes, "If I had known you had such intentions, I wouldn't have saved you."

"I am your husband, saving me means saving yourself. Otherwise, you won't be able to leave the Flynn family."

Reese sneered. Confidence exuded from her bright eyes. "I won't say anything else, but as for leaving the Flynn family, the door really can't stop me. I come and go as I please."
