Chapter 392 Why Are You Everywhere?
When Reese and Alyssa were out, they happened to bump into Malcolm. These past few days, Malcolm had been incredibly busy, to the point where Reese hardly saw him in the evenings. However, Reese wasn't the type to make a fuss if his spouse didn't come home; they both had their own obligations to attend to. Their marriage wasn't a constraint but rather a means for both of them to strive harder to become the best versions of themselves.
Malcolm asked Reese and Alyssa, "It's getting late, where are you two off to?"
Alyssa responded with excitement, "Malcolm, I'm taking Reese out to relax a bit. Plus, I have some fans who want to have an offline chat with me."
Malcolm raised an eyebrow, "You can handle that on your own. Why drag Reese along?"
Alyssa retorted, "Bringing Reese along is like boosting my courage, don't you think?"
Alyssa found herself in a new situation, surrounded by so many people. She worried about being questioned about her professional knowledge and feeling a bit nervous. Having Reese by her side could offer her some reassurance and maybe even prompt her if needed.
Upon hearing Alyssa's explanation, Malcolm couldn't help but chuckle, "Do you really need someone to boost your courage?"
"Once the little tyrant of the Flynn family, now needing someone to boost Alyssa's confidence—how ironic, it almost begged for a chuckle.
Alyssa caught Malcolm's implication, hitting a sore spot, and she felt a bit embarrassed.
"Alright, bro, it's just borrowing your wife for a bit, no need to be stingy. Besides, judging by your current demeanor, you probably won't be coming home tonight either. Reese will be all alone at home, feeling lonely. It's better for him to stay with us; at least we'll have some company."
Malcolm turned his gaze towards Reese, "Honey, do you want to go? If not, you can rest at home."
"I'll go, I've already promised her," Reese replied, disliking going back on his word at the last minute.
Reese disliked going back on his word at the last minute, especially when he had already agreed to something.
Malcolm rubbed Reese's head, "Alright, just be careful on the way, or else I'll have Justin drive you both."
"It's okay, Malcolm. We'll drive there ourselves. You can rest assured; we won't be drinking anyway."
Alyssa needs to maintain a positive image in front of her fans.
"Go ahead." Malcolm ascended the stairs with the files in hand.
Reese accompanied Alyssa as they stepped out. Upon reaching the bar, it was already bustling with a crowd, especially considering it was the weekend.
However, Reese didn't find the atmosphere inside too off-putting; it was rather quiet, which suited him fine.
Before long, Alyssa located her fans inside, exchanged greetings, then settled down to chat. Reese sat nearby, mostly silent.
A female fan asked Alyssa, "Is this young lady your friend? She's so beautiful, especially her demeanor, it's simply stunning."
Reese's aura did indeed set her apart from most girls. There was a hint of solitude in her demeanor, akin to an iceberg, making it hard for people to approach, yet drawing others' gaze irresistibly.
"Alyssa understood Reese's disposition, knowing she might not enjoy being in the spotlight.
"Yes, she's my friend. Let's focus on our own conversations; she's not much of a talker," Alyssa replied.
"Okay." the fan agreed.
Not far away, Sebastian was enjoying drinks with his friends when his gaze casually landed on Reese, who sat quietly in the corner, holding her glass.
Frederick Taylor was startled as he observed Sebastian freeze in the midst of taking a sip.
"What's wrong with you?" Frederick asked.
"Am I mistaken?"
Sebastian rubbed his eyes, trying to get a clearer view.
Frederick reached out and nudged Sebastian: "What did you see wrong?"
"It's really her!"
Sebastian hadn't anticipated crossing paths with Reese here. And wait, isn't that the eloquent young lady from the other day?
Why would Reese and Alyssa come to a place like this? And with so many guys around too.
Sebastian was ready to go investigate.
Reese had just begun to rise to head to the restroom when, unexpectedly, she collided with Sebastian.
Sporting a mischievous grin, Sebastian remarked, "Well, well, it's really you."
Frederick, standing nearby, couldn't take his eyes off Reese, nudging Sebastian, he said, "Who's this beauty? Such grace, just my type."
"Who's this gorgeous lady? Her aura is captivating; I'm drawn to that kind of elegance."
Frederick was taken aback by Sebastian's unusual harshness, his mind racing with speculations about the woman's connection to Sebastian.
"What's going on? Could it be... you two are involved?"
Reese's icy gaze suddenly sharpened, her presence commanding as she looked squarely at Frederick, her voice like the chill of an ice cavern, carrying a warning.
"You'd better take back what you just said."
Frederick comes from a wealthy background too, albeit not as affluent as the Hawthorne family. He indulges in the pleasures of the world, particularly captivated by women.
Moreover, Frederick rarely encounters someone with such a unique aura as Reese's, naturally sparking his interest.
Seeing Reese's attitude towards him only fueled Frederick's desire for conquest; instead of getting angry, he found himself even more intrigued.
"Miss, don't be so harsh. Did Sebastian Hawthorne dump you? No worries, come with me. I'll treat you to delicious food and drinks. Look at these guys, they're all broke. With me, you can have whatever you want. Okay?"
Before Frederick could finish his sentence, Reese swiftly turned and kicked him several meters away.
The commotion erupted in the bar instantly.
Sebastian, looking at Frederick lying on the ground clutching his stomach in pain, sighed in resignation.
"I told you not to even think about approaching her, but you wouldn't listen."
Sebastian's family had all suffered losses because of Reese, so what benefits could Frederick possibly gain?
However, Sebastian admired Reese's determination. She possessed the same refusal to yield as the rest of the Hawthorne family—an indomitable spirit that said, "If you dare to challenge me, I'll meet you head-on."
Frederick struggled to rise from the ground, but he dared not provoke Reese again. Her fierceness was overwhelming; he simply couldn't handle it.
But Frederick needed to get things clear.
"Who is this woman to you?"
Sebastian adjusted his collar, cleared his throat, and with an unmistakable air of pride, he began the introduction.
"Allow me to formally introduce you today. This, my friend, is my sister."
Frederick looked surprised. "Same parents?"
"Same father, different mother," Sebastian clarified.
But none of that mattered. What mattered was the appearance of such a formidable individual in their midst—the Hawthorne family.
"Come on, why didn't you say so earlier? If you had, I wouldn't have gone over there. Now I got kicked for nothing!"
Frederick had assumed Reese was Sebastian's ex-girlfriend, thinking if Sebastian could date Reese, so could he. Little did he know, their relationship was nothing of the sort. "
Sebastian, not holding back, retorted, "You didn't tell me either."
Alyssa, rising at this moment, crossed her arms, a mischievous smirk on her face as she looked at Sebastian.
"If I were you, the moment I saw her, I'd scram to avoid trouble."
Sebastian always felt a competitive edge whenever he encountered Alyssa.
"Why do you show up everywhere?"
"Isn't it normal for me to be everywhere? She's my brother's wife, living under the same roof. But you, why do we bump into you wherever we go?
